I have spent two, three, and even four hours at a time with Our Lord in my parish’s adoration chapel. The graces this brings about are enormous, and the time just seems to fly by. Sometimes I pray, sometimes I listen, sometimes I read and meditate, sometimes I just pour out my heart (and tears) to Him. I don’t have a set time to be there, so I just go when I can.
In the times when I’ve been there a longer stretch, I’m always amazed at how many other people are there for two hours (or more!). And except for Saturday night, I have rarely seen fewer than four people in the chapel at a time, and sometimes the tiny chapel has had as many as ten or twelve people on a Sunday afternoon or evening (and we do not have a Sunday evening mass). Our pastor really emphasizes Eucharistic adoration – in his homilies and in confession
