Have you ever been a victim of a demonic attack?

In the meanwhile, I have posted a prayer on the prayer thread. I read it to my husband prior to posting so he is with me on it. I thank any and all who read and join in my prayer offered there.

I KNOW I am on the right path to addressing the attacks now. And I know God is good and He is with us. In fact, it’s almost (laughable) the timing of that attack last night on me and my husband. That attack just showed me the protection and light that is already being bestowed on my husband and me from the discussions, prayers, and efforts being made. By the Grace of God my husband and I will reclaim our lives together. Our family will be healed. It’s been such a long journey. In hindsight I see this now.

Thank you, thank you. It can be such a lonely walk at times. Who would have thought that the Internet could provide such a great source of inspiration and strength?

God Bless!

AndiV.

P.S. Sorry for kind of taking over this thread.

AndiV-

I have found that this is a wonderful site with truly wonderful people. I as well, will be watching for the post on when to pray. (as a group - I call it “storming heaven”) I believe that God has sent you to this particular forum and this particular thread for support and a little helpful direction. Our God is an AWESOME God! Just a thought, but do you pray the rosary? (just the “rosary lady” promoting again:p ) I believe my family was under some sort of attack going on almost 3 years ago now, not in the same sort of way as yours, but was potentially just as harmful. When the situation came to a crisis point last year, I started faithfully praying the rosary on a daily basis. The miracles that happened were absolutely unbelievable. I know it sounds a little simplistic, and most definitely follow up with all the other avenues you have taken and those suggested also, but the rosary is a very powerful weapon. I’ve experienced it’s power 1st hand! I’d urge you to include it in your arsenol of weapons.

I went through RCIA a few years ago. So don’t take this the wrong way and think I’m trying to convince anyone to become a Protestant. I figure I have had a fairly untypical life and I don’t necessarily understand everything that has happened.

About 20 years ago I joined a wonderful non-denominational Protestant church in Jacksonville Florida. And we had a “witnessing” group that met on Friday nights and would go out to places to try to lead people to Jesus. It was my experience and thinking then that sometimes minor things would happen because the devil didn’t like us going out to tell people about Jesus.

**A) **Frequently it could be unexpected car trouble. These kind of things would happen sometimes over the period of a year.

  1. *]The outreach bus wouldn’t start.
*]I’d run out of gas in my car.
**B) **Sometimes it would be from people who didn’t want anything to do with Jesus.

    1. *]For example, once I was talking with a young woman who was listening and probably wanted Jesus. I don’t recall all the details, but her boyfriend / male companion only wanted to distract her.
*]Once I went with a good friend to a public housing project where I had had pretty good success and a lot of people prayed with me during the previous month. But this time when we got there it wasn’t long before some people started throwing eggs at us (praise God!).
      C) Sometimes the devil just wants to unprepare people so they won’t be ready to hear about Jesus.

      1. *]Once at Jacksonville Beach (on a Friday night) I saw a drug addict young man shoot up (probably heroin) and right after that a pair of Christians who was with our group went up to talk with him. Fortunately their encounter was very brief.
*]Once I saw a young woman who I had apparently talked with before. She said I came up onto their porch once right after she and her friends had just finished smoking pot. The devil had unprepared these people. But the young woman prayed with me that day to receive Jesus and she soon afterwards gave up smoking pot. So I gave her a New Testament and some instructions (attend Church, start reading the Bible, tell some other people that you have Jesus).
Perhaps one of the biggest attacks on me (and on one of my best friends) was that my friend killed himself about 12 years ago. But God has helped me greatly during this last year with the pain I carried for so long.

One more. I needed to appear before the marriage tribunal (annulment). I had remarried years before entering RCIA. Since my current wife isn’t Catholic I didn’t tell her anything about the appointment with the tribunal – she didn’t even know at that time that I needed an annulment.

On the very night before my appointment with the Tribunal, my wife couldn’t sleep at all. She said she felt like if she went to sleep she would suffocate and die. The next morning I told her to go to the emergency room – and meanwhile I couldn’t really explain but I had to go to the appointment with the Tribunal. And I had to turn off my cell phone the whole while – and I was so worried. But I went to early morning mass and prayed the Rosary (probably ten decades) before my appointment.

It turned out that my wife had a bone spur growing from her spine in her neck and it put pressure on her windpipe and also constricted her esophogus. She had surgery to remove the bone spur and is OK at this time. I hope she will go with me to Mass on St. Blase (candlemass – blessing of throats) this year. I was very worried about her surgery, because it seemed so complex to me. But it went well.

Anyway from my previous post I think you can correctly conclude that over the years (when I was in my 30’s) I figure I made a bad enemy of the devil. But greater is He who is in us. And we have grace and protection from Mary too.

Hi Teelynn,
YES! I pray the Rosary every day. Sometimes I think that is truly what gets me through each day. Some days are so difficult that all I can do is cry through it while I listen on a CD, but I still have the Rosary in my life each day.

