Some of you here probably have Facebook. I noticed that someone on my “friend’s list” on Facebook recently joined a “Christian Muslim Forum.” I had a look, and most of the posts are from Moslems pasting page after page of material “proving” Christianity is wrong and Islam is correct. The arguments against Christianity and the veracity of Sacred Scripture are the most frivolous I have ever seen, from anyone–but these Mohammedans are so ignorant about the basic premises and teachings of Christianity, they see these arguments and actually think they are convincing. From all the times I have ever had to defend the faith–be it against atheists, secularists, liberals, protestants, mohammedans, etc.–it seems that the silly, baseless arguments are in a strange way more difficult to refute than the intelligent and valid ones…I wonder why this is? Has anyone else noticed the same thing?
The saddest part about all of this is that there are few Christians there defending the holy Faith. The few Christians that have posted seem to be spineless Anglicans/Church of England members (most of the members seem to live in the U.K.) and, when confronted with “proof” that the Bible is incorrect, have the general response of, I don’t take the Bible literally anyway. One confused Anglican woman was exulting in the fact that her “progressive vicar” allowed her Moselm brother and his wife to be her child’s godparents and read passages from the Quran at the child’s baptism!! Imagine that! What blasphemy!! Of course, Anglican baptisms are probably of dubious validity anyway.
Anyway, this thing just came to my attention and I thought they could use a few staunch Catholics over on that forum, so if any of you are Facebookers and you enjoy debating Moslems or have experience doing so, please join the forum and start posting! Here’s the link: facebook.com/group.php?gid=10191695685&ref=nf
I haven’t posted or even joined the group yet, but I might if I know there are other Catholics there to back me up in case the Moslems and dubiously-baptized liberal Anglicans gang up and try to rip me apart. Remember that* admonishing the sinner, instructing the ignorant, and counseling the doubtful* are all spiritual works of mercy.
Thanks!
