Several years ago I was praying at a grotto near a church and I think Mary responded to something I thought/prayed. I wasnāt saying a formal prayer. I donāt like to share it randomly because it seems to take away from it but I did tell my spiritual director at the time and he didnāt seem impressed 
. He didnāt disregard it but didnāt make a big deal out of it either which was good.
I donāt know if it was Mary or not but it isnāt in conflict with the Bible or church teaching. The context is in line with devotions or consecrations so I do ponder those words quite often.
ETA: I also ponder how I reacted to this grace: Iām pretty sure my eyes got big, thought āokayā (giving my ascent) and backed away slowly before turning and walking (quickly) back to the church or my car.

I was praying a novena to her a while ago. Thatās probably what made me dream of her. In my dream I was talking to somebody named Mary and she told me to āhold onā and sheāll get the āreal Maryā. Than Mary came down from Heaven outta the sky, and I woke up.
I never had a dream about Mary or anyone before so when I woke up I was like wow. Iām not superstitious or anything, I donāt even believe the apparitions, terrible I know, I just thought it was a good comforting dream.
Another time I believe I ate a banana before bed, lol, (donāt do it), and I woke up with this awful pain in my stomach, I even moaned which was odd, it was that bad lol, that frigging bananaā¦ but because I was praying the rosary before bed every night, the first thought that came to my mind was a Hail Mary. I said it, went back to sleep instantly after saying it, and woke up fine.

Here are some dreamsā¦Could it be Our Blessed Mother? I donāt know, sometimes the devil can be a tricky bugger, and dreams could be just dreams.
- I was just a child when I had this dream so please donāt mind me and the vague details. I dreamt it was spring/summer time, the trees were lively and green, the grass was green, lush, and thick, and flowers peeked from everywhere. By some trees there stood a cloth covered lectica (at least I think thatās what it was) it was like a square or rectangle tent with nobody around I was curious to see who was in there I saw a beautiful lady sitting on a chair and this lady welcomed me in for a visit. I knew this lady was a Queen but not just any ordinary Queen but the Queen of Heaven and Earth. I also knew that this lady was a Motherāa Mother for all. I donāt recall our conversation (I should have wrote it down at the time) but I do recall that this lady told me to Pray.
- About 10 or 11 years ago I was really upset, disappointed, and clueless about my life. I dreamt I was in Church and I saw a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary dressed in really dark blue I wrapped my arms around the bottom of her legs, I could feel the velvety of the Blessed Virgin Mary Statues garment and I was crying to her and saying, āI donāt know what to do with my life?ā and I donāt know if this was my mind or my heart but someone told me to Pray.
- Lately, Iāve been thinking A LOT about Our Lady of Fatima and a few nights ago I had a dream that I saw Pope John Paul II, Mother Teresa, and Sr. Lucia of Fatima now Iām not too sure in my dream if I saw them or if I saw a painting of them.
When I went to visit the Carmelite Nuns one of the Sisters was telling us that she has dreams where sheās lost in a forest but says a Hail Mary and she isnāt lost anymore.
tbcrawford- Wow! What a beautiful story and you know something I think Iāve heard or read this story before or something similar.
on_eagles_wingz- Could it be Our Blessed Mother wants you to pray for police women/men or women/men or just to simply Pray. By the way, I really like the picture of Our Lady of Fatima as your signature.
allyl- When my mom was really sick she had a dream she went to Heaven but I think Mary or Jesus told my mom it wasnāt her time also when my auntie was really ill she had a dream about Mary she pleaded and begged Mary to take her to Heaven but it wasnāt her time.
For the person who had the disturbing dream my mom told us a dream that she had, she dreamt she was kneeling down praying before a plastic statue of Our Lady of Lourdes (my mom still has this statue actually I think she has 3), Mary was covering her face and crying, and my mom asked Mary, āWhat can we do to help?ā <āSorry I donāt recall the exact question but my mom said when Mary uncovered her face it turned horrid and ugly and she yelled, āKill one another!ā
I also wanted to point out and Iām sure all of you are very well aware that Mary wantsāneeds us to go to her Son.

