totally surprised me, it was the last thing I ever expected.

Any predictions as to what might happen with the ticking time bomb?🙂
I wonder if Claire’s mother started the fire that everyone thought they died in? If so, was it on purpose? And if she knew about her powers then, it makes me wonder how long Peter has known he could fly… I gotta tell ya, he didn’t seem very surprised…

Also, I wonder if the loss of the baby is what made them part? Remember the conversation between Nikki and Peter that night at the hotel, before Jessica went all-hussy with him? I wonder if Peter regrets what could have been with Claire and her mother?

Hey Nathan isn’t the only one absorbing other people’s powers at an alarming rate… there’s Sylar too! I wonder if Nathan and Sylar have a show down and the over absorption causes the “bomb”?

Oh the possiblities. Oh and I had zero idea about the Star Trek connection with the plate. Too funny!

Peter is the one absorbing powers. But Sylar absorbs powers every time he kills someone

You guys are confusing Peter and Nathan. Nathan is the older brother who is a politician and flys. Peter is his little brother who absorbs others powers.

I think Claire’s mother did start the fire, but I believe it was an accident. Much like Peter can’t control her powers now and Hiro has “lost” his powers, I think Claire’s mother probably lacked control when she started the fire.

There’s a definite implication from the show that Peter’s brother, Nathan (who is Claire’s father), did not know he could fly until the car accident with his wife. That happened only a few months before the show started. I don’t think he knew about his powers before, and I’m pretty sure he doesn’t know about Claire’s mother’s power.

Oh, and on a side note, I love that Peter saved his niece when he saved Claire.

And speaking of references to other shows, did anyone notice how Peter called the healing power “regeneration”, as he was talking to the old ninth Dr. Who? I almost expected Claude to reply, “hey, I know all about regeneration…” 🙂

FYI, the exact line was, “If I didn’t regenerate, I’d be dead.”

If it were not on at the same time as 24 then perhaps I would give it a chance. I might rent it when it comes on dvd if it is worth watching.
It’s worth watching and you can watch it on NBC’s Web site. My wife and I do that because we don’t want to miss “24” either.

If your local cable company has it, the Sci-fi channel rebroadcasts Monday night’s ep on Fridays.

I told you guys Mr. Bennett was going to permanently scramble his wife’s brains if he didn’t stop the lies and memory erasing. Poor lady doesn’t even like her dog any more. I feel so horrible for Claire.

And  is all one can think for Mr. Suresh and Syler!

**The cop … oh temptation really got a hold of him. I wonder if this will be a turning point or if his conscience will get the better of him? Talk about a prime example of a good guy gone bad in a moment of weakness.😦 **

What was Ando thinking believing that hussy? He should know better. I knew there’d come a time when Hiro couldn’t pull his buddy’s fanny from the fire. I hope Hiro can work get to Ando in time. I don’t think Hiro has really lost his powers. I think he’s lost confidence. Otherwise, how’d he do it at the museum with the fake sword piece?

They were doing it for a while but it wasn’t on their schedule for last Friday - either on my cable menu or their Web page. Watching on the Internet isn’t as bad as I thought it would be. There’s only one commercial between segments. I also watch “Lost” this way since they now air it when I’m on the way home from work.

I think part of the problem is that what Claire’s mom has gone through is so horrible that even though she doesn’t remember, she is stil traumatized by it.

Anyone else enjoy last night’s episode?
Absolutely! It was great and it’s really moving along. I think we learned a lot about Bennett (or HRG, for horn-rimmed glasses, as he is known the fan message boards) and Claire and how he came to love her as his own daughter and wanted to protect her. It kept us guessing how it would end up, but I knew HRG would not turn Claire in to his bosses. His sacrifice was admirable even though he has has done bad things in the past.

It should be interesting to see who Linderman is next week.

The announcer made a reference to the “beginning of the conclusion” or something to that effect in the previews after last night’s episode. Does anyone know if the show is being picked up for a second season?

Maybe it’s the conclusion of the season or the conclusion of a certain story arch? I can’t imagine for a second that this show won’t be back next season. NBC would have to be crazy.

Plus, notice that they were trying very hard, have been for a few weeks, to get everyone to watch the Black Donnelys. They specifically put it in that time slot after Heroes because so many people watch Heroes, and they hope you’ll just keep watching.

Incidentally, I thought last night’s episode was very good overall – I liked the way they finally brought out a bit of Claire’s father’s real agenda, that yes, he is an evil man (based on his shooting of the invisible man), but that he also loves his family. He came across as a very three-dimentional and conflicted villain.

The biggest flaw in the episode was the flashback to Claire’s learning that she’d been adopted. First of all, I believe it’s rare these days for parents to keep such a thing a secret for so long. But if they had, I can’t imagine her accepting it THAT easily, or the dad deciding it was time to reveal it to her simply because she asked if she would need glasses when she was older. It was just a very unbelievable scene.

If you miss an episode when it airs like I do (I’m usually working), you can watch it online here.

Was that gray haired old man at the very end Donald Sutherland? My wife and I both think that it is.

I loved last night’s episode! Can’t wait for the next one. The boys and I found Claire’s mom’s faith very promising. It inspired some conversation about the love of parent’s for their kids, sacrifice, and trust. And how slippery-quick that “gray area” attitude can send a person on the road to … um… heck in life. 👍

Oh I sure hope so! Last nights episode was good. I hope we get even more info next week! 🙂
