Has anyone ever prayed for something, and then felt a very peaceful and happy feeling afterwords where it felt like God was telling you the answer? Did that answer eventually come true?
Fr. Robert Barron gives us another picture based on biblical accounts of an encounter with God:Has anyone ever prayed for something, and then felt a very peaceful and happy feeling afterwords where it felt like God was telling you the answer? Did that answer eventually come true?
Exactly. The sentiment I found one day in Flannery O’Connor (below) and the one I blog to:My ear is open.![]()
Spoken like a true Yankee fan…This warm fuzzy feeling happens to me a lot. It feels like God. I’m not going to say it’s my wishful thinking, because I don’t believe that our thoughts are our own. I have feelings that come from the devil also. I know he wants me to think it’s me. God bless you Derek Jeter:thumbsup:![]()
I guess the question becomes: how does one feel when God answers, but not the answer you wanted?I’d be cautious about mistaking warm-fuzzies as a reply from God: it could just be your own wishful thinking. (Even if the “answer comes true”—sounds like you’re wishing on a star—that doesn’t necessarily mean the warm-fuzzies were from God.)
