Has church attendance mass opened up in your city?

I’m concerned about threats to religious liberty, and personal liberty in general. My governor has assumed almost dictatorial powers over private businesses, private citizens who play a pickup game of basketball, private citizens who must now wear a mask on their face (is that power in the State or US Constitution?)

On the other hand the Church has a responsibility to protect human life, even if there are other issues going on. If we restored public Masses tomorrow, most people who come would be elderly. Others would be children. Safe Distance would not consistently happen.

Here’s where our prolife commitment needs to kick in. I suspect Nobody working in the hospitals is supporting this. I know what those people are saying about people staying home.

It depends on the state of course.
the government has authority to prohibit religious observances.
Which state is this?
i was surprised liquor stores are on there.
and some bourbon before I could go to a church.
I’m assuming you know why, but are busy creating a narrative.

If you don’t…it’s to avoid alcoholics flooding the emergency rooms and taking up hospital beds due to withdrawal…a withdrawal, if forced “cold turkey” that could kill them.
and Taco Bell
I know this is meant to continue your agenda, but to be fair…I can’t go into a Taco Bell either.
Sadly, here in America, guns take priority over everything else.
Alcohol (and, where legal, marijuana) are considered vital to withstanding the stress of quarantine.
See above regarding liquor stores.

Not yet. Maybe it will in next month.

It seems to me that this tread is turning into that one “I don’t agree with bishop’s decision to lock churches for public devotion and Masses”. Unfortunately.

This is where a wee bit of historical understanding would shed some light.

The Holy Church is in no way new to epidemics. How did it handle previous ones re: worship and the sacraments?

Do we think we’re a little better educated now since our last one???

I’d like to think so. 🤷‍♂️

Several churches are open for private prayer and confessions aren’t hard to find. No public Masses.

No.

But I still have the EWTN Mass on Sunday morning on the local EWTN radio affiliate.

And, as I’ve said before, God isn’t just in a church; God is everywhere.

Not yet, although we’ve been enjoying live stream Masses and various You Tube communications from our parish and archdiocese. Our parish community is definitely staying closely in touch…! I’m wondering concerning the future of our regular traditions: partaking of the Precious Blood, offering the sign of peace, holding hands during the Our Father, using the Holy Water bowls, shaking hands, etc.
