If I didn’t laugh, I might cry.It didn’t help that the Easter before we had been “treated” to a piano rendition of Here Comes Peter Cotton Tail after the recessional as we were leaving church.

Yup, but from what I have seen a lot of the “trained” music folks out there just don’t get it. I feel sorry for some of the music folks themselves. They are hard working and often mean well, but they can’t always help the way they were brought up. However, I am less than thrilled with the folks who trained them and the church authorities, who have allowed our music to degenerate so badly. They know or should know better. If I didn’t laugh, I might cry.
God bless him. A little bit of John 6:66 in that parish, huh?Not counting health or kid issues (and those have been rare) I don’t believe I’ve ever walked out on Mass. I’ve seen people walk out a couple times. We have a local priest who’s very traditional & conservative and he doesn’t pull any punches in his homilies. I’ve been at a couple Masses where one or two people walked out because he was speaking out against abortion & contraception, but I’ve heard from other people who have seen as many as a couple dozen people leave in the middle of one of his homilies. To be clear, he’s preaching valid, traditional Catholic dogma, yet the people in his parish get so upset at hearing it that they leave.
That actually brings up a question for me. I am a convert, since 2009. Now, I haven’t gone to confession since my first one, so I never receive communion at Mass. I usually just leave before that whole part of the Mass, because that’s how we did it in RCIA (since we couldn’t take communion, there was no point being there.) Is this a valid thing to do, IE leave after the “Mass of the Catechumens”?Before I was received into the Church, sometimes I would leave when they began distributing Communion.

You’re no longer a catechumen, so you are obliged to stay even if you can’t receive. Instead, make an act of spiritual communion, spend the time in adoration and prayer, or if your parish has Confession at the same time as Mass, go get in line so you can receive. That actually brings up a question for me. You are no longer a Catechumen, but a fully initiated member of the Church so you should stay for the entire Mass. And, as a fully initiated member of the Church, you have an obligation to confess your mortal sins once a year and receive Eucharist at least once during the Easter season. This is one of the Precepts of the Church, and is in the Catechism for your reference. That actually brings up a question for me. I am a convert, since 2009. With the emphasis on the ‘mortal sins’. Theology101, are you sure you are in mortal sin? You do know that venial sins don’t have to be confessed, don’t you? Are you denying yourself Holy Communion unnecessarily? You are no longer a Catechumen, but a fully initiated member of the Church so you should stay for the entire Mass. The existence of Black Masses is relevant.None of this has anything to do with the topic. Thus, it is a strawman.
I’ll go with it’s valid to Satanists.Whoa whoa whoa—Black Masses are valid? I have to throw a flag on that one.
The existence of Black Masses is relevant.
Here’s my syllogism:
Black Masses are valid Masses.
We must not take part in Black Masses and would leave one if it started where we were.
Therefore some Masses we must leave and it’s a sin to stay.
Now along the spectrum, there are many other things that would make me leave.
The Lord is the focus of the decision. I would leave only out of love for Him, to avoid seeing Him being disrespected.
The first premise of the syllogism is false, which may be why I consider it a strawman.Whoa whoa whoa—Black Masses are valid? I have to throw a flag on that one.
Why would a Christian Catholic church perform a Satanic black mass??The existence of Black Masses is relevant.

It’s a shame, too, because it’s a beautiful church and he’s a great priest. The thing that gets me is that the ones walking out on him are likely the ones who most need to hear what he’s saying.God bless him. A little bit of John 6:66 in that parish, huh?
Will you please explain what this means. As a new Catholic it’s a term I haven’t heard before. ThanksHe also was encouraging some laymen to truncate the host.
Of course I’m not taking about Catholic Churches. I’m talking about validly ordained priests (eithe apostates or those who infiltrated the Church to be ordained) using valid form and matter, with intent to consecrate, but also with an intent to desecrate the host as par of an evil ritual. Such a thing would be valid. Why would a Christian Catholic church perform a Satanic black mass??
Its one thing a Catholic Mass having bad music or sermons but having a black Mass that worships Satan in a Catholic church…i dont think such things happen
