Hello,
I am here mainly because I was divorced several years ago and would like to obtain an annulment. I left my husband, who was not very pleasant, basically from the day we married. I married a man who was very nice and pleasant, and once we were married he turned into a controlling bully. I left him after he threw our (then) 6 year old daughter into the wall for telling Daddy to stop yelling at Mommy. I would not let him near her again, so he then strangled me and threw me into the dresser in my daughter’s room. My Youngest daughter told our day care provider that “Daddy pushed Mommy & her Sister“which prompted me to take action. (She was a mandatory reporter! I really had to take some sort of action!)
I asked ex husband to get help. He attended 4 sessions with anger management councilor and declared he was healed, although his first reaction to me and the children each night after healing was “Shut Up, and Get away from me!”. And this was his constant reaction to our children welcoming him home each night.
I am also from one of the many parishes that have been closed, so my parish priest is not available to me. My children do participate in CCD at a local parish, but I haven’t joined. I am torn… my former parish is still in vigil, the church I attend is the closest to my home (but in another town) and the remaining parish in my town has not been very welcoming to those of us from the closed parish (although I hear that there will be a new pastor soon).
I guess another question I have is… Do I need to belong to a parish in order to apply for an annulment?
Anyway ~ Hello ~
