Some of you here probably have Facebook. I noticed that someone on my “friend’s list” on Facebook recently joined a “Christian Muslim Forum.” I had a look, and most of the posts are from Moslems pasting page after page of material “proving” Christianity is wrong and Islam is correct. The arguments against Christianity and the veracity of Sacred Scripture are the most frivolous I have ever seen, from anyone–but these Mohammedans are so ignorant about the basic premises and teachings of Christianity, they see these arguments and actually think they are convincing. From all the times I have ever had to defend the faith–be it against atheists, secularists, liberals, protestants, mohammedans, etc.–it seems that the silly, baseless arguments are in a strange way more difficult to refute than the intelligent and valid ones…I wonder why this is? Has anyone else noticed the same thing?

The saddest part about all of this is that there are few Christians there defending the holy Faith. The few Christians that have posted seem to be spineless Anglicans/Church of England members (most of the members seem to live in the U.K.) and, when confronted with “proof” that the Bible is incorrect, have the general response of, I don’t take the Bible literally anyway. One confused Anglican woman was exulting in the fact that her “progressive vicar” allowed her Moselm brother and his wife to be her child’s godparents and read passages from the Quran at the child’s baptism!! Imagine that! What blasphemy!! Of course, Anglican baptisms are probably of dubious validity anyway.

Anyway, this thing just came to my attention and I thought they could use a few staunch Catholics over on that forum, so if any of you are Facebookers and you enjoy debating Moslems or have experience doing so, please join the forum and start posting! Here’s the link: facebook.com/group.php?gid=10191695685&ref=nf

I haven’t posted or even joined the group yet, but I might if I know there are other Catholics there to back me up in case the Moslems and dubiously-baptized liberal Anglicans gang up and try to rip me apart. Remember that* admonishing the sinner, instructing the ignorant, and counseling the doubtful* are all spiritual works of mercy.
Thanks!

Dear brother, make sure you search for postings from InJesus, Angelos, Mannyfit75, or Sam_777 or morningstar. Read their arguments against the logic or the error in Quran. None of the muslims here ever provide a satisfactory answer about for instance Trinity = God, Jesus and Mary which is not what we believe. After you understand them, you may join that discussion. In case you have questions, I think they don’t mind if you PM them and post your question. You can’t win debating their Quran unless you know Arabic and has read the entire Quran and Hadists. Even when you corner them in their Quran, and if you based your arguments on English version of Quran, they will definitely claim your translation is wrong. So, at the end, arguing in their own water is futile. You must make sure you are not argueing in their defined terms and conditions.

Swariffin is correct. It is like playing cards with someone who makes the rules up as they go. All that I am interested in is showing the correct teaching to Christians. I do not want to watch as someone goes astray because they did not know any better.

Islamic teachings are fulled of exceptions to almost everything. Isn’t that wonderful?

I am going to check it out - probably tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up.

There have been Catholics, or they say they are, who are as bad as some Anglicans. In fact, in England, it is the Catholics that support Israel and the Protestants that support the muslims, while in the EU - it is the reverse. And of course, it is not everyone - just a notable majority.

don’t forget Vickie as well can’t leave her off the list.

of course you do! Don’t be silly you and Vickie has had a tremendous impact on me. You have certainly made me think that’s for sure.

Thanks Aydan for your vote of confidence! :grouphug:

It seems to be a very cordial group. There are some Christian posters that I want to slap. And if I find their ministers, I just might.

I am currently discussing the Crucifixion. Same old same old.

I’d love some more friends, as I think the Anglicans on there are a little scared to side with me.😛

No not even a majority! sweeping generalisations like that add nothing to the debate!🙂

Guys, that site is utterly rediculas. I cannot get them to stay on topic. They ignore every thing I say. They are generally disagreeable as all heck. If it does not change, I might cause a scene 😛 😉

fear not Ralph I’m in there to. So I don’t care what they do because I’m not going to just let them have their way. I would like to see them stand up against Vickie!

I just dropped the big one on them.

Either Jesus and those folks in the Bible are liers, and Allah is one too for making it look like Jesus died OR Muhammad and Allah are liers.

Fun fun fun

haha a word of caution though don’t forget Allah is just the Arabic And Turkish word for God. So even I use it when I’m saying Catholic prayers in Turkish. So just be careful when you’re referring toAllah because otherwise they might think you’re an atheist or someone who has rejected God which I don’t think is the message that you want to convey. must have been a lot of fun though. I will have to go check it out later I haven’t posted in there yet.

I think I was clear. I have made that point on another thread, how the word “Allah” is not owned by Muslims but is used for God in much of that area.
