I found this on Heroes’s web site. Just in case any of you are giving up on the show prematurely.

And just think… my state could’a had her for First Lady! :crying: …if only they guy’s last name hadn’t been Ryan … and if it weren’t for that sex scandal…that didn’t have any sex…between a husband and wife… :crying:
 
Yeah, I must say I’m not captivated yet either.

So every week we get another installment of the Alejandro & what’s-her-name, running-and-killing-someone-or-almost-because-they-got-separated show; the Hiro-makes-someone-else-look-good show; the Peter-doesn’t-know-who-he-is-so-he’ll-be-a-criminal show; the Claire’s-sick-of-hiding show…

At least it looks like Nathan gets a shave soon, so maybe he’ll start doing more than just moping.

I like the season so far–particularly the stuff with Hiro–but probably because I’m seeing it in continuity with last season, not as a whole new set of plots. I like seeing what is happening to the characters I’ve already come to know and love. I doubt that this season would draw me in all by itself, but it doesn’t need to.

I’m not the only one! I don’t understand it either. I can quote Simpsons episodes that I haven’t seen in ten years but have difficulty remembering what happened on other TV shows last week!

I’m glad I’m not the only one with this problem 😉
 
DH and I are finding Heroes so boring this season. The high point this week was the good laugh we had at “Linderman, Nakamura…and this guy is called Bob.” The casual way Matt said it cracked us up. Bob.

Mohinder and Parkman are coma inducing by themselves, when together I’m afraid of suffering permanent brain damage. Molly creeps me out with her too mature for her tiny body face, and I’ve had it up to here with Claire. The new brother and sister do provide many opportunities to get a snack, or go to the bathroom. I’ll give them that.

DH’s hope for the season was that it would be all about the elders, with lots of flashbacks - mama and papa Petrelli, Charles, Nakamura, Linderman, Bennett, etc. Now I’d just be happy with more Hiro and Ando and Nathan. Maybe a little Jessica. I used to enjoy seeing Peter, but his Shirtless Irish Adventure is wearing a little thin. I hope, for all our sake’s, that there’s something more than a train ticket in the little box, because that’s not going to tell him anything.

The writers actually said they received a lot of feedback regarding the “shirtless Peter.” They wanted more. So, this season they wanted to oblige.:yawn:

Stupid feedbackers. I don’t mind the occasional look, but it gets tiresome.

We watched a Dallas episode before Heroes this week, and Bobby was inexplicably walking around in a suit, sometimes in a courthouse, sometimes doing his best Nancy Drew impression, with his shirt unbuttoned and open almost to the waist 🤷 We’re thinking of adding it to our Dallas drinking game: Bobby half dressed for no apparent reason, Miss Ellie beaming vacantly at something off camera, JR dressed for big game hunting in Africa, Sue Ellen drinking at 10am, etc. Maybe Heroes is trying to get some of that jive 70’s nighttime soap atmosphere.

It’s kind of sad when a 30 year old episode of Dallas entertains two sci-fi comic geeks about a hundred times more than a show like Heroes. It should be right up our alley, yet it falls completely flat. Honestly, I think the sole reason we’re still giving it a chance is for Hiro, and that’s not going to last if they have many more episodes without him.

And Claire just needs to GO AWAY.
 
I am definitely going to keep watching, I just think the show is experiencing a sophomore slump right now. The first season was intriguing from the beginning for me and there was only a couple of episodes that were let downs. I love Lost too, and that show went through some times where it just wasn’t very good. I am pretty confident Heroes will find it’s stride again the same way I feel Lost did.

A good explanation of Parkman’s marital situation was much appreciated, the baby was his rival’s who she cheated on him with, and they are dropping a few more intriguing mysteries. Syler is so bad he is fun to watch, I am liking where that story is going now that he is hooked up with the latin bleeding eye twins.

I like the new girl who learns what she see’s on TV, she is very likable. I keep thinking she is going to be watching some TV, do a dramatic turn toward the camera, and in her best Neo impression say “I know Kung Fu”.

We feel Lost never recovered, so I hope Heroes fares better 😉 The new black girl (Monica?) was interesting - we were annoyed at the beginning of the episode, but intrigued by the end. And she seems like a good person, in the vein of Peter and Hiro, so we’d like to see more.

