Interesting Thread. Because lately, the satanist has been in my country too.
You have to admit Imryl has been speaking in clouds. Very apathetic, almost. In my opinion (and only for the sake of conversation, I don’t think we are capable of conversion) there are two possiblilities;Imryl never said she did not love her child.
It is possible that he is doing it for purely theological reasons. That is not very likely, but I would assume that several exorcists have read it.There is a particular person on this thread stating he is a Catholic but he’s interested in reading the Satan’s book. Is this an embarrassment to the Catholic church or what? Why in heaven’s name would any Christian who reveres Christ and who is our Lord and Savior have anything to do with this book? Come on people! Wake up and smell the Gospels!
Yes, I agree, but come on…I wouldn’t pick up anything that isn’t of Christ especially the Satanic book?? Sad…It is possible that he is doing it for purely theological reasons. That is not very likely, but I would assume that several exorcists have read it.
I teach the 10th grade class in my PSR. I force myself to watch a lot of garbage on TV and at the movies so that I can better discuss it with them. I never accepted the argument that “I have never seen an episode, but this is why it is wrong.” That said, some stuff is bad enough on the surface that there is no need to go in. I do not have to swim in the sewer to know what is in it.
where does the church of Seth fall in all this?I do not practice with others. I’m sure some do. But as to particular days of the week? I haven’t a clue. (If you ask me, every day is the devils day.) As I’ve said previously, no one Satanist practices the same way or believes the same way. That goes for Diabolists, theistic Satanists and even LaVeyan Satanists.
Since this thread was originally about LaVeyan Satanism, and if you’re really curious, you can read their texts which are written by Antony LaVey at the following links…
The Satanic Bible
The Satanic Rituals
Although, over the years, many of the Rituals that LaVeyan Satanists practiced have fallen to the wayside.
To be honest when he mispelled “LaVey” I had to wonder if it was a legit post… but then I misspelled it later on so I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Meaning I pause once in a while just looking at her.
Nah.
I’m not angry at God. The other reasons, well… yes there are other reasons. None of them good. And by good I mean the reasons I like them are good, but what I do doesn’t fall under the category of “good”. If that makes sense. And yes I’m purposely being vague.
Yes it does.
I have to agree. I would not let a Satanic Bible enter my home. I’ve read excerpts just to get an idea of what’s going on, but we have to remember that whatever enters our eyes can defile us. Therefore, reading the SB, whether or not we agreed with it, has the potential of contaminating the light of Christ within us.There is a particular person on this thread stating he is a Catholic but he’s interested in reading the Satan’s book. Can you “love” if you are a satanist? I mean that literally and not directed at the relationship between Imryl and her daughter.Imryl never said she did not love her child.
I assume you mean the Temple of Set, or Church of Set? Here is an excerpt from their website.where does the church of Seth fall in all this?
The “worship” of Set is thus the “worship” of individualism. In the Church of Satan this was taken to mean indulgence in all [legal] desires of the body and ego. Since many such desires are impulsive and destructive, the Church found itself in the unexpected and awkward position of de facto endorsing many practices which were degrading rather than exalting, and which simply accelerated the tensions resulting in the eventual crisis of 1975.
The Temple of Set determined to preserve the principle of individualism, but to add to it the evolutionary “higher self” aspirations of Aleister Crowley’s pre-O.T.O. philosophy of Thelema. Glorification of the ego is not enough; it is the complete psyche - the entire self or soul - which must be recognized, appreciated, and actualized. The process by which this exaltation of the psyche is sought is called by the name Xeper [pronounced “kheffer”; it is the Egyptian hieroglyphic term for “to become” or “to come into being”].
The means by which Setians seek to Xeper are many. As a matter of principle the Temple declines to standardize its approach to Initiates. Each may pursue topics of greatest personal interest with whatever emphasis and at whatever rate desired. The Temple seeks merely to be a forum for Setians to communicate and cooperate with one another constructively and courteously. Many ideas and philosophies are discussed within it, but such discussion does not constitute the dictation of dogma.
