hmmm, instincts are a gift from God too. My gut instinct has often led me to make a choice that logic may not have agreed with, but was the best thing to do. I would have been very unhappy if I had not listened to it at those times.
Now, if we’re talking BASE animal instincts, that is wrong. We are not just animals without higher consciences and we shouldn’t ignore that conscience.

I have been uncomfortable about the narratives at the beginning of several episodes for two reasons:
  1. The narratives often seem to deny God’s existence, implicitly or explicitly.
  2. The narratives are often grandiose and overly dramatic. It feels like the narrator is trying to talk you into believing that the show is important. Sometimes the network tries to bill “Heroes” as a blockbuster. I think it’s a much better idea to just let it be what it is, letting people fall in love with it’s charm rather than it’s own self-importance.
 
I’ve been watching Heroes every week since it started. My favorite character is Claire. And Nicki/Jessica scares me:eek:
 
I have no idea what show this is. I’ve never heard of it. :confused: But then again I don’t watch much TV on the regular channels. I pretty much stick with EWTN, some shows on ABC like those 20/20 shows, some AI and some of those news channels like CNN, FoxNews, CNBC or MSNBC.

I have a V-chip on my TV seeing as I have a 13 year old. I feel comfortable letting her have the remote at times. She can flip channels and I don’t have to worry about her seeing something inappropriate. For me, inappropriate would be very different than what most people consider inappropriate for a 13 year old. I’m more strict than what the standard would be considered.

Am I missing something good here? What kind of show is this. Is this a sitcom or drama? or one of those strange psychic ones? 😦 I just can’t get into those kinds of shows.

I have come to find the narratives annoying. However, bear in mind that they are the voice of Suresh. I don’t think we need to take them for more than his interpretation. Frankly I find him a rather obnoxious character anyway–well-meaning but a bit pompous and self-important, and the narratives are in keeping.

If you have strict ideas about TV generally you probably won’t like this one. The premise is that a bunch of people develop superpowers, but they are all rather troubled, flawed people, and they are trying to learn how to use their powers while also struggling with their personal issues. There’s a lot more to it than that, but that’s the basic idea. There are some very gory moments and also some sexual content, though I agree with the poster who said that on the whole the moral message of the show seems pretty good (one character, for instance, is a married cop who develops the ability to read minds–he’s attracted to the FBI agent he’s working with but winds up going back to his wife and trying to save their marriage).

It was the older Patrelli brother revealed as Claire’s real pappa! I had a feeling from last week’s peek at his rolled up shirtsleave and expensive watch.

That Sylar guy really creeps me out. I can barely handle watching when he’s on. Of course, I don’t like creepy murder stuff anyway, usually avoid movies about such things.

I find that I’m getting bored with some of the story lines, but I’m hooked on Claire’s, the Patrelli’s, and Hiro.
 
I’m getting more than annoyed with the stupidity of Claire’s adoptive dad. Mr. Bennett better smarten up before he completely scrambles his poor wife’s brains!

Yeah, I thought for sure she was a gonner. I guess the guy that always shadows Mr. Bennett (can’t remember half the names on this show :rolleyes: ) pulled it out of the fire for him one more time. If he ever gets killed, I think it’s all over! :eek:
 
A Heros thread, yea! And other people who watch Doctor Who? 😃 I love Heros!!! Big hit in our house as well! It comes on at 9pm where I am at in Cali, so I guess all you back east people have already saw tonights episode. I’ll have to avoid this area on Monday nights so nothing is giving away too soon :eek:
 
Did anyone else notice the liscense plate on George Takei’s character’s car?

I think the fact that I caught it reveals more about me than I care to admit. 😛
 
I enjoyed last night’s episode - though I think it needs to pick things up a bit. It’s moving rather slowly. I had patience for it as a new show but am losing my patience.

I don’t like invisible man. grrrrrrrr. He’s got a rotten attitude.

That’s what makes him such a great character:thumbsup:

And I don’t know what you mean by “picking things up a bit.” I find the plot to be moving along quite logically and smoothly, compared to other shows like Lost, for instance, where they try to keep suspense by holding one mystery over your head for weeks and weeks while adding about half a dozen more!

It’s logical and smooth. That’s not my complaint. I guess I am impatient. I think they tend to spend so much time on stagnation - like the character Jessica. For goodness sake - finally they get her moving once again. She was in the psyche center too long.

Syler was in the holding cell too long. blah blah - I’m looking for Action - with an A.

Hiro has been looking for that sword too long.

I like things snappy. Just me I guess.😛

Well I think that peter will learn to use his powers. I also believe that there is not actually goning to be an explosion. :confused: Remember the saying “save the chearleader, save the world” I think that has to do with peter. I think Peter needed to get the cheerleaders power in order to do something that could save the world. I think peter is the key. 🙂
