Have you ever been a victim of a demonic attack?

I am having some problems with demonic powers, and I had a rather scary thing happen a few weeks ago. It was my last week at school, and I was in art class with a group of my friends. (i just graduated, but it was a catholic middle school.) I had sent my priest Fr.Jim regarding some of the problems, and all of my friends found out without me telling them. One girl’s dad is a priest (not sure which religion) and since he is one, she thinks she can bless water and make it holy, etc. Anyway, this girl started throwing “holy water” at me. I was extremely annoyed with her. Then she started continuously doing the sign of the cross on me. Then i dont remember much clearly. I heard my art teacher asking “whats wrong with her? Why is she screaming?” and the next thing i knew i was on the floor. I remember messing around with my friends, but i dont know why that happened.

Every day, The Lord keeps these things at bay. Doubt, greed, lies, hate… When he purges them, then you can see them for what they are. They are relentless, But the Lord is my shield. I hope in Him and His servants. May Virtues be my weapons. Ever mindfull of God. In thanks and praise. Tim

Yes, once.

I was once in the studio audience of the Rosie O’Donnell show. She hit me in the face with a “koosh.” This was before she was gay, though.

I was attacked in my sleep once. Said the name of Jesus and the evil spirits left .

In a way you can say that being in a state of Mortal Sin for a LONG TIME is a type of an ‘attack’.

I usually pray before bedtime at, ‘if I do not wake up, for the Lord to have mercy on my soul.’ Then after that I will ask my Guardian Angel to protect me from ‘indecent dream’ so that my sleeping house may be pleasing to the Lord.

I say that, that way if our Lord or the heavenly hosts want to be in my dreams, like many others, that I am open and available and under protection from the forces of evil.

It was in the form of a dream. While spending the night at my brother’s apartment, I saw a shadowy image of a donkey. The grin on it’s face was like that of the donkey in Shrek. However, the donkey moved in slow motion and the look was very sinister, very evil. In the dream state, I could hardly speak. My voice seemed to be muffled, but I was praying. It was Our Fathers and Hail Marys. Eventually my voice became clearer and louder. Finally I must have prayed too loud for I woke up. I have yet to tell Edwin this, he might be frightened. What gives me encouragement is that I choose to pray and not give in to the fear that I felt in the dream. It may have only been a dream, but seemed very real.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, Have Mercy on me, a Sinner. Amen.

Well, I was called a devil three times by three different people…and I haven’t attacked anyone yet…does that count???

Years ago my family and I lived in an apartment house neighbors to a couple who were bikers. We believe they may have been into satanism because they always wore black clothes and had demonic looking tattoos on their bodies and listened to horrendous music at all hours specially when we were trying to sleep. One night I went down to talk to them about turning it down and the man (who was much taller than I) came flying out his back door at me cursing and threatening me with a look in his eyes that scared me spitless! Fortunately we had some neighbors who were Christians that were formerly bikers and my wife called them on the phone. They came over and interceded on our behalf. They didn’t mess with us too much after that. Finally we had the opportunity to move.
WEll as with any threat, you should have notified the POLICE!!! Yes, best thing with animals like these as neighbors is to move.

…I truly dont know. When I first became ill, I had been under major stress at the time, but I woke up one morning with a feeling of negative anticipation…as if something bad was going to happen…I stayed home that day from work and as my then husband was going out quoting for the day (we had our own business) I went with him and we had a counter meal at a local hotel for lunch…then more quoting. The whole day since I had woken up at around 6am this feeling of dread stayed with me. Driving home for the day around 3pm with my exhusband (now annulled ) … I slowly became aware that something evil was coming close to me and closer it came … then I could take it no more and had a some sort of fit.my body tensed so badly I b roke t he bucket seat in our Monaro…after which I was in a state of catatonia …I could hear people but could not open my eyes nor could I move in any way and in fact thought that I might be buried alive as dead…the truly odd thing about it was however, I felt the most at peace I have ever been prior - indeed felt very close to Jesus. I was aware of his physical presence as great compassion and love, an overwhelming merciful love, accepting and loving…never quite had the same feeling again - not quite!..I was admitted to a psychiatric hospital where I was administered over a long period with controlled doses of LSD that I now know caused me to hallucinate and hear voices in a bizarre way. The doctors however felt that it had at least brought me out of catatonia … and contined with the LSD consistently over the next six weeks. After this I was a mental and physical wreck. I am now diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder although there is some considerable disagreement that this diagnosis is correct…the main alterna tive seems to be Depersonalization under Pressure. Altho in my 30 year history I have been diagnosed with just about every illness in the book. I am a contributing member of my communities…I am normal in every way…except for rather rare episodes of Bipolar…so called. These episodes consist in an extended period of me hearing a voice that torments me…but has never defeated me … cant get the better of me. And I refuse to give it any dignity by giving it an identity!

