JOHN 27-30
Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the body and blood of the Lord. 28 Let a man examine himself, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For any one who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment upon himself.
27 HOW CAN WE HAVE BRAED AND GRAPE JUICE “UNWORTHY”
29: How can we pass judgment on our self with bread and grape juice
This verse is referring to being like Judas. Don’t be like Judas. Judge yourself to be worthy to partake in the bread and cup.

The King James reads, “Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink [this] cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.”

Amen, i totally agree with you. We should all examine ourselves before partaking Holy Communion, be it the RCC Lord Presence, or Protestant Symbolic only, it should not be taken without even asking yourself are you worth to partake at that point of time.😉

In some tradition leaven bread in Eastern Rite traditions. Though since they are Protestants I don’t expect them to change it.
Eastern Rite Catholics aren’t Protestant, and they use leavened bread. Proper matter for the confection of the Eucharist is wheat bread (leavened or unleavened) and grape wine (any percentage of fermentation). The fact that the Roman Rite uses unleavened bread is a matter of practice, not doctrine.
