Sometimes a simple call to the parish secretary or the Parish Council members, or picking up the Sunday bulletin!
Of course! I am blessed to live in a city with a huge catholic population and very vital parishes. But, yes, if the website is lacking, then a call to the church parish secretary would be best alternative.

I grew up in the country in the Ozarks, and knew more fundamentalists than I knew Catholics. Back then, if you lived among them, you were immersed in their world because they lived it all the time.

I’ll admit that I find a lot of attraction in southern fundamentalism. But never would I join one of their churches. Not for any reason at all. I’m not what they are. Evangelicals are a different thing. Some are southern fundamentalists and some are not. I would go to one of their churches even more reluctantly than a classic southern fundamentalist church.

And I would consider it a betrayal of my Catholic wife if I did. I would be telling her that we no longer shared the most important thing in both our lives.
