" … Take, for example, St. Louis Archbishop Robert Carlson’s decision to allow archdiocesan officials to take part in a controversial conference this weekend at the Rennaissance St. Louis Airport Hotel organized by the Association of Hebrew Catholics. That event — at the archbishop’s urging — is closed to the press.

Jewish groups expressed concern about the conference in a July Post-Dispatch article saying that the archdiocese’s sanctioning of the event risked harming the relationship between Jews and Catholics in St. Louis.

St. Louis representatives of the Jewish Community Relations Council and the Anti-Defamation League told the newspaper that the archdiocese’s participation in the conference was “deeply concerning,” and they challenged the idea that a convert to Christianity can somehow also remain Jewish."

Why the scare quotes around “Hebrew Catholics” in the title?

Br. Bob Fishman and Sr. Rosalind Moss are from Jewish families. Both teach on EWTN and their conversions have been of great value in my understanding of our JudeoChristian roots.

Roy Schoeman wrote the book, “Salvation is from the Jews” and he has also been on EWTN. His website: salvationisfromthejews.com/

That’s not Beau’s fault. That’s simply the article headline as it was written. I don’t know if I’d read too much into that. They probably did that to minimize the possibility that anyone would think that they coined the term. The term comes straight from the “Association of Hebrew Catholics” group that sponsored the event.

I think David Moss is Sr Rosalind Moss’ brother…if I recall correctly, he is the one who gave Rosalind the info that led to her conversion.
