I am under spiritual attack, and am desperate. My prayers only work once, then they are almost nothing after that.I can recite a Litany once, and it keeps the demons at bay all night. After that, it is worthless. The Oil of the Catechumens worked once and only once. Same with the Anointing of the Sick. I suspect my confessions are not working, and I dread the thought of the Eucharist not working. I have confessed every sin I can think of. I have been fighting this for 11 years. Can the demons place a hex on me, or is there something wrong with me? Please help.

Neither the Rosary nor the Divine Mercy Chaplet work any more either.

I have talked with a Priest, my Confessor. He does not know. I am going to ask him to make some phone calls and try to find out. Thanks.

what makes you think nothing is working?
are you experiencing depression or anxiety? why do you feel you are under spiritual attack? you seem to be doing what you need to do - praying, going to confession, receiving the Eucharist.
trust in Jesus. God loves you. continue to pray. do you have an Adoration chapel at your church? if so, i recommend spending as much time as possible at the adoration
chapel with Jesus.
i will pray for you to have peace.
God bless you.

You are not alone. Myself have been struggling deeply like this. 4 plus years now.

Is there another priest at your parish you could talk to?

Yes. I will talk with him. I am also talking with a Deacon. Thanks.

I know nothing is working because the demons continue to pester me and keep me awake.

Get some holy water, imagine Jesus on the cross, then say Jesus I trust in You and go to sleep. St. Teresa discovered that holy water, better than anything else, had the power to expel external and visible apparitions she experienced of the devil.

Holy Water does not seem to work any more. This is not an answer to my question.

It’s good that you’re seeking help from a priest.
You should also consult a counselor.
:pray:t2::pray:t2::pray:t2:for you

Maybe stop thinking about it, spread happiness around, give gifts to your loved ones, love freely. After 5 days, I am sure you will feel much better. I tried it and it worked.

You should talk to a psychiatrist. I think that’s what you really need.

“Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.” - The Bible

Believe on your sayings and actions that the good will come. If you keep on thinking about the bad, you will never find the light. You need to find a ray and stick on to it. So I say, love freely, with love you find the ray of light, the hope that will light up your life.

maybe it is not demons keeping you awake, but something you are worried about or are afraid might happen in the future. i will pray for you to have self confidence and self control over your life and the peace of knowing God is in charge. leave everything to Him. do not be afraid.

Frankly,it sounds like anxiety disorder. 65 million Americans suffer from some form of anxiety. It is a true epidemic and directly opposes faith, as you have seen.

Yet, shouldn’t you be burning in hell if nothing worked? If God’s grace was withdrawn from you? I think so - yet you are still here and asking for help.

Asking for help, so it is not nearly as bad as it could be. Worst case scenario is that you are prevented from asking for help.

Ask Father about the spiritual aspect and also about the psychological aspect. Consider that professional help may be advised, as God created psychologists and psychiatrists as well. According to the Book of Sirach, chapter 38, there is a time when your recovery is in the hands of physicians.

When God wants to lead a person toward a deeper holiness many times He will remove the consolations you have received in the past. It is not that something is wrong with you, It is that God wants to bring you to a closer union with HIm.
