Researchers were curious when they found homosexuality occurs seven times more often in men than in women.

They found that in the first years of life a masculinization occurs by a strong father presence. (in other words the father teaches him to be a male) They found where fathers were absent the nurturing mother effeminized the boy.

Other possibilities - estrogen in the food supply, pesticides, plastics, etc… disrupt the male hormones. Soy milk also has been implicated.
OMG…!!! What a bunch of HOOOOEY!!!

So, will gays be married in heaven?
Believe me I know that the church say there will be no marriage in heaven. Trust me I know, and a repeat that in public like every good catholic says I should.

However since Christ died I guess the church has no meaning as a bride anymore. Marriage end at death and all, not in the kingdom to come.
Code:
You might have settled for your wife thats fine, I know many that do, kiss her goodbye when she dies and move on to the next warm bed with the churches approval of course. Love is only temporary after all and it just comes down to making a mortal sin a venial one, because are intentions are never perfect in this life.
I loved a person more than any other person in the entire world. I believe God joined us together and ever action God does can not be undone He is eternal and all His action are immutable, a silly thing like death does not matter to Him. Also marriage is a bond between two people, we are not body, soul, and spirit seperated they are all one in the same. So if a bond is made between two people it is made between all these “parts” not just the material, and an oath made before the never changing God can not be undone, That oath will always exsist between those individuals.

That is what I believe in my heart and a gay who you believe worships eros also has a very similar view point.

Never once did he ask me about when I was going to move on, unlike half my parish where marraige is suppose to matter. It seems to mean nothing to them. I forgive them and smile nicely for I know they mean well but I also pity them. They know not love, all they know is warm body.

A warm body is not as good as my wifes smile. Shes waiting so can. .00000001 to 60 years is not that long after all.

If a gay couple respects love that last over the fleeting view of it Chrisitanity embraces and than furthur degrades it almost to the point of it being only about sex. Thats fine Ill go with the sodomites view at least it higher.

Wow!! Why would you post a link to such an evil institution? soulforce.org/article/1279
Seriously. If you have any morals, then I beg you never to link to NARTH again. Only the most ignorant and sick pervert would ever claim that one should deny their homosexuality.
Please substantiate your claim.

And we wouldn’t want any research or facts get in the way now. If a fact is a fact does it really matter what website it is pulled from?

I wont say its evil but they do have an agenda. Also if you are going to give support to claims give actual peer reviewed papaers and clinical data, I do not see any peer reviewed information there, most are just op-ed pieces.

Look at the references.

NARTH tries to convince people to deny their nature. I linked to testimony of people who have been harmed by NARTH. People in the real world recognize that being gay is completely natural and any attempts to change one’s orientation is simply ridiculous. Feels a little strange to actually have to provide proof of something that should be obvious, but here is some more: hows about some testimony by a Catholic debunking NARTH: thewildreed.blogspot.com/2008/02/debunking-narth.html

congratulations! You’ve linked to another piece of nonsense.
Why do you think that providing links to such trashy sites is laudable? Did you even read the information I tried to provide? Don’t lie to me. Give me your assessment of the links I provided.

They will all be trash unless they support your position.

Here is another:

You keep linking to discredited websites. Why would you do this? Have you taken the time to read my links? Can you make any statements regarding the contents? Do you understand that your position is a joke? Real people do not consider homosexuality to be unnatural. It is completely natural, and condoning these “rehab” websites is an act of pure evil.

Who has discredited them?

If you’re trying to convince anyone here that homosexuality isn’t a mental disorder by using psychiatric or medical websties, they’ll ignore you because “it was societal pressure that caused homosexuality to be removed from the list of mental disorders”

I’ve heard it too many times…

My husband and I work/ go to school at a state university. I understand why the Church views homosexuality as wrong, and I’m working hard to live that belief in my everyday life. I don’t. however, believe that sexuality is a choice. I think it’s something you’re born with.
However, before I came back to the Church, I had a LOT of gay friends. My sister is gay. In the environment I work in right now, “announcing” that I think gay marriage is wrong, etc, would seriously impact my job (most likely) and jeopardize just about every friendship I have. To most people I know, saying that you don’t believe in gay marriage would be the equivalent of saying you hate an entire race.
Moreover, my church used to be known as the “gay friendly parish”. We’ve gotten a new priest, but we still have a large homosexual population - including a friend of mine who lives with his boyfriend.
I don’t know what to say when people talk about gay rights. I don’t know how to deal with gay friends talking about their boyfriends, etc. In fact, I’m even scared to ask this question because I’m worried people will tell me to flat-out inform them they are living in sin. I love my friends, and I know that my telling them this would only make them feel betrayed and hurt - they aren’t going to go out and change.
I also have a friend who is working as a phone sex operator; all of my friends (the non-Catholic ones) believe in abortion … I’m a liberal. I don’t know what to say to them - especially since these were all people I knew before I returned to the Church.
How do I deal with these situations? How am I called to act? I try now just to love and not judge people. Is this okay?
Hi,

as ironic as it may seem but it sounds like you are being discriminated against. If you are afraid to be yourself, and afraid to be accepted for who you are, then your rights are being violated. The best would be to just air it out. That’s what i do. I don’t direct arguments at people. Instead, when things come up that are a little dicey and people wanna know what i think i gesture towards the crucifix i wear and people sort of get it.

If these people make your life a living hell because of your beliefs then they are not your friends. Offer the suffering up to Jesus, and remember always be charitable and have lots of humility.

This is an insanely difficult situation for you, but remember, don’t be afraid to express your religion because they are imposing theirs on you. Secularism is a religion.

Be strong and pray most of all, pray a great deal.

You know. . .I don’t have a dog in this fight as the saying goes but I want to share my story with the “being born that way” theory vs. the “emotionally distant father” theory.

My Godmother is extremely devout Catholic. I mean. . .she attends daily mass and is extremely involved in her Parish. She had 2 girls and 2 boys.

The 2 girls (my cousins) are happily married with 2 children each. The one son is married with 3 kids. The other son has had a gay partner for, I don’t know, at least 14 years (they both came to my wedding).

Now. . .let’s explore this “emotionally distant father” theory on my family (my sisters Godfather). . .

If this father was so emotionally distant, why isn’t the whole family homosexual? Why one brother and not the other?

Why not the girls?

I just don’t buy it. As far as I can tell, there was no difference between the upbringing and pegging the one son’s homosexuality on his father is irresponsible of the forum.

That Narth link could better be described as “Fake Science Monthy.” It was poorly referenced, illogical, and not that well written.

Again, I am not disputing the Church’s interpretation of homosexuality. . .but to explain it away as “emotionally distant fathering” is simply scientifically irresponsible.

There is much more than one link and a single piece of research. I will try to boil it down. Because the early embryo is protofemale changes have to occur to develop into a male. This continues after birth at around 2 year old to 4. The father then teaches the boy how to be male through his interaction with him. Obviously not every child is affected. The child who is in more need of this masculinization that doesn’nt get it becomes more feminine, especially if the mother’s nurturing reinforces it.

It will be interesting to see what epigenetics will show about this. There is no question that estrogen is more present in the environment than in the past. Uptake can come from plastics, pesticides, chemicals and foods. Yet to be fully understood is the effect of hormones in the food supply. Perhaps all of these contribute in some way.

The finding that homosexuality occurred 7 times more in males than females gave a clue as to what may have been happening.
