I sincerely hope that Marymount looses its Catholic name, as well as any institution that promotes immorality as defined by the Catholic Church or honors abortion supporters according to the statement of the USCCB last year. All these do is dilute the true teachings of the Church and mislead people to believe such things are OK because it is OKed by a Catholic institution. I sent Cardinal Egan an e-mail through his diocese saying that I hope he is backing up by his actions the recommendations of the USCCB, and that his actions in this regard will either show him to be a true Church leader or a wimpy politician who really does not truly believe in Catholic teachings. Perhaps, a bit strong, but I believe necessary.

Notorious Canadian Abortionist’s Pending Honorary Doctorate Causing Uproar

Bishop Ronald Fabbro, who is on the board of a college affiliated with The University of Western Ontario which is giving the award, sent a letter of protest. The chair of the board of UWO has also protested. Link above has contact information to join the protest.

The abortionist in question created the abortion industry in Canada in the late 1960s. In violation of law, he opened an abortion clinic, did an abortion on Canadian Television and spent ten months in prison for it. His activism led the Canadian Supreme Court to overturn the laws banning abortion.
