Have you spoken with the only one with all the answers to your questions lately? If you have not, why? He is the only one who can truly answer your questions.
are you afraid to hear his voice or are you afraid of what you thought was right all this time is not? Do you feel that you are not worthy enough to speak with him? He is your father, he loves you regardless and wants us to come to him anytime to speak with him no matter what.

Fear not,sit quietly alone and speak with him then listen to your soul. Your soul is your true connection with GOD.
Hes right there with you, speak with him and be amazed at how close you truly are to him.

yeah yeah yeah, so much unbiblical drivel. We are given the church because GOD gave it to us, not because of man. Does that mean we don’t pray to God directly? Of course not, every catholic has a close personal relationship with God. But niether do we spurn the gift that God gave to us in the form of His Church.

Its seems like you are speaking from the catholic churches view and not your own individual views and feeling. You mentioned how,“Every Catholic has a personal relationship with GOD”
I am not asking the “catholic” Im asking the individual who can speak their own words and not behind the Catholic Churches views.

and for what reason should I not SHARE my view with the catholic view? I am not some automaton, I CHOSE the catholic church because it obviously bears the seal of the Holy Spirit.

To you, religion is about your feeling good… to catholics, it is about what God desires of us. You ask when the last time I had a personal connection with God was… well, every day. I ask you now when the last time you subverted YOUR desire for the will of God.

are you a Christian storm? as I can’t work out from your posts whether or not you are?
and I mean conventional Christian as defined by the mainstream

I talk to God daily…nearly constantly when I am alone. I used to have the habit of talking to myself and just replaced it with talking to God.

Its great to share your cathloic views its all great,I very happy you are proud to be a cathollic and stand up strongly for it, good for you! I see that you are more offended that I might be attacking the catholic church and its members and I am not.One thing is that even though Iam not catholic I respect all faiths and will never attack anyone’s belief.GOD IS GOD regardless of denomination.

I was trying to get individual responses on the personal relationship with GOD.

“Subverted my desires for the will of GOD”

Hmm… Good question, gotta think on that one. its been a while I guess, why you ask?

Hey,If Im pissing you off we can stop this conversation because Im not here for fighting and arguements.

Talking to God is unbiblical? Did I miss something? I thought the Bible was filled with people talking to God. Actually, I know the Bible is filled with people talking to God. Not the apostles so much, though. I don’t think there is a single verse in the Bible that says that one of the twelve “prayed”. Jesus yes, apostles no.

Did I miss some underlying point here?

Wow! Is that ever a bold claim. “Many” wouln’t have made me blink an eye, “most” I would have considered bold but believable, “the vast majority” I would have said that was stretching it, “every Catholic” isn’t believable. I have personally met Catholics who care less about God than the average atheist does. I’m related to some as a matter of fact. They see the Church as a sort of social club. “I’m a Canadian Catholic Kiwanii, but not necessarilly in that order.”

Cheers

P.S. I think I should quit posting now. I might come up with a line that I like more than “Canadian Catholic Kiwanii” but I find it hard to imagine how.

Hey storm.

I’ve noticed that you do seem to draw a lot of flak for your posts. I think I know the reason. People on this board are really sensitive to people coming along and attacking their faith. (You know those really jerky people, like me. :p)

Many of your posts seem to resemble attacks on the Church from protestants, so those are the responses that you are getting. Perhaps if you explained your reasons for posting the questions (something like, “Hey, I do this… do Catholics do the same?” Or “I feel this… do Catholics feel the same?”) People will feel more like it is a question than an attack.

I am right aren’t I, that you aren’t trying to actually criticize the Catholic point of view?

You come across as very intense. I wonder why in a Catholic board you seem to be asking the question whether or not people pray? Do you think some people might find this offensive?

Can’t help the intensity, Im from New York City,we stay intense.LOL!
My question before was not whether people pray but I wanted to know if people were praying to the Virgin Mary and they answered that for me.
The reason Im in the catholic boards is because this is where I get great answers from!

I thank everyone here!!
