I would like to know if you pray the Rosary, and if you have specific intentions for yourself or others, and have you seen ‘mini miracles’ through Mary’s intercession? I look forward to the stories!!!:bounce:
Yes, I do pray the rosary as well as the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and other prayers with my wife daily. I even started a thread for us here on the forum to pray the rosary and chaplet of Divine Mercy regularly for the Church and those on this forum. I would refer you to the thread on prayer intentions. Please sign up on this and encourage others to also sign so we can really get a prayer army going.

Franjos,

Thank you for your inspirational post. Very powerful, very real. Everything you’ve said is so true.

Let’s all continue to keep each other in our rosary prayers!

Hi “whatevergirl”. Through God’s grace… and the intercession of Our Blessed Mother… I have been praying the Rosary for awhile now. I also give some credit to EWTN… for “re-teaching” me this beautiful devotion (you can get several versions of “The Rosary” from EWTN, on CD or DVD). I think it was Our Lord’s Will… that I begin to honor His Mother, in this way. By praying her “psalter”. Which in reality… is contemplation on the life of Jesus! (Our Lady always leads us TO Jesus!). Isn’t it beautiful, how the lives of Jesus and Mary intertwine… so gracefully.

I usually manage only one Rosary a day… but on occasion, have found the time for two. I’ve always been attracted to the Rosary… but years ago… I fell victim to the LIE (which satan tells us) that… “it takes too long to pray the Rosary… so don’t”.

Let me repeat… for anyone who will listen. That is a LIE. Saying 5 decades of the Rosary only takes about 15 minutes… and the benefits you gain from this devotion are too numerous to mention. It is WELL WORTH the 15 minutes it takes… and provides such a conduit for grace and closeness to Jesus.

I HIGHLY recommend the most Holy Rosary to everyone! God bless! 🙂

I believe that the rosary is effective for many people and I try to pray it every day.

However, I can’t say that I personally have had any of the intentions I prayed it for answered. I continue to pray it for penance and thanksgiving to God but I no longer attach any specific prayer intentions.

I just started praying the Rosary on my commute home this week and I can honestly say that it has improved my drive! I was concerned that I would have trouble concentrating on both things, but then when I thought about it I listen to the radio going home every day and I can concentrate on that and drive, why not the Rosary?

It’s pretty hard to get angry at other drivers when you’re praying! 👍

Remember, God always answers our prayers. Not necessarily as we want the answer, but as is best for our salvation. Keep your trust in him and you will never go wrong.

How inspiriational this thread is. I can say early in my conversion I prayed the rosary and during the luminouse mysterys Jesus’ baptism to be exact when the holy spirit came and said “this is my son whom I love…” I was overwhelmed. Also I did not have any intentions and something else happened…I felt such a presence and was amazed becuase for the first time in my lif I prayed and it had nothing to do with me I did not bring any worries or concearns regarding me ot loved ones. I must admit I never quite felt like that again…still it was amazeing.

I’ve experienced so many beautiful things with the rosary, that I wouldn’t even know where to begin! It’s my favorite prayer, and since joining the Confraternity of the Holy Rosary and the Legion of Mary I have come to love it even more.

Most recently, I was fervently praying for the soul of a someone who had already died. I’d been discussing with some friends whether it was legitimate to pray for something after-the-fact, and eventually I decided I would pray for this soul, begging the Blessed Virgin to help if possible, and, if not, to apply the graces to some other poor soul in need of it.

I felt a little hopeless, and more than a little silly, but I prayed rosary after rosary for this intention… that this soul was in the state of grace at the time of death. I never expected to know in this lifetime, but I prayed.

I can’t even begin to express the wonder and gratitude I felt when I found out that this particular person had converted prior to death! Though I have no guarantee of the state of his soul at the hour of death, any more than I have any guarantee of anyone, the incident has deeply increased my devotion to the Blessed Virgin and the rosary, and my love for them.

Another great testimonial, this is great… MD, I too add loved ones who’ve passed away to my Rosary intentions. All I can hope is someday when I am gone, someone else will remember me in this great prayer.

In another thread I wrote…

Each one of us experiences darkness of the soul in one way or another. If you have read my testimony here, I guess everyone would see that I did not only experience darkness in my soul, but I was also chained by sinfulness.

And the journey from ‘sinfulness’ to ‘grace’ is a very dark, confusing, troublesome and a very rough road. There are so many obstacles and distractions. But, the grace of God and help of the Blessed Mother Mary is very much sufficient. With these experiences, I would like to share everyone what happened to me along the way…

Six (6) months ago, when I started to commit myself to pray everyday the 15 Mysteries of the Blessed Mother, I experienced the following:
  1. I could not feel any significant effect of the Rosary.
  2. Many times, my mind is so distracted and so confused.
  3. At times, I doubt if God even bothers to hear my prayers.
  4. Many times, i doubt the good effect of the Rosary in my soul
  5. At times, the arguments of other religions about Mary, and Catholic’s doctrine seems very logcial;
  6. One time I felt a complete blackness and deafness (without any inspiration) from above, that I cried to the Holy Mother - My Queen why is it so dark?
  7. Most of the time, whenever I pray, things about jobs or projects starts to pop-up just to distract me from reflecting the mysteries.
  8. At times, I am sleepy.
  9. I could hardly schedule praying.
  10. And many more distractions and temptations - with only 1 objective - to make me stop praying the Rosary.
So, I told myself : If all these things are happening just to make me lose my patience and to stop praying the Holy Rosary. Then what I will do is to promise myself to pray the Holy Rosary everyday - no matter what.

‘No matter what’ means, to pray the Rosary :
  1. Even if I like to pray or not.
  2. Even if I doubt its effect or I feel its effect.
  3. Even if I am distracted or at peace.
  4. Even if I fall into sin or in grace.
  5. Even if I think God does not hear my prayers at all.
  6. Even if I am sleepy.
  7. Even if it feels so dark, and
  8. Even if my mind tells me that the most logical thing in the world is- NOT TO PRAY THE ROSARY.
I continued to struggle (even against myself), but grace and help from God is always around. After several months, the Holy Rosary has manifested its marvels. I have seen its effect in my soul. It became like a compass that told me were I should go. It became a guiding star that will lighted my dark path and lead me continiously to God. It explained to me well and clearly the doctrines of the Catholic Faith. It has shaken off my evil/lustful desires and evil thoughts.

And I can tell you many things, but I guess experience those things yourself will be your best teacher. With the above testimony about the Holy Rosary, I would not dare say I am now holy, nor would I claim I am now perfect. For I am a mere sinner struggling to live a holier life.

All I can testify is with the Rosary in my life, my heart and soul is now better, the vices and traps of the devil suddenly became obvious, and my dark soul has seen God’s light. The Holy Rosary is a gift of a Mother for Her children who is willing to receive it and its promised graces.

May God and the Blessed Mother give your bountiful graces.

Thank you so much for this post! I’ve been praying the 15 Mysteries daily and hope to keep it up for the duration of the summer for several intentions which are very close to me, and I’ve felt the same feelings you did even though I haven’t even made it a full month yet! I really wanted to just set aside a full hour for only thinking about the Rosary instead of doing it along with something else (like at work when I’m focused on my job and not meditating on the Mysteries). Thank you for giving me encouragement to continue praying it for the rest of the summer!