My then husband was told when I was first admitted I would be a cot case for the rest of my life…he divorced me…I am now an A student at an Adult Campus and return to work later this year.

I dont know what it was although friends have suggested I was attacked by something evil…and continue to be demonically attacked (tho I cannot feel its presence as when I first got ill)…my doctors sort of just shrug their shoulders…no opinion other than extreme anxiety…which could be correct also. Altho what happened in my own mind is in no way conneted with the stress I had been under. In my mind they are two separate forces. I never think about it nowadays. Whatever happened it is long gone. And the voice I can hear at times is a complete raving lunatic not worth anything. I have never been asked to hurt myself or another… only t hreatened wit h what will happen if I continue to refuse to give up my Faith. Demonic or mental illness…dont know just want to get on with a normal life and con tributing hopefully within the general community and nowadays I do!..despite the idiot at times in my head.

Barb
PS I would add that prior t o the onset of my ‘ilness’ I had established a career as a private secretary and had a reputation for being very down to earth and practical. Un til the sudden onset of my illness I had shown no signs whatsoever of any instability. On the other hand Bipolar is known to onset often in late twenties. I was 28. There is opinions that my mother had been Bipolar but within t he bounds of normality i.e. as far as I am concerned…moody!

What did you mean by this? Are you saying that living in a certain place can put someone at risk for demonic oppression? In this case would moving out make a difference?

It’s possible. The most common way to make yourself open to demonic oppression is to sin, but demons can occupy places at times. I’ve been in people’s houses and knew instantly that there were demons present. This can be the classic “haunted” house scenario in which demons pretend to be deceased people - there are no such thing - ghosts are actually demons. But the most common demonic/place encounters involve walking into a home of someone under strong demonic influence - such as an alcoholic or drug addict, someone subject to fits of rage, or someone involved in the occult, or someone bound in homosexuality or pornography. There are lots of manifestations.

That’s one of the reasons it’s wise to be careful whom you associate with. If you are always around someone who is under demonic bondage, that demon can even influence you via oppression and/or deception. A common example, a normally moral young adult goes off to live in a dorm at college. Suddenly, he/she is surrounded by others who’ve already surrendered to sins such as sexual immorality, alcohol and drug abuse as well as rebellion against authority. Over time, the people and their sin begins to wear down the young person’s moral defenses. Such temptations are hard to resist and are often demonically influenced.

Hi David…obviously you know more about this subject than I …but as I understand things demonic oppression can very well indicate a saintly soul…and your comment above may tend to give a false intention unintentionally. Many saints were oppressed by evil forces in some way. Also in the Book of Job God permits Satan to test Job who was a good man. “He was a good man, careful to do nothing evil” (Job Ch1 V1)…“Satan replied” to God who has declared Job is a good man and a faithful servant of His “Would Job worship you if he got nothing out of it?”…“Alright said The Lord… he is in your power, but you must not kill him” (JobC2 V6 ) This indicates that God can permit evil forces to oppress a good person.

Either a good person or one to the contrary can come to the attention of evil forces and if one believes one is receiving such attention in any way or form, then a priest (or an experienced director) is the person to speak to. Often evil forces that attend a good person are making an attempt to abort good and/or to turn the person from goodness.

We also need to remember that every single last one of us exists as sinners. Very often a ‘great sinner’ is simply an ignorant person of spiritual and religious truths…not necessarily intrinsically a bad person. A person who has not come to in some measure ‘know God’ (in inverted commas advisedly…for none can ‘know God’ in the intrinsic sense of the words). Whereas those of us who may have insight into spiritual and religious truths and concepts have a far higher obligation to God “to whom much is given, much is expected” …and much more will be taken obviously. Sin is not an objective ‘something’ it is the turning of the heart and mind from God to some degree. In this latter is the measurement of sin…its height, length, breadth and depth if you like.

Regards and Peace to you no matter where you buy your groceries…

I know I could not be happy in Heaven if I knew one single soul was lost to Hell…

I’m not really sure how I can explain this to make sense… Here it goes:

About three years ago I used to pray the Rosary three times a day. I loved it, I looked forward to doing so, once before schoo, once during lunch and again when I was going home from school on the bus. I loved it and I felt so free and happy.

One day, I just stopped praying the Rosary and I didn’t know why, it sempt that all trace of why I had been doing it and the feelings of it were just washed away, it was gone and I didn’t know why.

Roughly two years later, I was in a Life Teen meeting with the rest of my peers and we were discussing how the Devil so wishes to ensnare us, turn us away from God in any way possible and that he seeks for it.

