Today marks the Tenth Anniversary of Saint John Paul’s II death. He always reminded of the disciple whom Jesus loved, the one whom laid his head on Jesus’ breast.

So hard to believe that ten years have passed already since this happened. To me it seems that all those events surrounding it just happened a couple years ago.

As thousands gathered in St. Peter’s Square, I remember thinking that “he taught us how to live. Now, he’s teaching us how to die in the love of the Lord.” It’s as if his pontificate was punctuated at the beginning and end with “Be no afraid!”
