Once I believe I was attacked. It was the strangest thing. I am not one for acting weird or taking to fancies so I trust that this experience was real. There was very little to actually describe.

I was an bed just about to go to sleep and I suddenly felt very anxious. I felt desparate as if I were desparatly unsafe from evil.

I wouldn’t say I specifically felt a presence of a demonic person but I felt more like I was in the presence of some great spiritual evil that was waiting for an oportunity to do me great evil.

I layed there for a bit but it only got worse and worse. Again I say that I am normally a very unemotional person that wouldn’t normally imagine something like this and I think if it really were imagination I think I would have given the evil presence identity or visibility.

As it was I simply felt a terrible presence of some evil and after laying there for over an hour waiting for the ill feeling to pass I figured ENOUGH! “I’m fleeing to Jesus to seek his help”.

I got up in the middle of the night and drove to my parish and walked right into our perpetual adoration chapel. I waited there with Jesus until I felt better and then I went home.

I’ve never felt anything like this before or after but I usually have in the back of my mind now the desire to know where perpetual adoration chapels are in my area so if I ever feel the need I can flee to Jesus presence.

Sadly there are not too many adoration chapels in the Seattle area that are accessable at 2 AM without any notice.

Prays be to Christ’s Holy presence that makes the most evil of demons shudder.
 
You know, I was always taught that possession occurs only on those who aren’t “saved”, that is, if you a Christian, one cannot be possessed, and, that’s what I thought this thread was. …But, after reading some of the posts…maybe. I have heard real voices at night when I am falling asleep, and, they are either scarey sounding or saying something against Christianity. I wake up when I hear them…I think I sometimes say a prayer.
 
Yes, I was attacked once by a demon (demons) when I was only six or seven years old.

It was late in the night and I fell asleep and had a horrible night terror, a enormous black tar gate, with black and pounding in my ears, the gate tarred and black, a small child goes up to the gate and opens it and black slowly flows out over white tile, then I woke up and called my mom into the room, she put me back in bed and I soon fell back asleep only to continue the night terror, now in the night terror I was in a factor of some sort, gargoyle like creatures (my assumption is they were demons) pulling levers and turning gears, one of them turns to a small child with a lollypop and then this pounding painful throbbing in my ears, my body was filled with icy pain, every moment the gargoyle got closer to the child with the lollypop the throbbing pain would continue, the demon touched the child on the head and then unberable pain woke me up, I was moved into my mom’s room (my dad was out of town) where I was in a feverish fit, I laid down and all around me gargoyles were flying in the room (although only I could see them) screaming at me yelling, perching on the dressers and staring at me with black eyes and souls, then screaming my mom pulled me into our back room and gave me some medicine, I woke up later.

Some would probally assume it was just a fever dream but I can assure you that it was to real to be a fever dream, even though it was seven - eight years ago I can still vividly remember it and am so glad it has never come back to haunt me again…

I carry a St. Benedict medal nowadays for protection, I pray to Aquinas every night to give me the wisdom to see thru the demon lies that are all around us, I carry a rosary and True Letter of our Savior Jesus Christ as well.

I am not really sure if I could live through something like that demon attack if it were to happen to me again, the vividness and horriblness of it all was something that tortures me even today, luckily faith heals all.

For those of you who have ever had anything like that happen to you, you are in my prayers…

Remember, we put on the full armor of God (see Ephesians), keep ourselves pure before the Lord so the enemy doesn’t have a foothold, and pray and worship the Lord daily to ensure that we recognize when we’re being oppressed by negative or depressing thoughts and have the authority in Christ to stand against it effectively.

A few months ago, my family was experiencing a never-ending series of illnesses that were depleting our joy and energy in the extreme. My wife and I were exhausted after spending at least 3 weeks straight in sleepless nights tending to sick children. Then one night, I was sitting in our family room praying after putting the kids to bed when suddenly I heard footsteps. Thinking it was my wife I looked across the room to where the noise was coming from, only she wasn’t there. The steps continued across the room, I could literally track them based on the noise. They stopped at our computer desk when suddenly the computer turned itself on. That was enough for me. I headed upstairs and grabbed a bottle of Holy Water and proceeded into every room of the house sprinkling the water and pronouncing prayers of deliverance in each room and over every person (see that website for specifics). I then used Holy Oil to seal every entry way into the house (doors and windows). The next day, everyone started to feel better. In 3 days, we were completely healthy.

