Have you ever spent a LONG time at the Real Presence (Catholic or Protestant)?

just wondering… I’ve heard of Protestants spending time There… when a Catholic friend couldn’t fulfill his or her obligation… so i know some Protestants spend time There…

seems like not many of either persuasion do, though… 😦

We have Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist 24/7. In a few hours, I will be headed for my 2:00 AM hour. I just found out that the 3:00 AM hour adorer will not be there. Doing the extra hour is hard but it is worth it.
 
I feel honored when the occasion to take a second hour arises, especially when it’s just I and Him.
 
Since I believe the real presence is only there during communion, sitting there while no communion is going to take place would be akin to sitting and looking at unconsecrated hosts. — very little point to it.
 
I have spent two, three, and even four hours at a time with Our Lord in my parish’s adoration chapel. The graces this brings about are enormous, and the time just seems to fly by. Sometimes I pray, sometimes I listen, sometimes I read and meditate, sometimes I just pour out my heart (and tears) to Him. I don’t have a set time to be there, so I just go when I can.

In the times when I’ve been there a longer stretch, I’m always amazed at how many other people are there for two hours (or more!). And except for Saturday night, I have rarely seen fewer than four people in the chapel at a time, and sometimes the tiny chapel has had as many as ten or twelve people on a Sunday afternoon or evening (and we do not have a Sunday evening mass). Our pastor really emphasizes Eucharistic adoration – in his homilies and in confession 👍

I have, and it is very powerful and moving. You can surely feel his presence. I disagree that He only there during Communion, and believe that He is always there, and here for that matter. When you adore the blessed Host, it does move you, you do feel it, it does touch you…
 
Yes, what a privilege. We have Eucharist Adoration every Thurs night for 3 hours, and sometimes I spend the whole time there. Our Priest exposes the Blessed Sacrament in the monstrance, sings and does some prayers. Who ever is present is welcome to join him in evening pray doing the Divine Office. During adoration confession is available and at he end the rosary is prayed.

Many graces and indulgences can be recieved for praying approved prayers such as the roasry, Divine Mercy Chaplet, reading scripture in the presence of our Lord. If you have not gone to Adoration you are missing alot.

Other Christians have asked if they could come to our 24/7 Chapel for quiet prayer and some peace away from the hectic world. We do not ask if they believe that Jesus is truly present. All we ask is that they respect the Catholic belief in the Real Presence.

On the other hand, I encourage people to stop in our Chapel for 15 minutes. There are many people who come for this short period. In fact, one of the greatest benefits of 24/7 Adoration is that the Chapel is available whenever one needs Our Lord.

usually the experience has been so intense, the longest i have been able to stay is between 30 and 45 minutes at the most. peace 🙂

Well, in that case, I have sat in many a church, both Catholic and protestant in quiet contemplation for a few hours at a time. So, I guess that would be a similar thing.

Jesus is truely present in the Eucharist, even when the left over hosts are put in the tabernacle and later put in the monstrance.

If you baked something like a cake and did not eat all of it, then you put it in your cupboard and brought it out later, would the item you baked have changed? Of course not!👍

i was shocked… until i saw that you are Lutheran… now it makes sense…

once the Hosts are consecrated… they stay in the Church and His Presence is, therefore… There… perpetually… 🙂

you who said it is not necessary…

obviously have never spent any time There… in silence…
 
Back when I was Catholic, I spent many hours in front of the Eucharist, both exposed and in the tabernacle.
