Hell is an eternal threat, even for the Saved in Heaven.

Hey Christian! Assuming that christianity is true, have you ever realized that even when you get to heaven you can still go to hell?

You would ask “now why in heaven’s name would I do anything that would offend God?”. Well, why did Lucifer and 1/3 of the heavenly hosts?

In the bible, even good intentions can tick God off. Like when the Ark of the covenant fell on the side of the road and a poor fellow instinctly went and tried to catch it. Kazaaam! struck dead for touching the untouchable.

Think about it. The trinity is so fickle minded. 😃
I think the Angels were in a different situation than man. Scripture says it has been accorded man once to die and then the judgement. So even though the Angels may have had an opportunity to see God and Regect him, does not mean we will do the same thing

please see my previous post.

you made that assumption.
I think you are assuming that in Heaven is synonomous with the beatific Vision. There are many rooms in My fathers house, The angels were tested outside of this world and the Scripture writers used language that its early readers could understand. I mean words don’t even do justice to the realities they allude to in heaven. So is it not possible that the description of the Angels situation was written in a figurative way for the readers to get a grasp of what happened. But in this world we will never “get it” mentally. We can’t and God knew that as time went on and thinkers like you arose he would have his Authoritative Church to clear up these kinds of distortions.

well the bible doesnt really say much about satan. much of what christians know about him was a product of human creative thinking. 😃
We know enough about Satan from the Bible, so much I don’t want to know anymore.

The saved in heaven are eternally saved and rewarded. They possess God, and it is enough for them. Likewise, those in hell - they are not getting out. There is no reprieve, no absolution for them.

Too say God is fickle, is an absurdity, but I guess the reason you are here is to throw absurdities at believers. Something Satan does all the time.

The most dreadful words of the New Testament can be found in Matt. (Today is his feast day), xxv, 41: “Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire.”

peace

AgnosTheist lacks any kind of credibility when it comes to biblical interpretation or debate for that matter. All I see is contradiction and assumptions in his posts, he posts his assumption as if it were some kind of promulgation by the Church and then makes a conclusion based on his assumption and hence everything in between, inclusive of the premise and conclusion is flawed.

With this, we shouldn’t even be arguing the conclusion because his premises are all flawed.

Reason & religion can be compatible. But the point is, what God gave us is the ability to reason. He did not give us a set of instructions (religion). All those religions you see out there, even catholicism, is merely a product of human reason. Some parts of which are already outdated.
Wrong, what is actually unreasonable is to think that God exists and didn’t leave instructions. “Don’t jump to conclusions” applies here.

I must also add that needless embellishments to your arguments is not necessary.

Such as “strike one”, “strike two”, the trinity is fickle, attempting to infuriate posters here is not the way to go about a debate, also be a bit more resonable about what you post, arguing for the point of arguing is stupid, and you have done that quite a few times in this thread already, if you are aim is to learn, or to point out bible errors, then do so without going at tangents to the central theme of your case.

“would” what if i didn’t feel the need to. Does this mean the basis of your whole 7 page argument is redundant now because your initial statements were assumptions that everyone would be asking that ?

Furthermore you are equating an angel, or ex-angel in the case of lucifer to a human being which is another flaw, though angels and humans may have similarities, more often that not they have differences. And Jesus has promised eternal life to those who do what he says here on Earth. If eternal life is promised, then it makes sense that we wouldn’t be offending God in heaven because his direct unconditional love and glory is too good to forgo. And don’t ask me for direct scriptures, this is implicitly derived, not explicitly and Jesus has allowed it. That I can prove directly from scriptures, if you wish.

angels appear to be sentient, self-aware & intelligent…just like us. They appear to have free will just like us. Unless there is double standards, both should operate under very similar moral standards.

HEY CHRISTIANS!

As long as you have free will you will be open to sin.
Assumption with the basis stemming from your original post(s) which I pointed out as flawed. Your biblical interpretations whether they be right or wrong apply to human living on earth, though it gives hints as to what heaven is like, it’s for use on earth and applies to human life, once you are dead, there is no human life as such. There is the “eternal life” which is carried out in heaven.

Furthermore, what applies to Lucifer may not apply to humans because humans and lucifer is NOT of the same essence. Just like humans and angels and God are not of the same essence. And the same with demons. If a human kills someone, it’s a sin, if God does it, it is not a sin, for reasons which I hope you already know, but if not, I am not going into it here because that would be beside the point, but I am demonstrating what is applicable to one is not necessarily applicable to the other. So you made two fundamental flaws in your two main arguments, and therefore much of your posts here are just void.
