How about bongos?But they aren’t a sign of Protestantism. They are something that some Protestant Churches HAVE (but then so do some Catholic), but it isn’t a hallmark of Protestantism! Otherwise, almost all Native American groups were “Protestant” long before they were even baptized, if such a thing were possible! Drums are a musical instrument used by all sorts of different cultures. To be Protestant is to “protest” against the teaching of the Catholic Church and to deny the authority of the pope. Drums don’t DO that, they don’t protest anything. I’m not defending Protestantism, but it’s just plain incorrect to say that drums are protestant. “Sola Scriptura,” “Sola Fide,” congregationalism, “Once Saved, Always Saved,” reserving baptism for only adults…these are PROTESTANT. Drums are just DRUMS!
