What are your thoughts?

Other Catholic universities? What Catholic university do you attend?Today is World AIDS Day and I was curious if other Catholic Universities had condoms being passed out.

Which university you attend IS relevant.I am not here to blast my university.
I have been trying to think of how I can be okay with this. The best reason I thought of is that the distributors had to have been on a public sidewalk.
The matter of fact is students received free condoms due to World AIDS Day.
My friend told me these contraceptives were handed out in front of school buildings. I have no idea whether they were in any way involved with the university. I did see the evidence. The fact of the matter is condoms were handed out.Which university you attend IS relevant.
Was the *school *doing a condom hand-out? Was it a school-sponsored *group *doing a condom hand-out with unversity permission? Was it a school-sponsored group doing a condom hand-out *without *university knowledge/permission? Or, was it a condom hand-out that happened to be in proximity to or on campus done by a *non-university *group *without *permission/knowledge of the university?
These are pertinent questions.
The title of your thread seems to be intended to be provocative, and the content of your post #1 implied the university *itself *was behind the handing out of condoms.
So, you need to clarify the actual situation and details.
On private property? Yes. On their own property they may restrict solicitation/handing out of materials.Does a Catholic University have the right to limit such things like the events given in this situation?
A Catholic University has every right and indeed duty to do so.My friend told me these contraceptives were handed out in front of school buildings. I have no idea whether they were in any way involved with the university. I did see the evidence. The fact of the matter is condoms were handed out.
I would hope they were passed out on public property such as sidewalks (the school is very urban) as for there are a lot of other Christians evangelizing in the same manner on some days.

Considering the FACT that abstinence is the only 100% effect method of avoiding STDs one has to wonder why it is not endorsed. Doctors have a term to describe people that use condoms to avoid pregnancy, they call those people “parents”.Instead of condoms why don’t they just pass out flyers stating that AIDS can be prevented. It’s called ABSTINENCE. wait until marriage. if you don’t have premarital sex, you can avoid STDS, HPV, and AIDS.
How come some folks esp. Planned Parenthood won’t embrace it. I mean, it’s common sense, if you play you will pay. sometimes with your life.![]()
I’ll tell ya why…b/c It’s all about $$!!Considering the FACT that abstinence is the only 100% effect method of avoiding STDs one has to wonder why it is not endorsed. Doctors have a term to describe people that use condoms to avoid pregnancy, they call those people “parents”.
Not to mention the fact that the Catholic Church treats more AIDs patients world wide than the UN one might listen to the source with the most experiance with the disease.