Since you have a great love for the Rosary, I will share with you my very first experience reciting the Rosary… the first demonic attack I ever had on me was one month after I converted to the Catholic faith. It was when my husband’s friend killed himself and we were onsite where the body was waiting for the coronor. I “felt” under attack. I had a Rosary with me. It was new to me and I struggled through it, but I repeated it the whole time I was at that location. As I repeated the words I became aware of black objects flying at me, trying to enter me. But they couldn’t. It was as if I had a forcefield around me (like in the science fiction movies). These dark objects couldn’t get to me. I literally saw them zoom at me and bounce off inches away from my body. It was about a month later that my husband photographed these “objects” and their hideous images revealed exactly what the Rosary had protected me from.

God Bless!

It was a true miraculous power house for me as well. (still is;) ) Like I said, use the rosary as PART of your arsenal, ALONG WITH exorcizing the house and whatever other avenues that you are led to. It will at least help you tremendously. When I first committed myself to saying the rosary ***on a daily basis ***the crisis my entire family was going through was so profound that I had to be medicated temporarily by the Dr. My state of mind was in such a state that I started out only able to say a few Hail Mary’s a day, finally able to work up to a whole 5 decade rosary in about 3 weeks to a month. (I was absolutely unable to concentrate) A very dear friend encouraged me daily to keep on trying every day (an angel from God, my friend is!) So keep on plugging, and if you can’t finish it, don’t worry as the angels will finish it for you if you ask them. I will keep you in my daily rosary as well. Please keep us posted.

I recall a funny story about Padre Pio’s attacks and the use of teh rosary. I beleiev that he used to whip the devil with it (literally), and often refered to it as his “Weapon”. Funny guys, those saints.

Ha. 😃 I’ve never heard that story, but I like it. Pio was quite a guy, and I ask for his intercession often.

I answered “not sure” to this poll. Five years ago, my family moved from our old house in the suburbs a few miles away. In our old house we always felt like “something” wasn’t right, although we never experienced anything worthy of a horror movie.

As a child, I can remember having nightmares on almost a nightly basis, and all of us kids were afraid to be alone in the part of our house where the bedrooms were, even in the daytime. My mother told me that when I was little and just learning to talk, I told her once morning that the night before I saw a “red man” that “walked through the wall.” The bedroom that I slept in later became my sister’s room, and all of us hated sleeping in it. My sister started sleeping in the bedroom that my two brothers and I shared after she saw a “mean face” looking at her once in the middle of the night. A few years later, one of my brothers woke up in the middle of the night, and as he walked past my sister’s bedroom door saw a “little person” standing there looking at him. He was so afraid that he laid down on the floor of the hallway and covered up with a rug. When my mom saw him in the morning and found out why he was laying there, it broke her heart. After our move, we often talked about our old house and all the weird things that happened, simply because our new home is so peaceful. My mom said that one time when we came home after being away for a few days, she walked into her bedroom and almost fell over because of the heat. She lifted her hand to the ceiling and touched it and the hairs on the back of her neck stood on end. The ceiling almost burned her. She looked at the thermostat in her room and it had been turned up all the way and broken. My dad had to remove it from the wall to fix it. None of us kids would’ve been able to do such a thing.

And it doesnt quite end there. After we moved out, my cousin and his wife stayed there until we sold it. My cousin works for the railroad, and his wife was often alone in the house at night. She was sleeping in the master bedroom with the door cracked. She woke up and said she could see a glow coming down the hallway up to her door. She said a “flying saucer” or orb slipped through the crack and floated by her bed and watched her for a brief moment and disappeared.

Not at all that happened there was negative though. We’ve had a few family members and friends describe seeing “angels.” We assume so because there was a difference between the feeling the angels gave us and the feelings the other things gave us.

All of these incidents of course happened over a 10 year span (at least). But God is always looking out for us.

I should also mention that some of my most vivid nightmares when we lived in that house involved our house being a duplex, and on the other side of it lived a satanist with his little daughter. I had recurring dreams of this kind, and sometimes the man was trying to curse us or his daughter was murdered or sacrificed. Not pleasant. Right before we moved to our new house in 2002, I had a recurring dream that our new house would be oppressed by demonic forces as well, except in this dream the demons were very vivid. I told my mom, and she said it was the devil trying to scare me. I hadn’t dreamt about it since, most likely because our new house doesn’t have those problems 😉 . I’m not one to put much stock in dreams, especially because I tend to be imaginative, but what the heck. They stuck out to me.

Occasionally I’ll dream that we’re back in that house, and I’m always scared in my dream, because of my experiences in the house. But nothing usually does happen; I’m merely afraid.

In the end, don’t think that I spent the first twelve years of my life in some sort of horror movie. We never really thought too much about what was going on in our house, because all of the incidents were so separated. To be honest, I thought it was normal to be scared of your house and to have nightmares all the time.

I’ve rambled on enough now.
