Tweety,as a Catholic you are surely not confirming what Roc stated,
That Baptism has been cheapened by the Catholic Church and that Catholics
have not truly experienced conversion of the heart.:(Carlan
I am saying like rocket has said that my baptism as a babe meant nothing to me until I accepted Christ when I was 38. My real baptism was then. Maybe yours was when you were a babe. Maybe maybe key word

I am not under standing you, if as a babe your Baptism was
Catholic(in the name of the TRinity) Then you were indelibly sealed. if you lived a life of sin as you grew up to the age of 38 and then at that time turned away from the sinful life and responded to God’s actual grace , you were forgiven and restored to his sanctifying grace, it was not a new real Baptism you received at that time, the real Baptism was as a babe. Your conversion was the result of you responding to God’s actual grace. Even though you believe your Baptism as a babe meant nothing to you. It was a Biggie to God,He knew about it all along, and when he had you in the place you had to be in order to listen to him, that is when he was able to turn your life back to him. He zapped it to ya!:DCarlan

Maybe to you my second Baptism meant nothing but to me and God it did… Not being rude just explaining if you didn’t experience it would mean nothing to you. Anyway God Bless

And I say the Holy Spirit stays in the temple, because It has been sanctified by Jesus Christ. There is nothing biblical anywhere that the Holy Spirit moves out of the person as a result of mortal sin. Even David, in the midst of his sin, desired not to be cast away from God’s presence and feared that the Holy Spirit might be taken from Him. And do we not have a better covenant than he? Haven’t we been sealed with the King’s ring?

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
Restore me to salvation.

He had to lose his salvation first in order for it to be necessary for him to ask God to restore it to him.

Gosh Tweet, A time has got to come when we stop leaning on our own understanding of things. We have got to trust Christs Church and her teachings, He promised he would never forsake her, The gates of hell will not prevail against her. If we just believe! Lord help our unbelief.:)Carlan

There have been many and many of converts who have never been baptized as an infant that have claimed the same as we. So I don’t know if you can p(name removed by moderator)oint the results of our conversions back to the infant baptism.

**So now, you can *read ***hearts? I thought only GOD could do that.
Be very careful about making this claim, my anti-Cathollic friend. The Scriptures are replete with the punishments of spiritual pride.

As Jesus told Nicodemus, “Amen, amen, I say to you, one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit” (John 3:5) - I was reborn at Baptism. Just as circumcision was part of the Old Covenant, Baptism replaces circumcision in the New Covenant.

Just as the parents/guardians would have the child circumcised as part of their Covenant with God in the OT, the parents/guardians in the New Covenant do the same**.
You must remember - NT fulfillments are ALWAYS more glorious and perfect than the OT types.

I know you find this difficult to understand because of your man-made traditions that sprang up in the last 400 years or so - but it’s ALL in the Scriptures.

PS - I see that you still refuse to answer my questions and have instead chosen to dodge them again . . .
People are not reborn because of a water baptism. Christian water baptism was not in existence when Jesus had his conversation with nicedemus.

Nope - just puzzled as to why your parish would allow such an anti-Catholic to teach catechumens. It brings to mind Matt 7:15-20:

"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but underneath are ravenous wolves.
By their fruits you will know them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?
Just so, every good tree bears good fruit, and a rotten tree bears bad fruit.
A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a rotten tree bear good fruit.
**Every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire. **
So by their fruits you will know them."
That was not very Christ-like to say you used scripture to insult a child of God? What Christian would do that? You should apologize to her; you just said people cannot read hearts then you do the exact same thing with that post and worse you used the Word of God to do it…shame on you, shame on you.

Catholics believe that Baptism remains in the soul forever more it is an indelible mark.
Weather is rec’d as an infant or an adult.

Restore me to salvation.

He had to lose his salvation first in order for it to be necessary for him to ask God to restore it to him.
“Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit”

Don’t leave out the word “Joy”

When we sin we suffer the assurances of our salvation.

“Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:”

No Rocket, you are wrong Judging us according to what you experienced, We are all sinners and we have experienced God saving love every bit as much through Christ’s death on the Cross ,Baptism through the Father , Son, and Holy Spirit, complete cleansing of original sin,Justification and the filling of our souls with sanctifying grace, so as to live the process of growing in holiness through out our life while on this earth so that we can be with him in heaven forever.

I am sorry that you accept the false doctrine of Calvinism, and that you have turned your back on the complete Truth taught by Christ’s Apostles and handed on down to us through their successors with the power of the Holy Spirit. Catholic doctrines were given to his Church by Christ himself. Your doctrine of regeneration was given in rebellion by a man 5oo years ago.
Hi Carlan, you sound like you are upset. The Bible does not teach about a single Catholic church and by no means did Jesus mention such a church. Read the first 3 chapters of revelation to get a picture of how the Lord Himself watches over His churchs on earth within each is the true church of God from all walks of life, not restricted to one church denomination. Jesus told us the Father looks for worshipers who worship in “spirit and truth”; neither is visable and we know that within any congregation there are those who worship in spirit and truth and those that do not. This would be contrary to the Lords own teaching and the reality we see in the world of Christianity.

No MacD, Just tying to defend the Apostolic faith as handed down through time since Pentecost.:DCarlan

This is not hyperbole. This is a commandment. Didn’t Peter say, “stand up” or did he say he was the vicar of Christ?

As Peter entered the house, Cornelius met him and fell at his feet in reverence. But Peter made him get up. “Stand up,” he said, “I am only a man myself.”
This is a more accurate translation from the NKJV:

Acts 10:25
As Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him and fell down at his feet and worshiped him.

Cornelius was used to people worshiping Caesars as gods (who were but men just like Peter). Peter knew that Cornelius did not understand that this type of worship is for God alone.

A vicar is one who represents another and acts as a steward, administering the position held in lieu of the true sovereign. The pope is merely doing his duty towards God since God chose him to be chief steward of His/Jesus’ Church on earth and therefore He entrusted him with the keys of the kingdom of heaven (His sign of authority).
And didn’t Mary say: “My soul doth magnify the Lord
God is her creator. In those days “magnify” meant to glorify; praise; extol. Her soul praised God. So should ours.

And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.
“Move you” means to encourage; help. The person who is being encouraged or helped still has to choose whether to follow His decrees and keep His laws. God does not force him against his will to follow His decrees or keep His laws. God gave man free will to choose “either” way.

Worship in the spiritual realm is for God alone; any other type of worship of the spiritual nature will violate the first two commandments and the second one particularly. God tells us to honor those who are in earthly authority and even says that pastors who work hard at preaching and teaching are worthy of double honor, but that is at a human and worldly level not the spiritual level. This is why Jesus said the the Father is seeking worshipers who worship Him in spirit and truth.

I do not believe you have a grasp on freewill because it is very difficult to get a handle on. But once you decided by free-will to deny yourself completely before the Lord you put your complete trust in Him, which means you give up your will for a better will, which is the will of God. When you are disobedient to His will, He will chasten you till you come back to His will or He will remove you altogether. So in that since you are bought with a price and the free will you have remaining is disobedience but because the Christian is His He will press His will against that disobedience even to the point of death as the Bible teaches us.

Well let me say my conversion came at my sevond Baptism. Sorry if it causes you a problem, I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. thank you

Here is a better way to imitate Him don’t you think? Do you keep these commandments?

**But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,

Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also.

Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.

And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.

And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.

And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.

But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:**
Is this a rhetorical question?

I do my best to cooperate with God’s grace (the indwelling Holy Spirit helps me (moves me/encourages me) to keep His commandments). My desire is to please Him so I choose to listen to Him and do what He asks of me.

You have done a great job of jumping right in there. God Bless you Told you I am always in trouble:thumbsup:

Christ Jesus Came Into the World to Save Sinners.

And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink. When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken: taken:

Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with publicans and sinners? And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Yes, He did.

However, He also said:

John 5:14
Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.

We have been made well/saved through baptism. We must sin no more or else we will be worse off than if we had never been saved in the first place.

2 Peter 2:20-21
For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. 21 For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them.

Sinned. Saved. Sinned. Salvation lost. Now worse off than before we were first saved.
