Here's an old story, but it's worth retelling

A young seminarian was asked what he would do if he knew he was to die at 4 p.m. today. He replied that he would go out into the streets and use his last hours making God known to as many people as possible.
An old priest, asked the same question, said he would go into the church and kneel before the tabernacle and there, in adoration of the Lord, pass from this world to his world.
The middle-aged friar said that he would peel potatoes. When asked why he said because at 4 p.m. I’m meant to be peeling potatoes.
Holiness is found in the every day things.
 
I would begin to pray and ask God to forgive me and send me His grace to help me forgive everyone I haven’t forgiven up until that moment. Then maybe I will start fasting (no point of eating if you are about to die) and go to bed and lit a candle and let His will be done at 4 p.m.

The way I see it is:
Young Seminarian- I have so much to do before it’s time!
Old Priest- I’ve done all I can.
Middle aged Friar- I have my task to complete.
 
I’m glad we have all three 🙂

It would be really tough if all those tasks had to be done by just one person.
 
Saint Bonaventure, a Franciscan priest, was elevated to Cardinal. According to pious legend, when the Papal Legates arrived to present him with the red hat, Bonaventure was washing dishes, out of obedience to his order. He asked the Legates to wait until his chores were done and his hands were dry and then humbly received the honor.

So, everything in due time.
