When a person cannot pay restitution in full will that person be sent to hell!

If the person has repented i would guess they go to purgatory until fully paid the restitution

The repentant never go to hell regardless of the unpaid debt. That’s what Purgatory is for.

Without restitution, says St. Augustine, the sin is not forgiven

Penal Substitution and St. Thomas Aquinas Sacred Scripture
I read through St. Thomas Aquinas’ On the Reasons of the Faith against the Saracens, Greeks and Armenians, to the Cantor of Antioch Under Chapter 7 (paragraphs 12 & 13), he writes the following: The whole human race was subject to sin. To be restored to the state of justice, there would have to be a penalty which man would take upon himself in order to fulfil the order of divine justice. **But no mere man could satisfy God sufficiently **by accepting some voluntary punishment, even for his o…

Jesus pays our restitution in full. The merits of His sacrifice on the cross are limitless. We could never hope repay on our own the infinite debt owed to God for our sins.

I think from reading about the Saints and Doctors of the church restitution must be paid then the sin is forgiven through Jesus blood

Also I read the two links but they are not talking about restitution

Then it sounds like your understanding of what the Saints and Doctors of the church are saying is wrong. Maybe specific references or quotes from the works of these saints would be helpful to better trained apologists than me.

Summa St Thomas Aquinas

When one is unable to restore at once, this very inability excuses one from immediate restitution: even as a [person] is altogether excused from making restitution if he is altogether unable to make it. He is, however, bound either himself or through another to ask the [person] to whom he owes compensation to grant him a remission or a respite.

I think people are confusing restitution with reparation as in remitting temporal punishment.

If a person cannot “pay restitution in full” then they are not obliged to… God doesn’t ask the impossible.

Not only that but the initial question would condemn someone to hell if they were killed as they stole but repented… And basic Christian belief negates that!

Summa St Thomas Aquinas
Although a man is not bound to reveal his crime to other men, yet is he bound to reveal it to [God]in confession; and so he may make restitution of another’s property through the [priest] to whom he confesses.

From my reading a remission or respite must be granted by asking the party who suffered the loss my problem is that i so far cannot contact the guilty party !

Bible:

Though your sins are scarlet they will be white as snow…

Ah, this does clarify things, since it seems like you are thinking specifically about restitution for temporal damages.

I’m no expert, but the way I see it is that a willingness to pay for actual damage done to a specific party is a necessary part of contrition, and of course contrition is necessary for forgiveness. So if a person sinned and caused harm to someone else, then that person simply would not be contrite if he had no desire to try to make up for what he did, even if he lied to himself that he was sorry.

This contradicts the teaching of the Church.

If I steal $20 from Mr Smith, and I go to confession, I am forgiven. 100% back in friendship with God.

The priest cannot tell me I have to go confess to Mr Smith in order to be forgiven.

The priest may suggest I donate $20 (if I have it) to the poor box as restitution.

I’m very cautious as I have been told that I’m too poor to pay and therefore cannot pay and secondly to give a small amount not full amount to church and forget about it.

But it states that restitution must be paid in full and if not a remission or respite from owner must be asked !