I was born on the Feast of the First Apparition of Our Lady in Fatima. I have not been blessed with a visit but, I know that even when I left Her side in the past, Our Lady never left mine. My daughter was born on the Feast of the Annunciation, my son was born on the Feast of the Miracle in Fatima and a grandson was born on 13th of August. Is it mere coincidence that the four of us were born on Our Ladyās feastdays? I do not know. But, I have always prayed to Our Lady to watch over themā¦and me. All three have been in very serious car accidents but, walked away unscathed. What is certain is that my heart was shielded from any hurt similar to what She felt at the foot of the Cross and I attribute protection of my loved ones to Our Lady.

Ok, this dream is much more relevant than the last one I posted. I had this dream about 4 years ago. I did not actually see Mary but a Miraculous Medal appeared.
I dreamt I was in a bedroom that was not my own and it was the middle of the night and I was awake. Everything was dark and quiet when suddenly I heard this noise from outside like a large truck was approaching so I looked outside and saw what I thought to be the lights of a helicopter in the distance coming closer. I first was excited to see something like this but then I somehow knew that this thing was not a helicopter and it was actually evil and I was afraid that it was coming for me. I got away from the window and scrambled under the cot I was sleeping on and curled up like a ball with my eyes shut tightly fearing for my life. I could hear the machine getting closer to the house. Then there was this brilliant white light that was so bright it penetrated my eyelids and of course I was terrified to open my eyes, but then I felt that this bright light was not threatening, that it was powerful but good. I carefully opened my eyes and there on the rug before me was something shining with great brilliance like it was reflecting the sun. I reached down and touched it and saw that it was a miraculous medal. Then the light dissipated and I held the medal in my hand, completely perplexed about what just happened. Then I woke up.
I also had another dream where I saw the image of the sacred heart. I might tell that one later.

The closest isnāt even much of an encounter, itās more like I prayed part of the Hail Mary when I was having a seriously creepy nightmare. It only happened a few days ago too. (Even though something tells me that was all really just my God-given bodyās way of telling me I shouldāve waited for my food to digest a little bit before hitting the sack. I was feeling very stuffed that night)
On the other hand, if I had an actual encounter, I would definitely assume that Iām hallucinating and would start calling a shrink and ask for any prescribed medication. Seriously, Mary has so far only showed up to either old pious folks or sweet little children.
Iām a cynic with geek-category hobbies whose mind is anything BUT innocent.
Iād sooner have St. Michael pick me up and train me into a Van Helsing-style demon hunter than be granted a vision of the Holy Mother.

