So that $14M was basically all donated to their own foundation. The same foundation which pays a salary to their daughter and is controlled completely by themselves. For those who complain about “loopholes” this seems a perfect example.
No, it wasn’t. Since you are claiming please provide a source for your claim.

I’ve already listed off that $6M of the charitable contributions for 2013 and 2014 went to their foundation.

2012 - Total charitable contributions: $1,825,650, of which, $1,800,000 to the Clinton Foundation

2011 - Total charity $1,400,000, all of it to the foundation

2010 - Total charity $1,000,000, all of it to the foundation

2009 - Total charity $1,000,000, all of it to the foundation

2008 - Total charity $550,000, all of it to the foundation

2007 - Total charity $3,083,100, $3,019,000 to the foundation.

Feel free to look yourself. ALL of it went to her own foundation.

Well, they do say charity begins at home 😉

Of the remainder, 25k went to the **HUMANA **Golf Challenge, I wonder what the real story is there.

So do you believe in religions in which the man is total boss, in which the woman has no say? Those are the religions Hillary is talking about.
Can you tell us which religion teaches that the man is total boss, and the woman has no say?

So, they took it out of one pocket and put it into another and avoided millions in taxes by doing it.
Most people do not have the money to pay wall street lawyers to construct a tax avoidance scheme for them. The politicians have created a tax system with all kinds of loopholes, exemptions and clauses, many of which favor the wealthy. That is why I personally favor a flat tax system, such as the one proposed by Mr. Cruz, where everyone pays the same rate and there are no deductions. Something is seriously wrong when you can avoid paying taxes on $5 million by taking it from one pocket and putting it into another.

It’s Time for Hillary Clinton to Concede the Democratic Nomination to Bernie Sanders
With Bernie Sanders now slightly ahead of Clinton nationally in the latest Bloomberg poll, it’s time to reevaluate the meaning of pragmatism. Hillary Clinton might be ahead of Bernie Sanders in delegates, but Vermont’s Senator has a monopoly on political momentum. Sadly, his opponent has a monopoly on controversy, and will face FBI interviews in the near future. A Los Angeles Times article titled Clinton email probe enters new phase as FBI interviews loom highlights why Clinton’s campaign is stuck in political quicksand:
Federal prosecutors investigating the possible mishandling of classified materials on Hillary Clinton’s private email server have begun the process of setting up formal interviews with some of her longtime and closest aides, according to two people familiar with the probe, an indication that the inquiry is moving into its final phases.
Prosecutors also are expected to seek an interview with Clinton herself, though the timing remains unclear.
Yes, federal prosecutors will interview Hillary Clinton, in addition to her close associates.
This is from HuffPo and it isn’t the first liberal source I’ve seen pushing this line.

If she weren’t so power hungry, all this might have fallen under the radar. She could have left well enough alone after resigning as SOS.
Indeed.HillaryClinton will fight and claw her way to the presidency, her lifelong goal.

I’m in favor of tax reform, too, but I just want to say that nobody needs a wall street lawyer to file a Schedule A. You just itemize your deductions, add them up and transfer that figure to the 1040.

I don’t think it was her goal until Bill left the WH. And she should just do what she’s been doing. She has 2.5 million more votes than Bernie does. If she’s indicted, she’'s indicted; if she’s not, well, her enemies will just have to live with it. Conceding the nomination to Bernie isn’t going to change anything.

Of course they’ll interview Hillary! They’d be negligent if they didn’t.

I’m not good at doing taxes, and I hate doing them, but even I find the 1040 easy.

If you don’t have to file Schedules E or C, or Form 4562. For starters.
It’s a terrible ordeal if you have any kind of complexity at all, and it’s not just the number of separate forms one has to fill out. There are all these “mini-rules”. Sure, you can deduct fencing repairs, BUT you have to send a 1099 to the people who do the work. You can deduct hay, BUT you have to send a 1099 to the hauler. In 2012 you could deduct the whole cost of a hay barn, but now you have to put it on a depreciation schedule. You can deduct mileage, ONLY if you’re reimbursed for it and keep a log. But one thing about casual labor is that some people won’t fill out a W-9 because they owe taxes or child support or something, and so what do you do?

If you build a building for commercial use, some of it has to be put on long-term depreciation. Some of the cost is immediately deductible. Some of it goes on a 5-year depreciation schedule. Some on a 7 year schedule. You can pay your grandson for stringing wire, but his parent has to pay the “kiddie tax”. If you have a business, it has to have a separate return if it’s a corporation or an LLC or a partnership. If you have a trust, it has to have its own return (usually, but not always). Some preparers allow an LLC to be a “pass through”, but only if it’s in the operating agreement. Some advise against having it in the operating agreement for some arcane reason.

And, of course, if you hire people regularly, there are the deposits to withholding for state and federal, and returns for those. There is the report to workers’ compensation and to the state for unemployment. And Obamacare is a nightmare all by itself, making it extremely difficult to provide employee health insurance.

My returns are easily two inches thick and cost a fortune. And I’m not even rich by what really rich people would consider rich. My problems are that I’m self-employed, have employees, do some ranching on the side and have some rentals. I do have an estate plan. And some people actually wonder why small business startups are lagging and employment by small business is lagging even more.

Yes, I realize if I worked for a salary at some governmental entity and never invested in anything other than the 401K that somebody else administers (or rely on some unfunded government retirement program), it would be a lot easier. I could probably do my return even without TurboTax. But try to be independent, and you pay dearly for the privilege.

Historically, small business is responsible for 60% of new job creation. It’s a wonder anybody has a job in this country unless they work for the government or some large company.

Pfft! Easy peasy!

Pfft! Easy peasy!
The problem is, we have nobody to blame but ourselves for our complicated tax code. For some reason we are willing to tolerate arcane tax provisions that benefit special interest groups even though it makes the tax code much more complicated. Like ridge said, at one time a few years back a farmer could write off the whole cost of the building in the year built, but someone who puts up a hotel instead of the barn would have to depreciate it. What is the sense in silly rules like that? We could have tax simplification, but there is no political will for it.
