And that was because the Sacraments weren’t working?

Your priest should forward this matter to the bishop, because you may require a Rite of Exorcism
Geez, people, stop just assuming the OPs perceptions perfectly reflect reality. Sure, it’s possible there’s something spiritual going on, but it’s way more likely there is some untreated mental illness here. Let’s encourage him to try the more mundane route first.

It’s not either/or.

Both avenues can and should be examined.

Sure, I just think the mental health angle is not getting enough emphasis here. People just seem to immediately take it at face value if someone says “I’m under attack by demons”.

Have you been seen by a medical professional? Sleep issues are medical problems.

Crank that Christian music loud in your house if you can and pray often. Sprinkle some holy water in your room and house. Blessed salt helps too. I have horrible intrusive thoughts and there was a point when I hit my lowest low and I felt as if I was under some sort of spiritual attack. I eventually got out of it, but I have been through different challenges after it. Read the bible. Your confessions are working if you do not hold anything back, and the Holy Eucharist is working if you receive in a state of grace. God hears all your prayers and He knows you are struggling right now. Try something to take your mind off of everything. Go on a walk on a sunny day. Read a book, or watch a good movie. If you feel like satan is attacking you, say “not today satan.” and don’t give it a second thought. Of course, this is just my advice, I’m not sure what you have and haven’t tried yet. If I were you, I would seek professional help, especially if it interferes with your daily life or your job. Praying for the best. God bless.

I agree.

Sometimes these symptoms may have a biological cause.

Better to get that out of the way first. I think this is what the Church recommends. A psychiatric evaluation first before it is treated as a spiritual matter.
