I’ve asked before, long ago, and am hoping for some new insights…where exactly is heaven? Is it like the priest on the New Theological Movement says, that it’s in a glorified, uncontainable place outside our universe or where?

I don’t know anything about the New Theological Movement, but I think I can safely say that nobody knows “where” heaven is or whether it’s even a place in the way we think of a “place”.

The biblical story of the Tower of Babel might be more instructive than we often give it credit for. What were the builders trying to do with the tower? They were trying to reach heaven as a “place”. God’s action told them as clearly as could be told, not only that they couldn’t reach it with a tower, but that they couldn’t reach it as a “place” at all. And, perhaps the story also tells us it’s vanity to even imagine we can gain much knowledge of “what” heaven is, except to the degree it’s revealed to us.

Heaven might be “utterly other” in a way we are totally incapable of truly understanding in this life. And in its own way, it might be right here, but unreachable and unfathomable to us. We are told there are angels among us. So we know they’re right here. What we don’t know is “just how” they’re right here. And are they “only” right here?

We accept it that we’ll never see the inside of a black hole. I think we need to accept it as well that we’ll not be able to penetrate the spiritual world during this lifetime.

I do know from reading Scripture and other sources that there are three “heavens.” The third heaven is beyond the universe (the second heaven), where Jesus ascended and Mary was assumed.

Does the second Heaven include multiverse, if they do, in fact, exist?

Heaven is, or will be, a place of bodies.

Therefore it is to an extent a “place.”

Which does not mean we can ever understand that extent.

Can you re-read post #3 and weigh in on that?

In the absence of any evidence for a multiverse, I’m not sure that philosophizing about it would bear fruit.

As well ask if Heaven has pink unicorns.

Where did you hear/read this?

Those who die in a state of grace are saved. Some go to Purgatory first and then to Heaven. Some go straight to Heaven.
Its the one and only same Heaven.

Online. Where do you think Jesus and Marys body’s are?
Read my post #8 and this.

Jesus is God. Where do you think he is. Everyone in Heaven is in the same Heaven because there is only one Heaven.

Whatever you read, it could not ave been a Catholic site. Check the source of things you read, or stick to reliable sites.
Jesus and Mary are in Heaven.
The one heaven.
Heaven is not a place on a map, even though it can be said to be a “destination”.
Many saints have described it as being “the other side of the veil” but that is likely a reference to life being fleeting, and a very temporary place to be. If you think of eternity, our lives here are but a blip on any timeline.

The bottom line dear one, si that it is not necessary to know the PLACE. It is only our concern to get there, and be reunited with the Most High. I think I can say that He likely appreciates your attempts to educate yourself, but would also like you to focus on your prayer life, your spirituality through Mass and Adoration, and doing being the hands and feet of Christ to others around you. Do some community service int he New Year, and learn first hand about the love of Christ and the path to holiness. You’ll be very glad you did. 😉 People need us. And none of us have to be grand theologians to do that.

If I may, I would recommend this daily short reflection site: www.sacredspace.ie
Beautiful reflections, not difficult to get through, and takes only 5 minutes of your morning, Really nice.
I hope you have a very blessed Christmas. Peace, Faith.

Faith I have recently come back to God. I have lots of questions too. One of my priests said to start reading the Bible, starting with the Gospels. I was given a New Jerusalem Bible with all the books marked by a lovely woman. This bible also has a brief discussion of each book.

I am reading Genesis a bit atm too.

This is Genesis (from an online Catholic Bible website).

1 In the beginning God created heaven and earth.
2 Now the earth was a formless void, there was darkness over the deep, with a divine wind sweeping over the waters.
3 God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.
4 God saw that light was good, and God divided light from darkness.
5 God called light ‘day’, and darkness he called ‘night’. Evening came and morning came: the first day.
6 God said, ‘Let there be a vault through the middle of the waters to divide the waters in two.’ And so it was.
7 God made the vault, and it divided the waters under the vault from the waters above the vault.
8 God called the vault ‘heaven’. Evening came and morning came: the second day.
9 God said, ‘Let the waters under heaven come together into a single mass, and let dry land appear.’ And so it was.
10 God called the dry land ‘earth’ and the mass of waters ‘seas’, and God saw that it was good.