This excerpt was taken from Temple of Set website under General information. It goes into much greater detail of how and where they “fit in.”Indeed dogma - to include fixed ideology in any form - is repugnant to the Temple. We strive rather towards an atmosphere of “best possible premises”, which are always subject to constructive, intelligent examination and criticism. That same atmosphere is Socratic, however, in that foolish, pretentious, or destructive egotism under the guise of exploration is neither respected nor endured.
I’m certainly not apathetic. I think it’s just the way I write. If I replied with more then a short sentence to all of the questions I’m afraid no work would get done.Very apathetic, almost.
I’m betting it’s number 1.
- She is wrestling with some hesitancy to turn completely towards God
- She could easily be true to her self-given title and be deceiving everyone here. We have no way of knowing. Not trying to be insulting, just realistic.
It’s a lowercase “L”.Hello Imryl (Is that an i or an L ?)
May I ask how it is you consider yourself a Satanist, but enjoy reading solidly Catholic books?
Well, Satan does mean adversary, BUT according to Theology and religious texts his name is Lucifer and Lucifer means Bringer of Light. In fact, usually Satanists refer to him as Enki, or EA. They choose Satan for clarity and better understanding of who in fact they’re talking aboutCan you “love” if you are a satanist? I mean that literally and not directed at the relationship between Imryl and her daughter.
satan is the opposite of God and God is love.
Forgive me, but you never spell the guy’s name the same way twice in a row - if you’ve read his books how can you not know that his surname is spelt LaVey, and your faith LaVeyan???Now, come on guys. Of course lmryl loves her child, that’s kind of unfair to say she doesn’t based off her religion :-. Yes, we can love, I think it’s just the way the whole Satanic Bible is written that gives it that eerie jist. LeVeyan had a weird way to state things, it’s how he got his point across and heard.
What rubbish. When you marry you make a decision to stick with one person basically for life, ‘forsaking all others’ as most marriage vows put it. When you choose a career you often have to dedicate some years of study to it, thus effectively closing yourself off to other studies and other careers. So you CHOOSE not to date others than your spouse, and you choose not to study other degrees or courses than the one relevant to your chosen career.Don’t close yourself off to other religions, that’s just taking another step towards ignorance.

I’ve read the bible before, there’s one in my house, including many books on christianity and all other religions. Just because we don’t believe in it, doesn’t mean we can’t inform ourselves about it. Don’t close yourself off to other religions, that’s just taking another step towards ignorance.
Back to the main question, Can Satanists Love? Yes, we can, as I’ve stated in the first paragraph. But to what extent? To the extent capable of humanity. We’re just like you with different beliefs, pretty much. Me, for example, I live my life and choose to love everyone. I’m no better than all of you, and none of you are better than me, equals. I’d never wish harm on any of you, and hope you all feel the same way about me. I even have a girlfriend who’s from a Catholic family and we get along great, her family likes me a lot, as well.
I understand your questions though and I take none to offense. I’m glad you all are trying to understand this better, it helps me feel more accepted.
Don’t be afraid to read Satanic texts, as I understand it God promotes knowledge of all cultures. Some of you may look at Satanism and go “Wow, what a group of crazies”, that’s good. While that mindset is a little hostile, it still gives you more faith in your religion.
Satanism IS a religion, for those who are wondering. It has beliefs of the astral, especially Imryls particular section of Satanism. She’s a Theistic Satanist, though, different from my section. I used to be Theistic, I belonged to the Joy of Satan group, and they believed in tons of Gods and Demons, and I mean tons. It’s just a culture some of you aren’t used to, is all.
Sorry if my paragraphs skip around alot with no sort of order or consistency, I’m trying to answer all of your questions at once, and I’m home sick right now so my mind is a little fuzzy. Keep up the questions!
Side note: If you like detective books, get Double Cross by James Patterson, I can’t put the damn thing down. My new bestfriend when I’m sick
Cheers,
Arnoagns
This raises an eybrow a bit. What do you mean by this?As to my reading of solidly Catholic books. Well, my family isn’t religious and they are written like I think, more so then not. So they “speak to me” in ways other books don’t. They also have the added benefit of making me feel normal.
Raises both of mine - none of your own Satanic texts ‘speaks to you’ in the way Catholic writings do?This raises an eybrow a bit. What do you mean by this?
