No offense but i think you are more interested in people loving you than to tell them the Truth. just because someone believes in the Bible 100% like you said does not mean they know the Truth. dont you believe what the CC teaches?
No offence taken. I love all people even you I do not care if you love me or not. I love Gods word the Bible and Jesus more than anyone. Ive already been there with what I believe and don’t. Please take a look by my name and you will see nothing there., except towm and date I joined and number of posts.

I can easily teach what you ask from the scripture. What is it you want to learn?
I make statements regularly here of what I believe from the Bible. Pick what I don’t seem to understand, show me my error from the Bible. Then we’ll discuss your understandings.

Because Dokimas does not believe any thing about Catholicism he has his private interpretation that goes against the Bible
Bill, this comment is either out of ignorance of out of untruthfulness. There are very important teachings of the CC that are important truths from God’s Word and it’s my desire to embrace them.

If you can’t trust what I say, why ask more questions. I guess we can’t have a conversation because you’ve settled all the issues. I’ve never claimed I know everything. I’ve claimed quite the opposite. Are you, in this post, revealing your understanding?

I have trouble matching some of the teachings of the CC with the Bible - that’s why I don’t think everything the CC or ANY church teaches is 100% correct. BTW, I know I don’t have all the correct understanding. I will, no doubt, be quite surprised as to how much I don’t understand.
you have trouble? so did the the Jews and gentiles? did they understand everything being tought to them? No. but they believed. do i understand everything? no. but i believe and trust everything the CC teaches. and i Praise God for it. He gave me the Grace to see and believe His Church.
can you read in the Bible that because you have the Bible you dont need the Church?

Then may be you need to go back to when you droped out of the K of C

I do? I did? Interesting.

Could someone help me understand what Bill is trying to communicate with me? He keeps making statements without backing them up, so please help.

If you can’t help me, tell him how foolish he’s become, not to mention that’s he’s obessed with me. You that are his fellow catholics should help him out. He’s loosing it.

Where You a cathloic and did you belong to the Kof C

I only wish to help you understand what you most want to, not what I see as you wanting to. I can only speak once you tell me what you like to see proven through scripture, about Catholic belief man. 🙂

The Bible is an authority. The Holy Spirit is the Authority. Local churches have church leaders, they have some authority.
There is a loop hole here. One that I am sure you would never admit, so I don’t expect you to. If the Bible is an authority, how is it to be translated/interpreted? Is it personal interpretation that matter? Can anyone just pick it up and interpret it? If so…then NONE of us are wrong, and we are ALL correct. If that is how you believe. If not…then I would like to know who you think can interpret the Bible correctly.

There is no proving anything at all from scripture if everyone that picks up the Bible is right in their interpretation. Or I suppose only some are right in their interpretations, and others are not. Which…who decides that one in your mind?

I’ll fall into your trap: sure, I guess so. I might go a little further: a mature church should try not to contradict things even if they are indirectly against Scripture. This is a finer line, I understand.
Interesting. What is a mature and an immature church?

It was obvious from your original post that you were referring to me and all other non-catholic Christians. So this post of yours is redundant.

To me, it’s big that you realize the CC of today doesn’t want to consider itself wrong.
Incorrect. ANYONE who disagrees with the Catholic Church on matters of faith and morals holds to an incorrect position. It does not matter if they are Protestant or a Catholic who denies the Real Presence or is pro-abortion.

The Catholic Church is not wrong. The ONLY group that can try to make that claim is the Orthodox, as they have history as well. Anyone else must try to prove, somehow, that they existed even though they did not exist for at least a thousand years.

I think you are taking this verse out of context.

Matthew 18:
15 ¶ "Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother.
16 "But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that ‘by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’
17 "And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector.

The context isn’t disagree with a church, but not dealing properly with a sin against a brother or sister in the church.
There are few disagreements between brethren more grievious to the Body as well than sins of heresy. If you look at the history of the Church, all the major divisions and separations that have occurred are due to each one thinking the other had fallen into heresy, and both parties rejecting the authority of the other to resolve the offense.

Local church not a world wide religion.
They are one and the same, Doki. The reason the early Christians referred to “the church throughout” was because there was complete unity. All the individual communities saw themselves as part of the larger whole. There is only One Body, only One church.

NO; NO!! The only reason for the !! is that I’ve made it clear I’ve never been a catholic. I’m not sure what you are referring to when you say K of C so I assume I’ve never been. I’ve asked and you’ve not told me what you’re referring to…

The local church is part of the universal church; the debate is whether or not the CC is that church. It’s the local church that should and does have the Biblical authority to deal with situations within it. If it can’t handle it, hopefully there are affiliate churches that will give guidance.

One faith united in belief. This sounds more like one church I know, instead of thousands, or millions of split denomination teaching contradicting theology.

Would anyone like to post verses that reveal what teachings God sees as heresies?

Please make sure they are specific and NOT unkind in your presentation!!!
For one thing, I would think not keeping the Commandments. Going against each commandment is a heresy in and of itself, actually.

Now, if you want to know what the Church thinks, you might want to visit these websites that will explain heresies and why the Church says they are:

newadvent.org/fathers/0103.htm Against Heresies (Saint Irenaeus)

newadvent.org/fathers/0103.htm Refutation of All Heresies (St. Hippolytus)

newadvent.org/fathers/0319.htm Against All Heresies (Tertullian)

newadvent.org/cathen/06592a.htm Gnosticism

Encyclicals against Heresies:

-E Supremi Apostolatus
-Quo Graviora
-Qui Pluribus
-Humanum Genus
-Custodi di quella Fede
-Libertas Praestantissimum
-Mirari Vos
-Quanta Cura & Syllabus of Errors
-Notre Charge Apostolique -Divini Redemptoris

Islam is also considered a heresy by the Church.

I’ve not seen another Dokimas. I’m not sure what document you think you have. It’s definately not from me if it’s about being a Catholic or having anything to do with K of C.