Iāve been having visions for awhile now. I didnāt see just the Blessed Mother but the Gates of Heaven with Jesus in the middle, Mary to His right and St Joesph to His left. The gates were open with the Three standing between the opening of the gate. So there was no room to pass without through them with Christ in the middle and center of attention.
The Throne of God was in the background but I couldnāt make it out, or Him, but I knew it to be God. I could recognize the gate which looked like a roth Iron fence, with its gates open. This was on top of a cloud with Blue skys. There was no conversation.
I have had several as I mentioned but only this one with the Blessed Mother in it. The most profound was the voice of God talking directly to me. I didnāt see Him, I only saw the light but I understood immediatly who it was. Whats ironic was a I woke physically shaken, heart racing. My wife watched this happen and was up watching TV. Immediatly she could see I was frightened and asked me if I was OK? She also asked who were you talking to? I kind of blew off the questions and asked, did you hear what I said? She couldnāt understand what was said, but knew I was talking. I then explained to her what happened. I wrote to the Pope about this.
I donāt remember what I said. I do remember clearly what God said. Matter of fact if you look at the date I joined this forum, that vision was the night before.
I was born on the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows. I pray the rosary daily. Marys intercession leads directly to Her Son and everything else they desire you to known. Seek them and they will put you on the path. It may not be the path āyouā want to be on, but it will be the path they want you on.
I have no control over what happens or when or how. Its the will of God, and as He wills. I donāt try to make anything happen. I pray and use meditative and contemplative prayer. If its Gods will it will happen. I know heās right here all the time. And He knows your heart, theres no secrets, and nothing he does not know about you. Your only fooling yourself thinking this way.
I knew at a very early age God was real, from being caught in a Fire Fight and shot 5X from practially point blank range. There was no luck involved in it, I was covered by Gods hand that day. I shouldnāt have lived, and the fact I did seemed to shock everyone else more than me. The last thing I remembered was the Catholic Priest and the last rites. I woke three days later.
Dreams fade, if its of God, it will increase your faith, and you wonāt forget it. Details may be fuzzy if you donāt write it down, But youāll never forget. Now, I write down everything.
Confession is important, go to confession. I see way to many Catholics today under the impression its only neededs for venial sin. Confession will decrease your sin.
I go to a different confessor than the Church I belong to. The Priest I confess to has a deep respect for the children of the Rosary and theres a good relationship existing. I suppose it would be OK elsewhere. But God put me there. Ironic but I go to confession at Holy Rosary Church and have belonged to St Michaels for over 50-years.
Hope it helps, if not throw it out the window. All the glory goes to God and the Holy family.

Not about Mary, I had a dream where I was upstairs about to go down when I saw Jesus on the cross (life size, real in the dream not a statue), I was scared and ran past him. At the bottom of the stairs was a young woman, it wasnāt Mary, she wore brown and yellow, I cannot remember the conversations in the dream but when I woke up I searched to find who this woman was, maybe she was a saint? It turned out to be St Therese, a woman at church had handed me a prayer book with various prayers in it and one picture was of this saint. I knew it was her straight away.
I wondered afterwards that I may of Dreamt of Jesus on the cross in my home as I was hurting him with my sins.
I prayed very much afterwards to Jesus and through St Therese.
On the other hand my brother dreamt of satan many times and couldnāt stop it. It started the day he meddled with a ouija board.

When you said you donāt want to see an apparition it reminded me of something that happened to me when I was little. I am not sure how old I was, maybe about 6 or so. I had just watched a movie about either Fatima or Lourdes and it was the first time I heard that Mary could appear to children. I was so frightened and was afraid to go to bed that night. I finally told my mom that I was afraid that Mary would appear to me. My mom laughed and she was sure I had nothing to worry about because she was certain Mary wouldnāt be appearing to me!
Also, I just read somewhere on this site about mystical theology and the thought is that apparitions of Mary can only happen to children; adults could possibly receive locutions. ( this has to do with the maturity of the spiritual soul or something like that).

I had a dream. A simple dream. Probably nothing more. I am basically a high anxiety individual who has possibly never experienced āpeaceā in my life.
I had a dream one night where a person, dressed as our Lady is often portrayed in pictures or statues, was sitting at the foot of my bed. The bed, for whatever reason was very long, like 15 or 20 feet long. So she was fairly far away, way out of reach. Her back was towards me so I could not see her face. So I really have no idea who she was, or might have been. There was someone else there as well but not seated on the bed, perhaps on the floor. A male, I believe.
I was overcome with this feeling of peace. A peace I have never experienced before. A peace that was something of which I could only dream existed. It lasted but moments.
I feel it was possibly a glimpse of heaven. I do not claim it to be anything more.
But, as I began, it was a dream.

Adults can have interior visions, that is seeing with the eyes of the soul; this is what Teresa of Avila experienced. This typically occurs when experiencing the gift of infused contemplation. But physical apparitions seen with ones eyes typically occur to the young who are not yet advanced on the path pf contemplative prayer. Visions can occur in dreams as well.
