How about 1 John 2:22 Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son.

Heresy is about elevating one element of faith above all others and making it ultimately important. Like the biological heresy of the nazis, blood and honor.

Jesus tells us that the Church is the final “court of appeals.” One choosing not to listen to the Church should be “as a Gentile.” That is, an outsider, or, ex-communicated. The Church derives it’s authority from Jesus, therefore, not listening to it is heresy.

For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

Who then is the keeper of the keys? Who has the divine authority that says what is/isn’t heretical? Catholics believe it is the Church and the Magisterium that holds the faith.

I suppose, across the planet, that the phrase could have a number of meanings. However, in Jesus’ native tongue of Aramaic, it only had one meaning

Geologically speaking, I think most stones are dull and un-interesting. Except for diamonds. I’ve found that my wife likes diamonds, I find that if she’s happy, I’m usally happier

I’m sorry, but that definition of heresy is way too broad. Many issues that the Church has to deal with its members about are not questions of heresy, but rather discipline. In the RCC, a person who is divorced and remarries without annulment receives a sanction but not for teaching a false belief. For example: Arianism is a heresy because it taught that Jesus Christ was not part of the eternal Trinity, but was created.

Many people are disciplined for various offenses. They are only disciplined for heresy if they teach false doctrine.

I think you are taking this verse out of context.

Matthew 18:
15 ¶ "Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother.
16 "But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that ‘by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’
17 "And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector.​

The context isn’t disagree with a church, but not dealing properly with a sin against a brother or sister in the church.

Heresy is knowing the Truth but preferring the lie. From an NT standpoint, you see Paul talking about different gospels, John talking about denying Jesus, etc.