It got me thinking suddenly about why I had stopped praying the Rosary when I had been doing so so faithfully and loved it all the more each time I commited. I remembered one night, kneeling next to my bed and when I picked up my Rosary and made the sign of the cross, I saw this horrible face. It was one of the most terrifying things I have ever seen in my life. Right now, as I explain this, my eyes are filled with tears and I can remember feeling so afraid.

It was a face that was blackened, the looks of it surrounded by red, the eyes looked black completely and I was terrified. It was as if I felt this horrible evil cascading around me.

I told my mom about it and she kinda made me feel bad. She told me that the devil had won, achieved what he wanted, but the strangest thing was… I didn’t remember until that night at Life Teen. I couldn’t remember why I had suddenly stopped praying until I really sat there and thought hard about why I had stopped. Sadly, even now, I’m afraid to pray alone but I do pray with my mom whenever she has some extra time.

I completely agree, Barb. The most commonly encountered reasons for demonic oppression is sin, mostly because more people get entrapped by sin than attract oppression by their holiness - sad but true. You’ve filled in a number of gaps in my statements. Well done.

Hi David…thank you for your comments…well for once I did not have my foot in things…but I was suffering from the complications of foot in mouth syndrome…heart in mouth!!!

Thank you for the confirmation! I think these discussion sites have a power to evangelize being available to the Public on the internet…what I like about Catholic Answers Forums (CAF) in particular is that there is a wealth of excellent knowledge on this site…also indeed they can start saying again having viewed the majority of Posts on this site: “see how they love one another”…Old Nick must indeed have his knickers in a knot re CAF in particular!..no surprise Tech Support are challenged rather regularly by site difficulties!!!

Thanks David

Regards Barb

Peace to all…even if you do wear white sox!!!

P.S. I will duck over to The Water Cooler and advise this also…but my “To Be Done” basket is mountainous and The Holy Spirit has given me the motivartion to attack it…so I just may be absent for a while from CAF and my favourite site on the internet for sure!..

Only my immediate family know about what happened to me.
It’s strange to share it here, but no one I know has ever asked…so I’ve never told.

About four years ago I had something evil (a demon) come to me.
I was tucking in my sleeping b/g twins when I realized that I had taken off my cross necklace. (Just a passing kind of thought…like if I had taken off any other piece of jewelry, but my cross felt like protection to me.) At the same moment, in the corner of the room was a dark figure…very hard to describe. No features…just like a black shadow, but it was in my bedroom.
I tried to scream for my DH, but at that moment it flew across the room and went in my mouth. In me. 8-(

I changed tremendously after that.

I WAS happy, content, patient, never raised my voice…ect.
Afterwards, I really felt possessed…insane…outburst of rage for no reason at all…depressed.

I honestly believe it came from a lady next door who had just moved in about a year earlier. We were having a lot of problems.
She was beating her child…her little girl would take her clothes of to children in the neighborhood…molesting other little girls at school getting suspended…on & on. Just very bad stuff.

Well, I couldn’t understand why God would let this happen to me…especially to my children. They were so affected by me.

It took a long time to figure it all out (even though I still don’t know exactly WHY). I feel it’s because God wanted me to depend on him more. I basically ignored him. I said prayers before meals and before bed, but that was it…nothing else. I had a cross or two in the house, but they were more for decoration!
I doubt if I really thought about Him during my day. We were just so happy that He showed me I forgot to give him any thanks. I probably never thanked Him for anything while I was enjoying my life with my kids…it just seemed so perfect I neglected to lean on Him or thank Him or even acknowledge all the good is only because He let it happen.

That’s all changed. Maybe it wouldn’t have changed if He didn’t allow it all to happen. With tears I say that I wish He would have done it differently because it was that awful, but I think I understand and for the first time I need to say I’m grateful He cared so much about me. Instead of constantly asking WHY and praying it never happens again… from now on I"ll say, “Thank you, Lord, for loving me so much.” Wow, that sounds & feels so much better.

Thank you for posting the question.

Hi Maria…thank you for sharing your story with us:dancing: …it could not have been an easy task if you have never shared it previously…and let us rejoice that it had such a happy outcome!..I’m sure there are more stories out there and people who are just a bit reluctant to share…and completely understandable…no easy task…and I’m sure ol nick would rather stay out of sight so no one realizes IT is still alive and active…

Thanks for sharing that Maria. It’s important for people to realize that Satan roams the world like a lion looking for people to devour . . . your experience shows that we are all vulnerable to demonic attack and that we are in a battle whether we realize it or not.

Hello all,

I would encourage everyone to read this rather long series of confessions from demons (enforced by the power of the Blessed Virgin). I gives great insight into the way that demons operate.

God bless,
Noel.
