You say you went to a Mass 2 or 3 times. That means absolutely nothing. What did you learn about the Catholic Theology, the Catholic Faith and the True Beliefs of Holy Mother Church?

Get a Catechism of the Catholic Church from Walmarts. You have lots of study to do to understand Catholocism.

By the way, I keep seeing this----cradle Catholic. What is a cradle Catholic? Just curious. Thanks for all the help!
Catholic from birth…thus the “Cradle”
Thats what it basicly sums up to :).

Perhaps I should clear some things up. First of all you saying that being to mass"only" 2 or 3 times means nothing, well it meant something to me and I think that whether you are a cradle Catholic, new Catholic, or not even Catholic, mass should have true meaning and you should feel something each and every time you go. Also. I’ve been to A LOT of internet sites and talked to my Catholic friends about the faith. Trust me I’m not taking this as a light matter! I have so much literature on the Catholic faith! One day I took my notebook of all the articles and such that I had printed of the computer to a Catholic friend of mine. We talked and I was revealing things to her that SHE AS A CATHOLIC did not know and I asked questions that she did not know. She even commented that I was more Catholic than her. Please have faith in me that I am not taking this matter lightly, AT ALL. I realize that this is to be taken very seriously. I am planning on getting a Catechism.THANKS ~~~crazy4horses

Enjoy learning about the faith. There’s so much to it. Theology, History, Lives of the Saints, Culture, and most of all the Holy Eucharist!!! The author of Lord of the Rings, Tolkien wrote to his son once: I give you the one thing in this world to love, the Blessed Sacrament.

keep us posted.

I think what he was trying to say is-try not to rely too much on your feelings. Look at the Church’s teachings and theology and make sure you agree with that before you go convet.

It seems you have been doing a very good job of this, though, and I applaud you:). I agree the Mass is powerful. My friend went once, and he is hooked.

Online version of “Where We got the Bible” by Father Henry G. Graham.

Something else to look at

geocities.com/thecatholicconvert/solascriptura21.html

21 reason to reject Sola Scriptura.

For “liesurely” reading, look up the various Miracles- Eucharistic, miracles in the lives of the saints (may I suggest St. Padre Pio). I also enjoy conversion stories personally-

chnetwork.org/converts.htm

If you read ONE conversion story, read the Scott Hahn’s.

One last thing for prayers for the dead- Our Lord told St. Gertrude the Great (sp) that this prayer would realize a thousand souls everytime it was prayed-

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the Universal Church, Those in my own home and within my family. Amen.

Pieta prayer book-some awesome prayers-over here

olrl.org/pray/pieta/

Do not stray from that page! The site, from what I hear, is rather dissentful, though the prayer book is not and is an awesome tool.

That is so the right attitude. You are reminding me of the story of Blessed Kateri. She was told by her family that she could not become Catholic (which was her mother’s religion). She ran away to Canada because her family was going to try to marry her to someone else. There are many of the saints that were oppresed in their beliefs. But they fought (took up their cross and carried it). Now, don’t get me wrong, they still followed the 10 commandments like honor thy father and thy mother. I think that this is a trial that you are being put through to strengthen your faith. Perserverence will serve you well. Keep praying the rosary and ask the Blessed Virgin Mary to pray for you. We, as Catholics, don’t worship the saints. We know that they are in heaven and that is where we want to be. Since they are in favor with God, their prayers are extremely benificial. Don’t get tired from being discouraged. Let God’s will be done

Hello Everyone out there! I need your help and advise! I have been raised prodestant and have been to a lot of different prodestant churches. I also have been to mass about 2 or 3 times with a friend. Although it seems wrong for me to make a judgment when I have only been to mass 2 or 3 times, I have. When I’ve been to mass it was so WONDERFUL! I can’t explain how happy and peaceful I left there! Just the meditation and prayers and every aspect of it, I know that there has to be truth in it all. I would like to attend mass again. The problem: (I know we aren’t supost to give out personal information, but I think it is necessary for you guys to better understand my situation (besides I saw that one guy gave his age) anyway, I am a teenager and live with my parents). My parents are prodestant. I don’t think my dad would care because he isn’t very “churchy” at the moment. But my mother…she tried to become Catholic twice! The first time she broke her leg and was hospitalized for 6 months and I cannot remember what happend the second time. She thinks it was signs that God was giving her that he did not want her to become Catholic. She is pretty religious. Anyway back to the main problem : I am afraid on how to approach her and tell her I want to go to mass (maybe I’ll leave the I want to become a Catholic until a little later). What should I do? How do I say, mom I want to go to a church you arn’t exactly “for”? Any advise and suggestions would be wonderful. I need some peace in my soul because this matter troubles me ALL THE TIME!
Thanks y’all! 🙂

Talk to your pastor.

I think EA Man meant “talk to YOUR FRIEND’S CATHOLIC PASTOR.”

continue in your journey to the faith however respect your parents also you will soon be old enough to make your own decisions I am a convert myself and the day I was baptised in a private ceremony because it was a conditional baptism I had an ear infection and everytime the priest would start to pour the water I would quickly move my head finally the priest put his hand gently on my neck and told me to hold my head there then he said that this water actually has to come in contact with you to be valid I told him that I had an ear infection he asked me which one I told him which one it was he then had me turn my head the other way so the water would not hit the ear that was infected that was sixteen years ago that priest is now 87 years old and every year on fathers day I take him out for dinner and we always have a laugh about it taking so long to baptise me on that day