That is not THE Prayer of Exorcism as prescribed to Exorcists appointed by the Bishops. The one I’ve given is A prayer of exorcism. which means to exorcise, which we all do, by blessing ourselves with Holy Water, Prayer, Fasting…Batism is an exorcism…

Can you explain a little what could happen, or is that something that is better to not talk about?
 
I guess I understood the question for this thread to mean an actual physical attack, not just the devil tempting you to sin like most people are talking about.

I think I have been attacked phyically many times over just the last year, but I have never really talked to anyone about it to find out. The first time was a few years ago. I didn’t really know what was going on, I was laying in bed and I could see that the light was on in the hall. I could see from the shadow under the door that someone was outside the door and talking, but I couldn’t make out anything the person was saying but for some reason it sounded like my brother. I tried to get up to talk to him, but I couldn’t move. So then I tried to call out but I couldn’t talk. Then the door opened and the shadow figure was there and started moving closer but it wasn’t moving and I wasn’t moving either so it was as if the room was shrinking. I started to try to sit up with all my strength and when I was finally able to the room was back to normal. I went down stairs where my family was still up and they said that I looked as if I had seen a ghost.

The other attacks all followed the same process with me in bed unable to move, but the one variable is that the attacker always seems to be at first someone that happens to be in the house with me. But if I am alone for the night I don’t see anyone I just feel them and hear them. Like one time I was alone and I heard someone walk into my room and I just said, “NO” because I knew what was about to happen and it proceeded to grab my bed and start shaking it up and down.

Since I have figured out how they always start, now I start to pray for help right away. There were times when I could here them walking to me and I would start to pray they would then run to try to get to me before I was done with my prayer (which was at the time the St. Michael the Arch Angel prayer). Getting this prayer out when it talks all your strength to just whisper one word took too long. So now I just say, “Jesus, help me” and that works just as well.

I also have found that when I say my evening prayers if I ask Jesus to protect me from all attacks whether they are physical, emotional, mental or spiritual, the attacks don’t happen.
 
I have sometimes wondered whether some of the Christians who attacked me were possessed!
 
I’m not sure. i’ve done somethings that may have opened a door, so to speak. but i don’t really recall being physically attacked. I heard that most of the time an evil spirit will gradually up the ante and make the attacks more severe and frequent as the years go on. it’s almost never just a sudden thing.

Years ago my family and I lived in an apartment house neighbors to a couple who were bikers. We believe they may have been into satanism because they always wore black clothes and had demonic looking tattoos on their bodies and listened to horrendous music at all hours specially when we were trying to sleep. One night I went down to talk to them about turning it down and the man (who was much taller than I) came flying out his back door at me cursing and threatening me with a look in his eyes that scared me spitless! Fortunately we had some neighbors who were Christians that were formerly bikers and my wife called them on the phone. They came over and interceded on our behalf. They didn’t mess with us too much after that. Finally we had the opportunity to move.
 
i think my friend is some times under demonic attack or influences, he confided as a child he was sexually abused by his neighbour, as an adult he is constantly failing with the sin of lust, also some days his mood is very dark, he sits at mass and is filled by loathing sometimes of his fellow parishoners also struggles to get to mass, he knows he is wrong in his thoughts and deeds, also sometimes feels god hates him and is there for other people not people like him and that he is already damned to hell, i try to tell him otherwise, what are your thoughts please, it would help in helping him
 
I don’t believe I’ve ever fallen victim to an actual attack … although I have been the victim of two people who thought I was having an attack! :bigyikes:

Let me just say, if any of you is ever around me when I’m angry, please, PLEASE, refrain from performing an ad-lib exorcism. The result is undesirable.
