:thumbsup:The SSPX seems to be getting a lot of bad press lately and just getting hammered everywhere I turn, especially on public forums. If you support the SSPX, please just post a word of encouragement. You don’t necessarily have to understand where we are coming from completely, but it would be nice for fellow SSPX’ers to hear your support. We are all simple workers in the vineyard of The Lord working together for a common cause. THIS THREAD IS NOT FOR PEOPLE TO TAKE CHEAP SHOTS AND LOW BLOWS AGAINST THE SOCIETY. PLEASE REFRAIN IF YOU CAN NOT SAY ANYTHING NICE AT ALL.

I will go first. I truly love Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre and The Society of St. Pius X. I feel the late Archbishop will one day be a canonized saint and him and the society he founded are at the tip of the spear in fighting modernism and the true enemies of The Church. May God bless the labors of the SSPX with good fruit. May He also bring reconciliation soon, so all the wounds can heal on all sides, and may there be a complete restoration of The Traditional Latin Mass in every parish, so that all of the faithful may have access to it. God Bless.

Sounds like SSPX Anonymous. The “bad press” comes from the words of SSPX adherents themselves. I can provide you a few recent examples, even from you.

Thank you ever so much kindly for being the first person to reply and do EXACTLY what I asked people not to do. I just don’t understand sometimes, why people have to be so malicious. There was no malice in my words and it was simply a thread for supporters of the SSPX. I don’t know why you felt the need to respond they way you did. With this being the first reply, what does this say about the people who oppose the SSPX? I try to give you all the benefit of the doubt, but responses make it harder and harder. I find it appallling that you would attack the SSPX unprovoked. THank you for proving that you guys can not be civil when dealing with the subject. When something like this happens, I think of the Little Flower and her "Little Ways’. I am going to go out of the way to be kind to you, no matter how hard it may be for me.

I would like to request again, please if you do not have any thing nice to say, please refrain from posting on this thread. This thread is for SSPX supporters only. God Bless you all

I will not be the first, but that really is a moderator decision. This is a public forum, a Catholic forum, and a debate forum. If you praise AB Lefebvre, I am reasonable certain response is permitted. We shall see. (Note I took no shots at all)

While I appreciate your efforts to keep the thread on topic, I don’t think you can limit who posts in the thread. 🤷

Thank you pnewton, I appreciate your class and tact. God Bless you.

I agree, but the thread is dedicated to one thing only, and it took no shots at anyone and was not inflammatory in the least bit, so anyone who chooses to come here and post negatively is doing so for one reason only, to start trouble and try to create bad blood between the SSPX and THe Church and The Pope, whom we are currently trying to reconcile with. Why someone would try to derail that baffles me. I for one am praying for full reconciliation.

How about this, as I did yesterday when the subject came up. I will pray tonight for the talks with the SSPX that they will bear fruit of mutual understanding. If you want support from people that disagree with you on some things, this is something we all should be able to give.

Please do. That is strongest tool we have in the arsenal. If everyone would pray for the same end, I think whatever differences The Society has with Rome could truly be worked out amongst both sides and full reconciliation could take place. Thank you for your prayers brother.

Well, I’ll sound off in Praise of SSPX and his Excellency. I was fortunate in that I got to meet him when he came to Post Falls, ID in the spring of 1980 for 1st Communions and Confirmations. Three of our kids received from him. The Abp was a very holy man and I admired him.

Where would the TLM be today if it hadn’t been for him and SSPX. Say what you will about him, but he was a man of his word and very holy.

Hello! I am personally an SSPX member. I attend the Immaculate Heart chapel in St. Paul, Minnesota. I am quite pleased with the Society. Marcel Lefebvre has been an inspiration for me for quite some time. Santo Subito!

While I forgive you for falsely claiming elsewhere that I hate, I also wish you nothing but good will and happiness. That is found in God, not in disobedience.

I love the SSPX. love the TLM. wish the TLM was the ONLY Mass (not for Eastern Rites, obiously there Mass is fine to my knowldge).

Whenever I’m in Minnesota visiting family I always stop by IHM. MN tends to get a lot of SSPX Priests stopping by because of the seminary in Winona, as I’m sure you know. 😉

Emmit: I support the SSPX today but it took a long time before I felt comfortable doing so, having come from a very progressive/charismatic background. So I can see where some of the people are coming from who really don’t like the Society - they get a lot of bad press from some of the “big name” Catholic schools in both the US and UK. And in many Catholic parishes some are told to avoid them at all costs. I think I expected the Society folk to be different somehow, or like an elite version of Traditional or extreme or something but they weren’t. They were just normal folks who want to preserve the Faith as it was practiced for ages.

I guess potshots against the mainstream is all well and good I suppose…

So true.

The Ordinary Form of the Mass celebrated by active priests in union with their bishop and the pope in Rome is worthy of condemnation to some here, but illicit celebrations of the Extraordinary Form by suspended priests who act in disobedience against the Holy See and who do not even have an active ministry in the Church are to be praised.

Go figure.

Subito SUBITO!!

Good to see you, Matt!

The Society saved my faith. Locked into an area where preaching in contradiction to the Faith, Morals and even Marian Dogma, coupled with auditorium, and in some cases carnival atmosphere, I stopped going to Mass for a few weeks. I only grudgingly went to the Society, having believed the bad press mentioned in the op. My first Mass and the Pastor approached me, asked if I had time to talk, and talk we did.

Two years later, I have never looked back. The sanest thing I have ever done is unplug the cable and the main computer in my home, and pray the prayers I was taught to pray. Its a wonder how getting to know the Saints and the Blessed Mother personally can cure you of even the severedst temptations.

The Society saved me–or at least showed me the way.

I am forever grateful.

Deo Gratias! So good to see you again, maurin! I remember our days back on CCF. Hasn’t it been quite some time? That was probably back around 2004 that I left that forum.

Thanks be to God for the work of His Excellency Marcel Lefebvre. The priest at our chapel mentioned the other week that when His Excellency died, all of the clouds in Europe disappeared. How truly blessed we were to have a man of God fighting for the Faith and for our Lord Jesus Christ. Santo Subito!

**My advice to those who want to learn more about His Excellency Marcel Lefebvre, please read his words yourself. **Here are a few books written by him as well as a few (such as “The Horn of the Unicorn”) which is about him: astore.amazon.com/acatlif-20?_encoding=UTF8&node=1
