Help me understand something. Here is a priest who knows daily he could be killed for his faith. Then here in the USA a priest gives a homily that is promoting the protection of human life, maybe gets a little animated and some arrogant Catholic reports the homily to a Bishop and priest gets warned or even made to stop giving homilies. . . . Be not afraid! St. John Paul said … but watch out for the Catholic in the pew… especially if he is for abortion…

What on earth does abortion in the US have to do with the persecution of Christians in Syria?
 
One priest lived in a country where it was dangerous to be a priest and he was killed.

The other priest speaks out on a teaching of the church and complaints are made to silence him.

Both priests were serving the Catholic church - one was killed because he was a priest and one was doing his job as a priest and was singled out and criticized
for giving a homily on a Church teaching.

This is about priests and you don’t have to understand this at all. I am the one trying to grasp this.
 
At least in Syria you know your enemy.

Amen. Also surly the priests in Syria and all Catholics pray for prudence.

which priest and did this happen, in your 2nd example. what was the homily about
 
I have a question for you…in all your years as a Catholic how many times have you heard priests speak against abortion, and against artificial birth control?

I have a priest who tells us every year when the pro life marches are on and how many want to come join them as they will organises buses for us.
I have a priest who loves talking about hell, each time he does the homily, its about the diabolic and hell.
I have a priest , actually a Bishop, who talks about being open to life and what that means in a marriage.

I have another who loves discussing love of neighbour for the sake of love of God.
I have another who is so very good at theology, each homily is taken up with discussing all three of the day’s readings /Psalm, and how they interrelate.
I have priests who say that talking about some things does not make a priest popular. So they have a choice , it can be quite difficult for a young priest.

Why are you asking? Don’t you have priests that do this?

And again is your second example of the priest a hypothetical or did it really occur.
 
Wonderful. A blessing to have had and have such brave priest. Regarding your second question it is not necessary for me to answer it.

Countless times. Our home page on our Website has Project Rachel information, we have a page on our website devoted to our bulletin has links to every form of NFP, advertise in our bulletin that if you want to learn more about the Church’s teaching on divorce, annulments, contraception, moral issues, where to go or to call the office.

One of my job titles at the parish is “Respect Life Coordinator”

We do a baby shower for the crisis pregnancy center every year across 4 Sundays.

We talk to youth group about the “hard issues”.

In the Catholic Church in the US, the month of October is devoted to Respect Life issues. Every parish in the US receives materials from the USCCB, every Diocese has a Respect Office who makes sure this message is presented in our parishes.

In January we have another top down message on the anniversary of R v W.

Have you volunteered with your Diocese Respect Life office to be on the parish committee? It might help to understand how much effort your Diocese is making.

Then it was not necessary for me to answer your questions. I am not sure of the point you were trying to make and believe you do not wish to make it anymore.
 
Of course…no one in CAF needs to answer or respond to anything I write. And when they do a conversation begins .😶
