Your post bears repeating several times so some can get the message! Not too long ago I posted that I dug into the website of Hillary’s released emails - it was tedious, time consuming, and at times stomach curdling. Numerous emails showed up between the person you mentioned (the close friend with business interests in Libya, a sometime employee of the Clinton Foundation, and a very personal friend of Hillary’s. The subject was the build up of radical forces in the area, etc. Numerous emails were exchanged with subject matter highly suspicious of being in need of security classification. I think I mentioned that my computer caught a virus from reviewing the numerous emails, completely locked up, and had to be cleaned. My exploration hardly made a dent in the email exchanges so it will have to await the FBI’s results to learn how bad it got.

After hearing Obama strut his responses to Chris Wallace regarding Hillary’s “carelessness” it is hard to believe he tried to justify the whole mess by saying: “Well, there is classified information, and then there is classified”. The American
people have been played and hopefully we can recover from all this deceit; its not looking good.

One can only hope that the utterly botched war on Libya was simply a horrific and inexcusable mistake, and not something much worse, such as a speculation that somehow the overthrow of Khaddaffi could enable a friend to make business deals with some group of “insurgents” believed capable of coming out on top.

one really does. Some things, one would hope, are too much even for a corrupt politician to entertain.

But one reads things like this. slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/2015/05/18/hillary_clinton_sidney_blumenthal_libya_unofficial_adviser_represented_business.html

I know it’s pretty easy to set up an email server. My oldest brother has three set up in his home, and I helped him set up mine, and I consider myself technologically challenged. It might not be easy for you, but it was easy for us, and I don’t doubt that it was convenient for SoS Clinton. It’s convenient for me, and my email volume can’t compare with someone who has 22,000 people working under her.

I think plenty of other government officials have done it:

politifact.com/punditfact/statements/2015/aug/18/howard-dean/howard-dean-tremendous-number-public-officials-hav/

dailysignal.com/2015/03/08/high-ranking-federal-officials-history-using-personal-email-government-business/

cnn.com/2016/02/04/politics/hillary-clinton-email-classified-colin-powell-condoleezza-rice/

"A Politifact analysis also confirmed that Clinton’s practices complied with laws and regulations, including support from the former director of a prominent government accountability organization: “In Clinton’s defense, we should note that it was only after Clinton left the State Department, that the National Archives issued a recommendation that government employees should avoid conducting official business on personal emails (though they noted there might be extenuating circumstances such as an emergency that require it). Additionally, in 2014, President Barack Obama signed changes to the Federal Records Act that explicitly said federal officials can only use personal email addresses if they also copy or send the emails to their official account. Because these rules weren’t in effect when Clinton was in office, ‘she was in compliance with the laws and regulations at the time,’ said Gary Bass, founder and former director of OMB Watch, a government accountability organization.”

It’s really just no big deal. Much ado about nothing.
Lily, as you know in the Republican/conservative mindset everything about Hillary has been “much ado” in a negative way to them ever since she was First Lady and tried to get healthcare reform for our country a quarter of a century ago. And she was successful in her role in the Children’s Health Insurance Program, providing healthcare to more than 8 million low income children.

But in Hillary’s own words, she is still standing. Actually I’d say more than just standing. Multiple polls show her being elected the next President of the United States in races against the 2 leading Republican candidates at the moment.

Quite naturally, the conservative mindset has always been to support conservatives, and oppose liberals.
There is nothing particularly new, or surprising, or upsetting, about that.

What is unfortunate is how the liberal mindset has become about supporting a Democratic, no matter what.

There is nothing particularly liberal about avoiding any of the inconveniences that open government brings to a politician by keeping all government correspondance on proper government channels.

There is nothing liberal or progressive or democratic about supporting that kind of behavior.

Ergo, there is nothing particularly liberal or progressive or democratic about the kinds of people who back Hillary Clinton.

Thank you, Sy. I think Hillary has done more good for the US than all of the modern day Republican presidents combined. She was a very active First Lady, who took a great interest in the country, and I think she will be an exemplary president.

I would disagree with the idea that liberal will support Democrats no matter what.

On the email issue, the Republicans have done their best to make this look like a witch hunt. The committee meeting where they grilled Clinton for 11 hours and did nothing but make her look like a genius and the Republicans look like middle school students would be a prime example.

In your opinion. Don’t think you can blame the current FBI probe on the GOP. She did this all my herself.

The problem with Hillary is that she is not a skilled politician. Her husband could take insults from the republicans and still manage to craft deals with them. She has no experience working with the other side, particularly another side who stands for everything that is the exact opposite of what she stands for. To be fair, the republicans have a moral obligation to fight her by any means necessary. To do otherwise would be sexist. If she wins, she will end up just like Obama, a do nothing president. It doesn’t help that she is not well liked among democrats.

I do think I can explain why Democrats defend her though - the embarrassment that was the Benghazi Congressional Hearing smacked of witch hunt. And, of course, that is what I was commenting on.

As I recall there was little cooperation by the SD. They drug their heels on providing documents that was asked for. Hillary is good at that. She never remembers, she can’t recall blah, blah, blah.

As long as there are vile, bumbling Republicans to take the blame, then Clinton not only gets off scot free from circumventing disclosure and openness in her official government dealings, but she becomes a genius to her fans.

There is nothing liberal about that, and there is nothing liberal about closing the public out of any possibility of disclosure of the way she was running her department.

No you weren’t.

The topic that you were making comment on was the e-mail scandal. You used the eleven hour grilling to shift the focus to the Republicans.

Not recalling is “genius”.

The slate.com link was very close to what the email conversations were about - just as the emails were getting “hot” a virus or lockout took my computer down. The timing of the messages between Hillary and Sid Blumenthal was always pretty quick and the tone was in “tune” with one another.

That pic of Sid was interesting as he has avoided being photographed. No matter how much the Clinton Cult praises their idols - they have been among the worst of people in power.

I do agree that she’s not a natural politician, nor does she have the natural likability factor - charsma - like Bill does. And yes, she can expect Republicans to fight her on anything. I do agree with the poster - was it you? - who said the Benghazi hearings made the GOP look like middle schoolers and Hillary like a genius.

I don’t know if I agree that she’ll be a do-nothing president, but I don’t think she’ll break any new ground or kill a criminal on par with bin Laden.

Sorry, it was you who said that. Yes, I agree. By the time the marathon hearing was over, Hillary looked like an innocent genius, and the GOP looked like twelve-year-old bullies. These long interrogations have a way of backfiring on the questioner.

Not ONE of your article links actually shows an example of someone setting up a separate email server. Howard Dean lied about doing so, he actually only set up a private email account. The fact that you showed ZERO examples to support your claim shows that you either don’t understand the difference between an email server and an email account, or you are trying to be deceptive and claim something for which you have no support.

Please give ONE example of another federal official setting up a private email server.

And you citation of Politifact is worthless. They are a blatantly biased and leftist website who hold no integrity or respect with those who care about truth. They were set up by the wildly leftist St Pete Times to give cover for liberals and democrats and lie about them to hide the truth. They are not worthy of citation for those who care about truth. Their opinion about the legality of Clinton’s server is bunk, which you can see because the FBI is most certainly not convinced of its legality.

I don’t know what the FBI is convinced of or not convinced of, but I am convinced you don’t know for sure, either.

I guess the Republicans should have waited to grill her until they had their ducks in a row.