The brother-sister though…ugh. To us it’s like they stuck Northstar & Aurora in a blender with black oil infested Alex Krychek. No thank you. It’s been done before, by better writers/actors.

What’s the tag line for the show right now with the commercials? We’re in Europe this season and don’t get the previews/commercials. ‘Save the cheerleader…save the world’ and ‘How do you stop an exploding man?’ were great. Unfortunately, I think the most apt one at this point would be ‘Stay awake…if you can.’

Also wasn’t DL still alive, but shot and bleeding at the end of last season? Casually divorcing Parkman’s wife/child with little explanation is weak, as viewers we deserve better writing and more explanation when writing out characters.

Also what is up with electronic girl who emailed Ted when he was in hiding last season, did she die and I did not catch it? You know the one who told him about the tracking system?

Finally they bring in more Sylar, they need him desperately. Wonder what is going on with his powers. Changing illusion girl actress and then killing her off so quickly seemed sort of dumb. Sylar with her power was a scary idea, wonder if he will have it when he gets his other powers back.

The Peter storyline is OK so far, but why is going along with being a criminal?

Hopefully this new bad guy turns out to be cool. I think he is the one killing off the old school heroes.

Look forward to finding out more about the history of the older ones next episode. I hope this season starts getting better soon.

Relax. The writer is throwing things at us randomly, so we don’t really know at the moment. They’ll give us more in the next couple episodes.

MIGHT CONTAIN SPOILER Don’t read if you don’t want to know.

Episode 8 is “4 months ago” where they will show us what happen during the 4 months, prolly about Peter getting new powers, DL, etc. Of course, it’s quite strange that Matt survived 4 bullets on the chest and not DL.

Parkman’s divorce & child will be explain in episode 5, “Fight or Flight.”

Okay, this week’s episode was marginally better. We got to see Nikki, a bit of Hiro/Ando (I like that they’re keeping Ando around, and recognize him as a character in his own right), and the Irish chick was pretty convincing in her distraught reaction to her brother’s death. A nice change from, “Ah, Peter, you’re so mysterious, how I love to make moony faces at ye and contribute nothing of value to the show”.

Haaate Kristen Bell. We think she’s a terrible actress. Her extensions were also frightful. But yay, no Claire this week. Another plus.

The best part by far, and what’s keeping us interested in the show, were the Nathan/Matt scenes. That thing in the closet was genuinely unique (for broadcast tv), intriguing, and a bit frightening.

DH made the observation that we’re disliking the show this year because it’s too busy and schizophrenic. Last year it was boring at times, but each episode focused primarily on one or two characters…the stories were meatier, you cared for the characters more because you spent more time with them. Now that everyone knows eachother, it makes sense that they can’t follow the exact same formula, but they’re still cramming too many people into the hour.

And I don’t know why they feel the need to have so many new characters. Monica would have sufficed and felt the most natural. At this point, we want Eric Roberts to come back from the dead and take out half the population just to bring some focus back.
 
IMHO, I think the show has been great so far this season, for the most part. It does have a lot going on and quite a few new characters but I think it will all come together satisfactorily, if the past is any indication. So it still keeps my interest to tune in every week and see what happens. I also follow the shows forums and fan podcast and all. So, I’m really into it and keep up with all the latest news, trivia, and theories. It’s good clean fun.

Hi K-McD. 👋 Well, I have some ideas, like maybe Elle’s (Kristen Bell’s character) father could be Bob from the Company.

I try not to get caught up in too many speculations and wild theories like I’ve seen on the fan forums sometimes. Although it is fun to read what others think, sometimes there are some interesting ideas and information. But I usually just try to enjoy the show and see how it develops. Of course, on a show like this, almost anything is possible.

I am thinking Bob is Sylar’s father because Nathan keeps “forgetting” his last name. “Bob, something.” Don’t ask me to give any credible proof for my theories, its just a hunch.

Hmmm, that’s an interesting theory. Never thought of that before.

I didn’t mind Elli. She seemed okay to me. Kinda snotty, but I think we are supposed to dislike her.

I am so very glad we didn’t see bleeding eye girl. i am so over that plot. With the illegal immagration thing being such a huge issue right now, they just need to leave that stuff out of my TV. oh well, they’ll probably be more interesting now that brain eating sylar is along for the ride.

I like the new black girl from New Orliens. is her name Monica? I forget. She’s cool. I look forward to seeing her do some kung fu! yeah!
