Yes…before I was Catholic I did Exorcisms for Protestants/agnostics.Many times when I would try and help them I would my self come under attack. This has happens in differant ways…from haveing things hurled at me,to just a “very depressed feeling”.Most malignant spirits I seen seemed to be attached to a Place as opposed to a person(about 99.9 of my cases)but the 2 cases I seen over my 15 years where the sprits were actualy INSIDE the person were the worst, and very difficult to expell

IN GENERAL:

The Rosary is powerful!

Blessed water at home!

The devil fears the cross, so when one cross oneself often, the devil has to give in.

A blessed crusifix over the frontdoor may help.

Sceduled time (like ThornGenX talked about) for stopping temptations works fine.

The Jesus prayer: “Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me, a sinner”.

The prayer : "Jesus I trust in you! (Given to st. Fausinia)!
faustina.ch/index_en.htm

Prayer to St Michael: "St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in our day of battle; protect us against the deceit and wickedness of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray.

And you, O prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God banish into hell Satan and all of the evil spirits who roam through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen."

You can light a light for a prayer and you can pray for others:
oswc.org/VotiveChapel2/

Ignoring him! Remember that he is proud, so he don’t like to be ignored, but if we cross ourselves and continues what we are doing, he slowly will lose power.

Have a little box like the one Catholic Exchange sells at their prayerintentionpage: Like a Pelican in the Wilderness(can alo be homemade of a small box for matches were one paste a picture of Jesus at the tpo of the box). The idea is that one gives Jesus the sorrows and sufferings in a concrete way. If the ploblem is sadness, write sad with small tiny letters on a small piece of paper, put in in the box and ask Jesus to take care of it care it for you.

One very good prayerpage at a Pdf-file:

No, but what is the prayer?

St Michael’s Prayer

Saint Michael defend us in Battle. Be our safegaurd against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray and do though, oh prince of heavenly hosts, by the power of God, Cast down satan, and all his evil spirits who wonder now through out the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Hi All!

Glad that I found this particular post as I have a question that has been running through my mind for quite a while now. It seems to me as of late that the closer I try to become to the Lord thru prayer the more emotional I become in a negative way. I have seen a pattern to this that at first I thought was just coincidence but it has happened too many times. Every time I spend quality time in prayer and rededicate myself to Jesus it seems the same day I have an fight with spouse or child and am so filled with anger, hurt etc that I say mean hurtful things. Seems as though after that I am an emotional mess. The only thing I can think to do is keep calling on Jesus almost constantly to help me and eventually it seems to help. Has always sounded a little too simplistic to me that this may all be spriritual attacks but this really does happen every time I try to become closer to the Lord. Sounds silly maybe but could this be spiritual warfare?

Thanks for listening
God Bless you all!

Hello Teelyn,

It is impossible to know, based on your discription here, if this is a spiritual attack. It is important to remember that there are several “forces” at work in the world:

a) Our own fallen nature.
b) The world
c) God
d) the Enemy.

It takes careful discernment to understand what combination of things are contributing to the issue. (And I do say “combination” deliberately.) Before committing to any course of action in this situation, I would take time to meditate and consider what exactly is going on.

God might be trying to reveal something about yourself that you need to change.

misericordie,

I have prayed for you. You have already been given one saint to pray and an angel. Here’s another, St. Joseph. He is the saint for the workers and other things. So you can pray to him for finding a job.

I am a teacher as well and understand how hard it is to get a job. Just a thought that popped into my head, try to think outside the box on what you an do. With a religion teaching background, youth group leader or religion coordinator would be right up your ally.

Peace,
Jen

Hi Teelynn!

