As a pagan shaman and spiritual channel, I spoke many prophetic words through spirits. As a Christian, I have felt the Holy Spirit guide my words, sometimes in ways I didn’t expect. The experiences are quite different. The experience of the guidance of the Holy Spirit is more akin to my experience of what the Aboriginal Australians would call “dreamtime,” but I wouldn’t say it’s exactly that experience. Perhaps also like a “Zen” state. The Holy Spirit refreshes my soul.
 
Dreamtime and dreaming. is completely different to what you describe.

Do you know what dreaming is?
 
That’s funny, because I didn’t actually describe it. I have had only a little personal interaction with Australian Aboriginal spiritual leaders, but I did study the Aboriginal Australian culture in college. While I am by far not an expert, I do have an understanding of dreaming and dreamtime, and the different ways those terms are applied. Since it’s not the topic of this thread, I’ll leave it at that brief statement.
 
I believe more than once I have done so. But, sadly, have spoken some contrary to it as well back before I was going to confession and to mass frequently (away from the church).

For those with the charism of prophecy, it can be a daily occurrence. But, and this is crucial, prophecy is not what many think it is. Any spoken word which edifies is prophecy. It is good to discern our charisms, as we are expected to use them for the building up of the Church. Ref: Matthew 25:14-30.
 
I believe I hear prophetic words in homilies. And, yes for those of us here we come across it quite frequently compared to those who don’t attend mass and use the sacraments properly (not that I’m the best at it–and only by the Grace of God).

The top quote is quite in error.

Yes it would make an interesting topic and thread. You won’t have spoken with any genuine ‘spiritual leader’ .

We can discuss the reasons for this on a new post. Aboriginal culture doesn’t do new age , it doesn’t have shamans and it doesn’t have spiritual channels. It doesn’t practice prophecy.

This is a scam sold to naive new age etc aficionados last century and early this century. Someone conned a lot of people.

You have no idea with whom I’ve spoken. You sure are reading a lot into one sentence to be categorically saying it’s wrong. You’d have to know my experiences with the Holy Spirit, my experiences with Australian Aboriginal spirituality, and what exactly I meant by the comparison. If you decide to start a thread on the topic, I’ll look for it. As it is, all I stated was opinion based on my experience, and without enough details to be right or wrong. You made an awful lot of assumptions about me.

Note; I never said Aboriginal “shaman.” I said spiritual leaders. The term “shaman” comes from Siberian peoples. Modernly, anthropologists apply it to the spiritual leaders of many cultures, including Australian Aborigines, and most New-agers think it has something to do with Native Americans. (To be fair, the Alaskan Inuit are related to the Inuit and Yakutsk people of Siberia, but other than that, no cultural connections between Siberians and Native Americans.)
 
Well if you wish to start a thread, great. I am in Australia, have spent quite some time with both traditional and non traditional Aboriginal people, and artists.
I can dispel a few of the myths and explain a little.

I believe so; but who knows. There are times when I am Evangelising that I wonder, did I say that: in a good way of course. Then there are times when I specifically ask for guidance and words. I ask my Parish Priest how to know if the word is from the Holy Spirit or the enemy. He simply stated the Holy Spirit only brings peace; the enemy brings anxiety and many other stressers.
On another note my Grandson said Grand-dad you should have been a Preacher! Nah I said, you know the story of Moses? Last week he said i was a badass because I ride a 🏍️. I cant take his prophecies to serious, lol
 
No, but I often have occasion to tell people that if they try to use their computer the way they are currently doing so, then they won’t get their desired result.
