Hell cannot exist

THANK YOU. Sorta . You said “how do I know” I DONT!! Neither do you or any other human on this earth. We are all ignorant of the infinite knowledge of God. We cannot understand it even if we tried to because we are humans. So why pretend like we do?

If Hell didn’t exist, that would either mean that we would not have immortal souls or we would not have free will. If both of those things are true, then it means that there must exist the possibility of immortal souls who reject eternal communion with God: that is, Hell.

Sir. I have read the entire New Testament. It took me 4 and a half years. Please do not disregard me like this

God created you so that you can experience the joy of creation. If you don’t accept that as an accurate answer then you can settle with the reason of the reason to being is being. To question the limits of something like God or doubt his intentions is foolish as by nature of his omnipotence he bars himself from going against his word. “Spirit science?” I used the notion that God exists in everything because he said “I am who am” which literally translates as “I am those who exist” and that’s not spirit science? Should I provide citation to your argument using a strong notion of Relativism? (Also “Spirit science” is not even science, it’s belief, and I didn’t mix the two. You wanted proof you got the best proof that man can understand.) Read my post and research it. God allows you to not choose him because bringing you to him without you willing it would be worse than hell. The only pleasure that is derived in Heaven is from the love and adoration of God, or so the church teaches. But because God is everything that could be feasting, endless smooching on the person you loved in life, or it could be whatever pleases you most as God is in all of them, but we will not know what heaven is like until we get there. Serial killers have free will, they choose to do what they do, that’s God’s gift to them, It may be or may not be part of his plan as God is benevolent, and in fact people like this, though they do great evils Can still accomplish good things which many normal non modern Jack the Ripper type people wouldn’t normally do. All people have a purpose, never doubt that, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t imprison or give judicial consequences to people who break the law, as God bestowed the gift of having Kings who rule them upon humanity when the Israelites asked for it. Thus though they are possibly doing good in one way or another they are still subject to human law according to the Bible. And if you want secular definition here it is: They did the crime they do the time. Question me I will rip apart every single argument you make that has holes in it, and I will keep doing it for your benefit and my enjoyment. I hope this doesn’t anger you but I enjoy a good debate.

Just because you have read the entire New Testament doesn’t mean you understand anything. From the sound of it, it sounds like you haven’t even read the entire Bible, nor have you studied the Church Fathers writings or the Saints or any of the councils with any depth at all. You don’t even seem to know the Catechism of the Catholic Church well. You don’t understand, please stop pretending that you do.

I believe Vico answered your question with the following from the above thread:
You wrote: So why would God, ALL loving ALL knowing create a soul that will just eventually end up in hell and suffer.

A. Because moral evil is a necessary consequence of having free will, and free will is necessary for the merit of heaven.
In addition, although this is difficult to stomach, we cannot nor are we supposed to know everything. There are things that we simply will not understand in this life. We can know that God exists, we can study the Faith and pray to get to know Him better, but that doesn’t mean that we can have full knowledge of God’s purpose. Just because WE don’t know doesn’t mean that there isn’t good that can come of something that, to us, is bad. At some point we have to put our trust in God, knowing that He is all loving and doing what is best for us whether we see it or not.

But you are still standing on the basis that you know so much about the after life and gods divine plan, because a book written by man told you so. I’m. It saying stop being a Catholic I’m saying stop thinking that you as a human know even the slightest thing about god

Are you saying that we should believe in god just in case there is a hell?

So, if you claim to know nothing about God, how do you know no one else knows anything? Wouldn’t knowing that He’s unknowable be, um, knowing something about Him? 🙂

Notice how I never used anything in my argument that God didn’t reveal in my statements in that area, I know nothing about God besides what he tells me. Even where I used science I didn’t make assumptions. Notice how you’ve responded to everyone’s argument so far except mine. Please don’t take this the wrong way, but I want you to understand the full nature of your error.

No. I’m saying that just because you can’t fathom why God would create someone who He already knows will revolt against Him, thus ending up in hell, doesn’t mean that hell doesn’t exist. It might be something we may never understand here and simply have to trust that God knows best.

However, Vico’s response is sufficient: “Because moral evil is a necessary consequence of having free will, and free will is necessary for the merit of heaven.” You keep saying no one is answering your question but here is an answer. Are you going to keep ignoring it and instead jump around to other topics?

My religion? My religion? Notice how my science and religion don’t contradict each other. My religion is Catholicism, that doesn’t mean I can’t use science to provide evidence or believe in many things which science says so long as they do not contradict what the church says. If you do not view both sides from a neutral perspective you advocate blindly without consideration. As such you are closer to fanaticism than truth.

I doubt yours because it is full of error according to what I believe in. I’ve looked at from a neutral perspective. If you want me to say this from your side then yes you are right if I believe in your highly one sided way of thinking, But I don’t and I believe in a healthy dosage of reality so I’m going to be real. Your point is swiss cheese as your reply doesn’t even begin to pick apart the solid ground which my argument rests upon. Please reconsider and try to validate your point so your error can be proven. If you are not Catholic you have my apologies as then you are not in error as you do not believe in the existence of hell like the Catholic church teaches. But unless you state that or provide view of a hole in my argument or something that is wrong (Which I don’t think there is, I researched this heavily) then I ask you to please reconsider and try to accept the teaching of the church which you believe in.

@Tavoh “Sir. I have read the entire New Testament. It took me 4 and a half years. Please do not disregard me like this”
So has every person that goes to church every week. There’s a cycle for the old and new testament readings every week.

C. S. Lewis’s novella The Great Divorce is a story that begins with Lewis walking the streets of Hell. In that story, the only thing that prevents the residents of Hell from going to Heaven is that they’re not interested. I suspect that is what Lewis thought.

(This isn’t intended as an argument for or against any of the positions taken in this thread.)

I wrote a entire response to this, but it may just be better to refer you to these two articles. They will answer many of your objections.

The first is a walk through on the nature of Hell, and how one ends up there, and the immortality of the soul. The second is an in depth discussion on the question of whether or not God actually sends someone to Hell, or if they merely choose it for themselves. It’s a little bit of both: one certainly chooses Hell, and God certainly ensures the punishment is carried out.

You say you have an open mind? Fine. Read a real, solid, and intellectually stimulating defense of the doctrine of Hell and consider it honestly. Don’t bring up these tired old strawman arguments for Hell that schoolchildren could come up with.

Article number one: http://edwardfeser.blogspot.com/2016/10/how-to-go-to-hell_29.html?m=1

Article number two: http://edwardfeser.blogspot.com/2016/10/how-to-go-to-hell_29.html?m=1

God bless you.

I think hell is where one due to rejecting God and His love and forgiveness is away from God an eternal death of suffering. One will never be able to see the face of God nor have peace. its where one suffers with their own illusions and lies and hatred. There is no redemption its what God leaves one to one’s own designs knowing that its nothing more than illusions and lies they believed and refused the truth for all eternity.