A friendly advice: Take it to confession regularly. With a priests help over time you will have progress! 🙂

This prayer helps me when I feel frustrated. May be it can be of some help to you, too:

**Lord Jesus,
you told your friends
not to worry about the future.
You showed them
how to have the attitude of simple trust
that young children have,
so that they could place themselves
into the caring hands of your Father.
And so I ask for the power of your Spirit
that I may remain positive
throughout all that is ordinary in my daily life.
I know that your touch
can change people and situations,
and so I ask you
to join me in offering to our Father
not only the good things of this day
but also the suffering and sacrifices
that I want to offer cheerfully and lovingly,
and in a quiet and hidden way.
And so may any difficulties
and frustration and pain of this day
be transformed in your presence
for the benefit of other people. Amen. **

Wish you all the best! :gopray: :bible1: ❤️

Gracias Grace and Cheese sdc,

Thanks so much for the help, especially for the beautiful prayer. I really have gotten some good helps from everyone in the forum.
I will start incorporating “The Jesus Prayer” also. Am always praying to St. Michael the Archangel and the Blessed Mother.

Pray for me and I will all of you,

Teelynn

I believe so… one time it seemed that while dreaming the devil did not like me and was pushing [my face] in my pillow literally… I thought that after the dream [even during dream a struggle was happening]

What!!! I didn’t know that…I am so interested in these true, real life accounts…if you don’t mind, please PM me the background and story of what happened…thanks and God Bless.

Yes, I have. I was part of an exorcism for 5 years. I had the protection of the Church behind me as this was Bishop blessed and priest-led.

Thanks, great idea. One minor catch is that sad to say these Church related jobs pay very little even in Catholic Elementary Schools. Who knows, maybe I will go into the public sector or a civil service job. I do want a Union membership too.

Yup, but make sure you FIRST OBSERVE what kind of a priest he is: exp: is he wise? Is he Charitable, friendly and kind? Is he COMPASSIONATE?? Also for a spiritual director it is wise to not get a guy who has been out of the seminary less than 15 years(lacks experience and has not been PROVEN with time in hearing so many confessions, and experiencing so many types of people’s problems.) Also you want to maybe avoid a Catholic FUNDAMENTALIST (an ULTRA-conservative) and avoid too a liberal. Follow Aquinas on this one: “virtue lis in the CENTER of things.” Avoid either extreme: in secular terms: find a priest over 50 and who is a moderate.

I know what you are talking about with the salary pay. I don’t know your finacial situation and how much money you need but I would perfer a job in what I love to do and get paid in a small amount than to work at a job because it’s making me wealthy. I have no idea if this is you at all, it’s my way of doing things and not for everyone.

Have you looked into the Universities? Have you looked in other parts of the country?

Peace,
Jen

Duh?

Now this is a mystery. Frankly, I don’t know how it got it. I was surprised myself to see it in the passage I pasted, but I’ve no idea how it got in. It’s the title of a book about the Desert Fathers, so I don’t think a demon put it in. I thought it must be the name given to one of the pages at Catholic Exchange. Sorry.

I think that if you were to say you have never been a victim of a demonic attack, you would be right where the devil wants you.

I think the most effective and dangerous demonic attacks are the ones that occur in our heads every day of our lives. The negatives we think about ourselves and others. I personally feel like I’ve fought a battle with him everyday of my life. The reason this type of attack is so dangerous and effective is because… (I’ll use myself for an example) -up until just recently, I didn’t realize I was fighting a battle with anyone. I thought these negative thoughts going through my head all of the time were my own! The devil has the power to put thoughts into our heads. But if we realize this, we have a stronger power through our knowledge of what he is capable of and our knowledge of God’s love for us.

Please know: any time you have a negative thought you need to cast it aside and remember that’s not how God sees you. God is inside of each and everyone of us and that makes us all beautiful in the eyes of God, and makes us beautiful in each others eyes too. Negative, condemning thoughts, actions, or deeds come from the evil one, and if we’re all conscious of this than he can not and will not win.
I’ve actually been wondering about this thread for a while due to my sinful past… I’m reading a book called, Evidence of Satan in the Modern World - Leon Cristiani. It got me thinking that while I have not been a victim of possesion, I’ve definitely been a victim of “suggestion”… another good read along this line of thinking is The Screwtape Letters - CS Lewis
Thanks for your post Beverly30 🙂
