Cornel West endorses Jill Stein
Jill Stein - “I am incredibly honored to have the support of the legendary Dr. Cornel West, a great American intellectual activist who has tirelessly carried the torch passed by love warriors like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.,” she said in a statement. “Dr. West’s truth-telling voice is especially needed now, with Americans across the country rising up against a morally bankrupt political system.”

West was on the Democratic National Convention platform committee, but abstained from the final voting citing the party’s “moral failures.”
West said he couldn’t join the Vermont senator, who formally endorsed Clinton on Tuesday, in backing the presumptive Democratic nominee.
“I have a deep love for my brother Bernie Sanders, but I disagree with him on Hillary Clinton,” he wrote. "Her militarism makes the world a less safe place.
Clinton policies of the 1990s generated inequality, mass incarceration, privatization of schools and Wall Street domination." CNN July 15th 2016

New Ties Emerge Between Clinton And Mysterious Islamic Cleric
A newly-released email and lobbying documents filed with Congress reveals new ties between Clintonworld and members of a network operated by a mysterious Islamic cleric from Turkey.
Connections between Clinton and acolytes of the imam, Fethullah Gulen, could muddle the complex relationship between the U.S. and Turkey, a key NATO ally, if the former secretary of state wins the White House.
Turkey’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has mounted an aggressive crackdown against Gulen and his followers, known as Gulenists. Erdoğan, who was once allied with Gulen, has even personally asked President Obama to extradite the 74-year-old guru, who has lived in self-exile in Pennsylvania’s Pocono mountains since 1999.
Erdoğan has accused Gulen of attempting to undermine the Turkish government. Gulen’s followers control many Turkish institutions, including the media, courts, and police force.

It seems that up to now, US citizens in the private sector have faced competition from undocumented workers, while government employees have been protected from such competition. In other words, the people who pay the wages and salaries of government employees have been discriminated against, and government employees have benefited from a privileged, unequal status.

If Senator Clinton become President of the USA, then will she allow undocumented workers to compete with government employees?

Half of the money saved on government employee wages and salaries could be paid to enterprising government bureaucrats who recruit and train low-wage undocumented workers to replace low-level government employees. Thus, government bureaucracies will have an internal incentive to change, so that change will not depend entirely upon outside pressure. The other half of the money saved could be used to reduce the budget deficit.

The contractual agreements between governments and their employees are of little significance. Governments have sovereign immunity. Any political appointee who has been convicted in a court of law can receive executive clemency. Furthermore, the executive branch can simply refrain from enforcing laws in situations where such enforcement would be inconvenient, or contrary to the desires of the executive branch.

That does not sound like a go.
Liberals are only generous with other people’s money. While imminently fair, this will hit the Democratic base right in the pocket book.

The IRS might be a little bit more reluctant to go after the political foes of the Democrats the next time, if ever such measures were ever passed by Democrats

I just watched the Big Short this morning.
It was all about people in power acting fully corrupt with impunity, and not having to face any consequences whatsoever for their actions, no matter how egregious. It showed just how totally rotten the movers and shakers in America are. The conclusion was that nothing is going to happen to them anyway. People in power have friends in power who will not go against them.

It was an indictment of the ruling class, covering for each other, and raking in the windfall, and bailing each other on the taxpayers dime.

It is a lot like the story of HRC, except there is one important difference. It is not that HRC has not had others in power covering for her too. She is very much a part of that set.

The difference is that not even the voters of America will lift a finger against the corrupt.

Can’t blame Comey or the one percent why it is Hillary that is still leading in the polls. This is all on the American voter this time.

I was disappointed Bernie finally endorsed her. he probably didn’t have a choice or they made him an offer he couldn’t refuse!
Actually, Clinton promised she would make campaign finance reform a top priority in her first 30 days in office. She also has a plan, similar to Sanders’, for free tuition for community colleges. Whether, if elected, she will follow through on these promises is anyone’s guess.

don’t you think she is playing for Bernie supporters?

More free stuff pulled out of the bubble.

What could possibly go wrong with that?

Community colleges are not that expensive. I attended one because I wanted smaller classes. And how would teachers get paid if tuition is FREE?

Where will the money come from? How can her supporters possibly think this isn’t a problem? NOTHING is free.

Many European countries such as France have virtually free college education which is paid for from tax revenues. It’s certainly a much better way to have spent their tax money than what we did by pouring over a trillion dollars down the drain for an ill-advised war in Iraq. Just think of how many people we could have sent to college on the $1.7 trillion we wasted in Iraq.

