This was an exercise in futility, I will find the statistical data myself. And it will not be from wikipedia. God bless.
My apologies, English is not my first language. Could you elaborate what you mean with an exercise in futility?

I suppose he existed. I’m not sure how credible the sources of Alexander the Great’s existence is, but if I was to dedicate my life to him and alter how I lived my life because of how Alexander the Great lived and preached, I surely would check the credibilities of those sources.

China has a sucky situation. My issue is that atheists are here given all the blame for their issues. Not only is that completely ridiculous because atheists make up 14% of their population, but there is no facts whatsoever to support your claims. Their attitude towards the christian god is a very bad one, on par with their attitude against opposing political issues. I hope you’re not going to tell me their political issues are because of atheism only?

The ends do NOT justify the means by my book. If I was given the choice to murder or surpress ONE christian to eradicate all religion from the world, I would not even consider it.

Religions are not surpressed by the government in Norway - it is by definition a christian government.

My theory was obviously an ironic statement, but still just as credible as the theory presented with atheism being the cause of China’s problems.
Atheism is an inherent element of Communism. Who was it that stated “relgion is the opiate of the masses” ?

Communism may practice atheism, but that doesn’t mean atheism is the cause of the problems in communist countries.

This does not change the fact that only 14% of Chinese citizens are atheist.

Sorry, for that! “Exercise in futility” means: 1. An action that achieves no end or goal.

ANNABEA - TRY UNITARIANISM?
Code:
You may want to try the Unitarian church, Annabea. They welcome Christians, but also agnostics, atheists, etc. Traditionally, they got their name because they were Christians who revered Christ but did not accept the Trinity. But over the years they have broadened out to include many non-Christians. Some churches, for example, will read from the Buddhist or Hindu or Muslim scriptures on occasion. Unitarian churches often attract married couples of different religious traditions - when a Jew and Christian marry, or maybe a Muslim and Christian.

I would recommend liberal Protestantism, also, except that you probably would find it too traditional. That's my affiliation. We have a special reverence for Jesus and for the Bible, but reserve the right to think freely, accepting this idea, rejecting that one. Liberal Protestantism exists to various degrees in most of the mainstream Protestant denominations, depending upon the local parish and the minister. Most Methodist, Congregational, Presbyterian, Episcopal, etc., are 'big tent' - that is, they welcome people of diverse opinions, but do find common ground in particular emphasis upon Christ and the scriptures. You may want to check them out. But try the Unitarians first. If you live in a large city, Ethical Culture may be another option.

Lack of God. What else would cause the government to supress the Church and muder priests and Bishops?
It’s not lack of God. It’s just natural human brutality. They oppress them because they represent a real or imagined threat to their power - same reason the RCC leaders and other denominations’ leaders murdered and suppressed threats to their power for exactly as long as they had that power.

Maybe there isn’t enough people praying. 😦 , or maybe, there isn’t enough people or governments who care :(, or maybe, we are too greedy with our own money to give to others in need. 😦 In the end, starvation is not God’s fault, he made it clear that we needed to help the poor. .
If Jesus told the truth about prayer in the bible, it would only take one true believer to end starvation, Correct?
P.S. There have been 67 peer reviewed miracles at Lourdes by doctors and scientists (of catholic, non-catholic, and atheist leanings). I will provide you these miracles at a later date.
Please do.

For me it is simple, when you become an atheist, you replace God with yourself, in other words, you become like a god beholden to nothing (you create your own morality, your own rules). Communism if it did not have the element of atheism attached to it, would not have created the damage it did. For me I define Communism as such: godless men trying to create godless societies.

P.S. I will have to do my own research concerning the atheist population of China. And remember China is still under Communistic power (an oligarchical dictatorship of sorts). There is much abuse of governmental power over the people.

Those that are truly followers of Christ don’t act in “natural human brutality.” So thanks for confirming that it is indeed a lack of God.
They oppress them because they represent a real or imagined threat to their power -
Ok.
Same reason the pharisees wanted Christ crucified.
same reason the RCC leaders and other denominations’ leaders murdered and suppressed threats to their power for exactly as long as they had that power.
The Church murdered nobody nor condoned such action.
Dissidents that abuse power are not following Christ and have (or will be) been judged by Christ.

No, not correct.

Please do.

Yes, I will. But it will have to be later this evening. I am going to eat now. God bless.

It is not that way though. When you become an atheist, you remove god. That’s it. Some may replace god with themselves, I don’t know. I don’t, and I see no reason to do so. I still have empathy, morality, love and care for other people. I just don’t believe in god.

Whether the damage is because of atheism, I would not know, but why do we not see this damage in societies that have high atheist percentages then? You may define communisms as such, but this is a better definition:

“Communism is a socioeconomic structure that promotes the establishment of an egalitarian, classless, stateless society based on common ownership”

Google define:communism.

While wikipedia might be an unreliable source of exact information, it is very good at giving you a general idea. I doubt you’ll find reliable results showing that things are much different from wikipedia’s “version”.

This is exactly my point. 🙂 Government abusing it’s power over the people is the issue in China.

What countries have “high atheist percentages”?

P.S. I know what communism means theoretically, but communism in practice is an altogether different thing.

What countries have “high atheist percentages”?
adherents.com/largecom/com_atheist.html

Sweden is at the top here. Note that this is atheism+agnostism. There are statistics on atheism only there but they’re slightly outdated. Still they give you a general idea. The issue here is that the definition of atheism is quite broad. In America, for instance, atheism has a very negative connotation and people are less likely to identify themselves as one.

Also I updated the post you quoted slightly.
