So Jesus and Mary’s bodies are able to have gone to and be in heaven because their glorified bodies are different from unglorified bodies? The Pope said heaven is a place for spirits like angels and our souls. Is the glorified body spiritual?
Does this answer my question?

Imperishable soul
  1. The words that can be considered the synthesis of Pauline anthropology concerning the resurrection take their place in this context. It will be opportune to dwell longer here on these words. We read in the First Letter to the Corinthians 15:42-46 about the resurrection of the dead: “What is sown is perishable; what is raised is imperishable. It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power. It is sown a physical body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a physical body, there is also a spiritual body. Thus it is written, ‘The first man Adam became a living being’; the last Adam became a life-giving spirit. But it is not the spiritual which is first but the physical, and then the spiritual.”

Anyone know?

Also, I just read something that said according to the Bible the universe is infinite. Where does it say this and does science support it?
I like to know where you read the universe in infinte before we go on…no one today believes that without reservations

i risk being off the mark to the context of your question, but the author and catholic educator, scott hahn, offers reflections on the connection of Revelation and the Catholic Mass-for further reference…personally speaking (challenge if you wish)-in revelation there are 'beings’who give God glory…of course, the Holy catholic mass is the pleasant setting to give God glory…perhaps, my explaination is in context to the moment of prayer… to use the logic -spiritual senses, such as eyes and ears are happily opened-thx patrick

I don’t remember where I read it, somewhere on the Internet, possibly a non-Catholic site.

Hi David. Faith1960 gave a link to the New Theological Movement blog that prompted this thread. In my post #13, I quoted the paragraph by Fr. Erlenbush where he uses the expression “glorified place”.
Fr. Erlenbush did say this isn’t official Church teaching but his own reasoning. Now that some time has passed since the OP, I was wondering if anybody might have he official Church teaching on this now?

Or could heaven be in a dimension outside the created universe? Outside all the kjown galaxies that we can see, outside all the created planets and universe(s) God created?

Well, doesnt the bible say its right here on earth? If this is true, then its in another dimension or plane of existence, it may be in the same place as where we live, but we are just not able to see it until we die…many near death experiences, the people have said dying is similar to switching stations on a radio, in that we ‘switch over’ to that dimension where heaven is when we die.

Its not something we are meant to understand when we are alive though, if we were meant to know, it would be discussed in depth in the bible, but even if it were, I have a feeling we could not comprehend it.

I once heard this description someone gave regarding extraterrestrial life and their home planets…this is probably the same when dealing with ‘where heaven is’…think about the fish in our lakes and oceans, their ‘world’ is under the water, this is literally all they know, they have no idea how complex the rest of the world is just above the surface…so when someone goes fishing, and catches a fish, they get yanked out of their world and get a brief glimpse of the real world, but still, they cant comprehend our world, and they are only seeing the area their ‘home’ lake is in anyway, they would not know about the large metro areas, the desert regions, mountains, etc.I believe this is probably pretty close to what heaven is like and where it is…(right around us, but just enough to be out of reach, and even if we did get a glimpse, we would be like the fish out of water, we could not comprehend it.)

Hopefully this helps.

Thanks for your reply. The part I’m stuck on is if Heaven is in a other dimension, which I lean toward that explanation, how can Jesus and Mary be there --is that because their bodies have been glorified, aka spiritual bodies and heaven is a spiritual realm?