Had we stayed in Iraq to guard the peace, it would have been productive. The Kurds, the sunni and the shia all begged us to stay. The CIA chief, the Joint Chiefs and the DIA chief all said the same thing. But Obama had made his promise to abandon Iraq, and so now, as predicted, it’s a battle ground between Sunni radicals and Iran. No surprise.

And the trillion dollars spent on the “stimulus” package? What did that get us? And what about the war on Libya? What did that do for this country? And the money given to the Muslim Brotherhood?

European countries pay for all things, one way or another. Nothing’s free. Their taxes are also higher and their wages lower, for the most part.

AP: Clinton condemns shooting deaths of three Louisiana officers, says, ‘This madness has to stop.’

If fact she said she would impose the harshest sentence possible by law for Cop killers as its a direct assault on all of us. Does that mean “gulp” the death penalty? My did she swing right quickly. She dropped the systemic white racist tired rap. Still she went with the 21st century policing with a nod supported by controversial statistics with narrow optics missing the overall picture imho.

In short she followed a very wide open view of her own outline on issues.
Death penalty appropriate for Oklahoma City bombing
Q: You said that capital punishment has a place in a very few federal cases, but you also said you would breathe a sigh of relief if the Supreme Court abolished the death penalty nationwide.
CLINTON: What I hope the Supreme Court will do is make it absolutely clear that any state that continues capital punishment must meet the highest standards of evidentiary proof of effective assistance of counsel. I have much more confidence in the federal system, and I do reserve it for particularly heinous crimes in the federal system, like terrorism. I thought it was appropriate after a very thorough trial that Timothy McVeigh received the death penalty for blowing up the Federal Building in Oklahoma City, killing 168 people, including 19 children in a daycare center.
SANDERS: When somebody commits any of these terrible crimes [like in Oklahoma City], you lock them up, and you toss away the key. They’re never going to get out. But, I just don’t want to see government be part of killing.

Address systemic racism in our criminal justice system
Q: This community suffered heartache from the video of Walter Scott being shot in the back while running from police. Many African American men fear that their lives are cheap–is that perception or reality?
CLINTON: Sadly it’s reality, and it has been heartbreaking, & incredibly outraging to see the constant stories of young men, like Walter Scott, who have been killed by police officers. Their needs to be a concerted effort to address the systemic racism in our criminal justice system.
NOTE-That requires a very clear agenda for retraining police officers, looking at ways to end racial profiling, finding more ways to really bring the disparities that stalk our country into high relief. One out of three African American men may well end up going to prison. What we would be doing if it was one out of three white men? Often, the black men are arrested, convicted and incarcerated for offenses that do not lead to the same results for white men. So, we have a very serious problem that we can no longer ignore.

Rebuild trust between communities and police
We have systemic racism and in particular, in our justice system that must be addressed. We have to reform our criminal justice system and we have to find ways to bring law enforcement together with the communities they are sworn to protect. Trust has been totally lost in a lot of places. We need to get a bipartisan commitment to work on this. We need to hear the voices of those who feel like strangers in their own country, so that we can begin to rebuild trust.

Minus the revelation of the state death penalty being utilized and the systemic white racism in the justice system in specific mention, she alluded to via back door bad information to appeal to the NAACP being her continued need to lock in her constituents which is for sure contested. She knows why and how we arrived where we are at as her husband was the biggest offender creating this mess with her involvment.

I am personally opposed to free tuition, and certainly funded by the federal government. State colleges should be the responsibility of the various states to fund as their voters see fit.

As to private colleges and shortfalls in state funding for state schools, I think students and parents should pay for them. Anything free is always overutilized and underappreciated. The feds should get out of the business of funding student loans. Right now, their favorable arbitrage is a revenue source for the government to squander. But if short term rates ever exceed student loan rates, it will blow a hole in the budget.

In his heart of hearts, he doesn’t think she will. But what choice does he have, especially since he views Trump as the bigger enemy? He did not, however, officially suspend his campaign: perhaps an olive branch to his supporters. If he did not make peace with Hillary Clinton, he would be seen as a spoiler, a sore loser, and a schlimazel, for sure. (He may already be seen as such.)
Thanks for teaching me a new word. I wonder what the parallels between Bernie Sanders and Jerry Brown are. If I recall correctly, Brown went all the way to the convention even though Bill Clinton pretty much locked it up.

And if she is elected we will have another term of ole Bill. But it would be a boost for the scandal sheets as he becomes the “First Man” and his escapades.