So for me, thats where Heaven is.
Free down bibles to smartphones etc are available.

And best thing is Heaven is attainable to all of us currently on the journey home, through the teachings of Jesus Christ , and his Church, the Catholic Church. As I understand it, Jesus was the first priest of His church

Where there is the vision and glory of God, there is paradise and heaven.
God placed the throne of His glory in heaven and his footstool on earth.
The kingdom of heaven is the celestial blessedness where the blessed reign with God in all felicity and glory, through all eternity.
Christ answered Nicodemus by saying that baptism was the way to heaven.
It is also said that the way to heaven is humility; and the entrance and the door of heaven is humility, because, save through it, there is no access to heaven.
Perfection shall be full and complete, where this corruptible shall put on incorruption, and this mortal shall put on a blessed immortality, where death and concupiscence shall be swallowed up of glory, and God shall be all in all.

All true, but inquiring minds want to know.

I think heaven is in another dimension, separated from us by only a thin veil, a silver glass, because the saints and angels are present with us. very close to us.
It is a real place, more real than earth. He has gone to prepare a place for us, for people with physical bodies.
For the best description, read the end of Revelation.

Heaven Exists And Is A Place

The Apocalypse Of Saint John (Revelation)
Chapter 21-22

[9] And there came one of the seven angels, who had the vials full of the seven last plagues, and spoke with me, saying: Come, and I will shew thee the bride, the wife of the Lamb. [10] And he took me up in spirit to a great and high mountain: and he shewed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God,

[11] Having the glory of God, and the light thereof was like to a precious stone, as to the jasper stone, even as crystal. [12] And it had a wall great and high, having twelve gates, and in the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel. [13] On the east, three gates: and on the north, three gates: and on the south, three gates: and on the west, three gates. [14] And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them, the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. [15] And he that spoke with me, had a measure of a reed of gold, to measure the city and the gates thereof, and the wall.

[16] And the city lieth in a foursquare, and the length thereof is as great as the breadth: and he measured the city with the golden reed for twelve thousand furlongs, and the length and the height and the breadth thereof are equal. [17] And he measured the wall thereof an hundred and forty-four cubits, the measure of a man, which is of an angel. [18] And the building of the wall thereof was of jasper stone: but the city itself pure gold, like to clear glass. [19] And the foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper: the second, sapphire: the third, a chalcedony: the fourth, an emerald: [20] The fifth, sardonyx: the sixth, sardius: the seventh, chrysolite: the eighth, beryl: the ninth, a topaz: the tenth, a chrysoprasus: the eleventh, a jacinth: the twelfth, an amethyst.

[21] And the twelve gates are twelve pearls, one to each: and every several gate was of one several pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass. [22] And I saw no temple therein. For the Lord God Almighty is the temple thereof, and the Lamb. [23] And the city hath no need of the sun, nor of the moon, to shine in it. For the glory of God hath enlightened it, and the Lamb is the lamp thereof. [24] And the nations shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth shall bring their glory and honour into it. [25] And the gates thereof shall not be shut by day: for there shall be no night there.

[1] And he shewed me a river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. [2] In the midst of the street thereof, and on both sides of the river, was the tree of life, bearing twelve fruits, yielding its fruits every month, and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. [3] And there shall be no curse any more; but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and his servants shall serve him. [4] And they shall see his face: and his name shall be on their foreheads. [5] And night shall be no more: and they shall not need the light of the lamp, nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God shall enlighten them, and they shall reign for ever and ever.

I like what Pope Benedict said in “Jesus of Nazareth”, “God is heaven.” God’s presence is what make heaven, um, heavenly.

But Jesus ascended and Mary was assumed to… somewhere. Where ARE they?
