I am confused on why you think it necessary that they get the (name removed by moderator)ut of the laity? I want to be led by the truth that is constant (the church) not by societal demands which flux continuously. That would tend to make the church driven by our worldly nature, not our spiritual one. They differ and are at odds with each other. What are you disagreeing with? You proved my points. The Church doesn’t listen to the laity that much; like you say, the Magesterium is comprised of men who make up/interpret the doctrine. Are they asking for any (name removed by moderator)ut? No, not that I’m aware of. Nobody says they have to change anything based on laity (name removed by moderator)ut, but do they seek the (name removed by moderator)ut and listen to the reasoning given?
I think the consistency of the church is important. We need to be led and conform to Christ, not demand the church conform to us.
The masses are not always right, sadly enough. The correct path is often the difficult path and many times the unpopular one.
