I have never seen an actual case of a rosary turning to gold.
However, a man in my parish who is big on Medjugorje, and who goes there every year, told me his rosary had turned to gold, when he first visited there. He showed me the rosary and in examining it, the chain was goldish, but the part of the chain, the wire that is inside the bead where the fingers can’t touch, was still silver, the original color of the wire.
When I told him that the transformation was from the acids in the oils on his fingers and pointed to the silver wire that was still inside the beads, he rejected my observation and just put the rosary back in his pocket.
The thing is, the guy works with metals in his profession and should know better.
However, he pretty much believes everything he sees at Medjugorje as a miracle. He has shown pictures after Mass, where he claims Jesus appeared in the clouds. However, unless he actually traces the outline of the image with his finger, its not obvious and even after, its a loose resemblance of a man with a beard.
