A good Confession and a devout Holy Communion are the greatest tools to drive out demonic influence. They’re far more powerful than any exorcism. Make frequent use of those and be in close contact with your confessor/spiritual director, and God will keep you safe.
Agree.

Lucid dreaming is a natural, normal function of our minds and bodies, and there is nothing occult about it.

I have experienced it many times, though not at will. It is no more mysterious than the jerking of your limbs while passing into sleep.

How is lucid dreaming an occult practice? I’m confused as to what the OP even did wrong?
A person cannot unknowingly commit a mortal sin.

If the acts you performed were for the purpose of seeking hidden knowledge then the act is grave matter.

And - you are mistaken about astral projection. A spirit is not separated from its human body until bodily death. Astral projection is a myth.
Some people believe that our subconscious is able to communicate with spirits. They practice lucid dreaming to enable them to interact in the spirit realm using their subconscious and use their conscious to control and record events.

That doesn’t sound good.

St. Augustine cited lucid dreaming as proof of the soul’s afterlife. He affirms lucid dreaming as valuable, but denies that the soul occupies a seperate body during the experience (astral projection, as the New Agers call that). Here is the letter where he discusses the matter:

No need to fear the phenomenon itself.

Interesting. Could this be combined with the loci memory system in order to study while you dream?
