You can`t believe anything that the WBTS members tell you; and that includes any of their literature. Their Bible is very badly mistranslated in some areas; and they quote verses out of context, as virtually all of our opponents do.
On Doomsday, for good or for ill, the soul will be reunited with a resurrection body. Purgatory will cease to exist.
Those in hell will have ugly, physically suffering bodies.
Those in Heaven will have glorified, perfectly coordinated, graceful bodies.
The JWs get it wrong with their belief in spirit bodies (for only 144,000).
There`s no such thing as a spirit body.
They believe that angels (good and fallen) have spirit bodies.
They believe that GOD, HIMSELF has a spirit body!

God is pure spirit; so are the angels and our own souls.
2 Peter 3:10 says:
But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.
The word “hell” used to mean the abode of the dead, as in the Apostles Creed:
“He descended into hell…”
These days, there
s a growing tendency to say: "He descended to the dead......"; and thats a better way to say it.
Our Lord
s human soul went to the state of the souls of the dead. The souls of the just were unable to "enter" Heaven until Jesus Ascension, when He led them into Heaven, and the Beatific Vision which is the greatest happiness of the lot: spirit-to-Spirit contact with God. A union of knowledge and love, with an awareness and love of all of the other blesseds and the angels.
“And death and hell…” Revelation 20:14:
The Good News translation says:
“Then death and the world of the dead were thrown into the lake of fire…”
The New Living Translation says:
“Then death and the grave were thrown into the lake of fire…”
Others say:
“Then death and hades…”
So, Saint John is just saying that there will be no more death.
